While I agree with Dick's comment that some things just take a long time
with Money 2004 and 5 (I don't remember it being as bad in 2003) I will
point out that each time I see a non-obvious task taking longer than normal
(category moves and deletes are BIG sorts and updates for the Jet database
(which ain't so good in the first place) ) I do a repair. If quick doesn't
do it, standard comes next.
I must do a repair a couple times per month but my performance has been good
since I got into the habit.
