I've read tons of knowledgebase stuff, but nothing helpful so far. I'm
desperate and MS won't help bec my version is "obsolete."

I got e-mail from MS last month that I had to delete the Passport
credentials. I didn't care because I just import files and work on them on
Money- I don't use my bank's website, except for exporting transactions.

Since I deleted the Passport credentials, I have tried importing .qifs into
Monry. I get a message that the import was successfull, but the transactions
don't appear. PLEASE help!

Also: I just imported transactions from a qif file into a NEW account and
they show up. Then I cut and pasted ONE line item from the new account to my
checking account. I got a message that it transfered, but when I opened up
the checking account it wasn't there!

Check the "View" options. Perhaps you've selected to *not* display the
data you want to see.

Thanks, Steve. There's no VIEW Menu, but under Tools>Options>Online
Services, I have it checked to "Automaticaly accept downloaded transactions."

On your AccountList, does the ToReview column have any
entries that say TransactionsToRead? I assume not.

Try this:

In Internet Explorer delete your browser temporary files with
Tools->InternetOptions->DeleteFiles or
Tools->InternetOptions->Delete->DeleteFiles.

Open Money with Start->Run and entering
"msmoney -s" without the quotes into the box.

Then go to Tools->Options->OnlineServiceSetting and
select ShowStandardizedPayeeNamesForWhichANameIsNotFound. This
is a global (inter-file) setting.

Download again.

If that does not do it, maybe File->Import as a recovered file,
rather than as a statement, will be useful. Note that does not do
any checking for duplicates.

No, it doesn't.

What happaned was, it said, again, it was importin. IN THe acount list the
number of transactions went up, then went back down.

> If that does not do it, maybe File->Import as a recovered file

Did that; same thing happened. This time the actual account was scrolling,
as if new transactions were coming in, then they disappeared. This is crazy!

Thanks for trying!

At the top left corner of the Account Register screen, in the title bar
above the flag column, you should find a "View" option.

I'm assuming you're using a recent version of Money and have enabled
advanced register.

As Steve suggested: within the Account Register, check the View settings to
ensure that it is showing "All Transactions" for "All Dates"
Also confirm that the transactions are sorted in Date order (with the newest
at the bottom of the register)

Steve: I found what you are describing; I do have the View set to view all
transactions for all dates. I couldn't, though, find anything that tells me
whether or not I have enabled advanced register. I have it set to enter data
via a form, and the register shows the flag column, the ! column, date,
payee, pmt/dep, and balance.

THE most suspicious thing to me is that, on the main screen, where it shows
checking and 1178 transcations, when I import, the total increase for a
second, then returns down to 1178. If I'm in the acount register, the lines
start scrolling as if info is coming in, then those lines disappear. This
suggests that there is some sort of View problem.

_Enabling Advanced Register_
Use these steps to switch an account between the Essential and Advanced
Registers.
* Click Banking, and then click Account List.
* Click the name of an account.
* In the left pane, under Other tasks, click Change account settings.
* Under Register Detail, click:
Switch to the Advanced Account Register
-or-
Switch to the Essential Account Register
* Follow the instructions on the screen.
Note: These instructions are from Money 2007. I don't remember whether
M03 had the option.

_From the Help file on "Downloaded transactions don't appear in the
account register"._
If Money downloads blank statements from your financial institution
instead of the expected information, try the following:
* Repair the Money file
On the File menu, point to Repair Money File, and then click Quick
File Repair.

* Empty the Temporary Internet Files folder
Close Money.
In Control Panel, double-click Internet Options.
Under Temporary Internet files, click Delete Files, and then click
OK.
Restart Money.

Notes
The steps for emptying your Temporary Internet Files folder may vary
depending on the version of Microsoft Windows you're using. For more
information, see Help for your version of Windows.

For more information, see the following Microsoft Help & Support
article: How to Troubleshoot Problems with Downloaded Statements.

_Another thing to try_
You could try opening your _a copy of_ data file with a free trial copy
of Money Plus Deluxe. If this solves your problem, then go ahead and
upgrade. You have 60 days on the trial.

M03 won't read the files created by M+, so don't expect to go
backwards. Did you notice I said to use a _copy_ of your data file?

I don't have a Change Account Settings option.

I don't think so.

I don't have this option. Maybe it IS time to upgrade :)

What I did was import the qifs to a new account, then cut and paste each
line item into the correct acount. It seems that it was only a few days that
wouldn't import; the other qifs imported fine. So I think maybe something
might have been corrupt?

Thanks Soooooo much for your help!

I'm glad you have a solution. Too bad it was so annoying.
