Ron,
Yes, I had updated my *.mny file with online downloads from broker and I'm
sure it had added at least one new stock position. Then I had :
1) Saved my *.mny file while exiting Money 2007
2) Then tried to "re-open Money 2007 with my *.mny file
3) Then the error message would appear "Money has encountered a problem ..."
I did not try the approach you used to resolve my Money 2007 crash issue, as
during attempts to start M07 with my latest saved data file it would crash
before I could change the "startup/home page". So I had to:
1) Start M07 with a "backup data file, *.mbf ",
2) Then reset my default "startup/home page" to the "bank accounts list page"
3) Then re-download data from online accounts for the ~two weeks that this
"backup data file was missing". At least one new stock position was added to
my Money accounts during this online account update download process.
4) Created a new "backup data file" (for safety)
5) Exited M07 with no errors, auto saving my *.mny file
6) Re-started M07 with my *.mny file and have had no issues since. Note: I
have not gone back to my "old default startup/home page" in money to see if
M07 would crash on this page.
