    - want to make money through the mail? real easy! READING THIS COULD CHANGE YOUR LIFE! I found this on a bulletin board and decided to try it. A little while back, I was browsing through newsgroups, just like you are now, and came across an article similar to this that said you could make thousands of dollars within weeks with only an initial investment of $6.00! So I thought, "Yeah right, this must be a scam", but like most of us, I was curious, so I kept reading. Anyway, it said that you send $1.00 to each of the 6 names and address stated in the article. You then place your own name and address in the bottom of the list at #6, and post the article in at least 200 newsgroups. (There are thousands) No catch, that was it. So after thinking it over, and talking to a few people first, I thought about trying it. I figured: "what have I got to lose except 6 stamps and $6.00, right?" Then I invested the measly $6.00. Well GUESS WHAT!! Within 7 days, I started getting money in the mail! I was shocked! I figured it would end soon, but the money just kept coming in. In my first week, I made about $25.00. By the end of the second week I had made a total of over $1,000.00! In the third week I had over $10,000.00 and it's still growing. This is now my fourth week and I have made a total of just over $42,000.00 and it's still coming in rapidly. It's certainly worth $6.00, and 6 stamps, I have spent more than that on the lottery!! Let me tell you how this works and most importantly, why it works. Also, make sure you print a copy of this article NOW, so you can get the information off of it, as you need it. I promise you that if you follow the directions exactly, that you will start making more money than you thought possible by doing something so easy! Suggestion: Read this entire message carefully! STEP 3: Change anything you need to, but try to keep this article as close to original as possible. Now, post your amended article to at least 200 newsgroups. (I think there are close to 24,000 groups) All you need is 200, but remember, the more that you post, the more money you make! This is perfectly legal! If you have any doubts, refer to Title 18 Sec. 1302 & 1341 of the Postal lottery laws. Keep a copy of these steps for yourself and, whenever you need money, you can use it again, and again. Fill in the Subject, this will be the header that everyone sees as they scroll through the list of postings in a particular group, click the post message button. You're done with your first one! Congratulations...THAT'S IT! All you have to do is jump to different newsgroups and post away, after you get the hang of it, it will take about 30 seconds for each newsgroup! **REMEMBER, THE MORE NEWSGROUPS YOU POST IN, THE MORE MONEY YOU WILL MAKE!!     - Money 06 Hi, I installed Money 06. Now when I click the icon to start Money 06 nothing happens (at least I do not see visbile sign of any program starting ). I go to the Task manager and I do not see Money 06 in the application tab, However I do see msmoney.exe in the process tab.     - 401k Account Missing In Money 2005,I have a 401k account that shows up in my portfolo but on the Account List under Investment Accounts, just the name shows up and no balance. I can't print a report for this account (it will not show up on the list) or include this account in my lifetime planner. When I go into Change account settings, the retirement box is checked, under budget the "Include this account in the budget planner" is checked. The "use this account for budgeted savings goals" is not checked and the system will not let me check it.     - Microsoft money could not update your account... I have been using Money 2006 since mid 2005 with no problems. However, now several of my accounts will not complete internet updates. The Quotes/news and my American Express account update just fine. But my other credit card (MBNA) and bank accounts (WAMU) will not update.     - Auto Assigning Categories Is there a way to turn off the auto assignment of categories for downloaded transactions in Money 2006? We shop at Walmart, Costco, etc. where we purchase many different goods. We split most of these transactions into multiple categories. Money remembers the last split we have made and automatically assigns that split/category to the next dowloaded transaction from that store.     - Synching w/ the web I upgraded from 2004 Standard to 2006 Standard on Friday. Since then, I have had nothing but problems. The problems I see include: 1. Taking literally forever for my accounts to synch up...I just get the 'update in progress' message for ever, even when I shut down the pc and restart. 2. If the updates are successful, I get two or three of every transaction, transaactions going back a year or more, mutual fund holdings that were long since disposed of. What I have found through hours and hours of playing around is that these problems only surface when I set up Money to synchronize with MSN's website. If I don't enable that, the updates happen quickly and appear to be accurate. When I do enable that function through the 'access your money data on the web' option things get pretty strange. At this point, I have restored from and old (and good) backup file to at least get me to where I should be. I have disabled the synch up with MSN, I have deleted all of my accounts from MSN. However, I had already done most of this once and it didn't work. I'm desperately trying to figure out how to get this done.     - Old Fund data appearing in Home Page Reports I am running Microsoft Money 2004 Standard Edition. I have two accounts, both of which have one mutual fund in the account. Both accounts have a zero balance. Fund #1 no longer shows up in the "Pick Quotes to Download", the "Money Home Page Investment Summary" and the "Money Home Page Best and Worst Performers". Fund#1 behavior is what I would expect and what I want. Fund #2 does show up in the "Pick Quotes to Download", the "Money Home Page Investment Summary" and the "Money Home Page Best and Worst Performers". For Fund#2, I have deselected the fund in the "Pick Quotes to Download" and the quote is no longer downloaded. Fund#2 shows up in the "Money Home Page Investment Summary"and "Money Home Page Best and Worst Performers" using the quote of the last day that was downloaded. Needless to say, the Home Page reports are not accurate, since other funds are using a quote from today's date and Fund#2 is using a quote from an old date. It does not matter where I have the account for Fund#2 in an open or closed status, the result is the same. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can get Fund#2 to act like Fund#1.     - Short Sell and Cover Short transactions on the same date Has anyone successfully entered a Short Sell transaction AND a Cover Short transaction for the same shares on the same date? Whenever I try to do this, Money complains that the share balance will become positive because it is trying to put the Cover Short transaction ahead of the Short Sell transaction. I suppose this is because Cover Short is alphabetically before Short Sell, but I am not sure. I have had this problem in all versions upto 2005.     - 401(k) Manager Calculations I've been using the 401(k) Manager to update my portfolio with my quarterly statement (since Money 2002 Deluxe). A real annoyance, still around in Money 2006 Deluxe, is the rounding off, causing discrepancies. After inputting the statement date and statement total, you update Quantities and Prices below and Money calculates the Market Value. Quantity, Price and Market Value are all updateable fields. If I enter the Quantity on my statement, rounded to three decimal positions, the Market value is frequently off a few cents. What I must do is manually calculate (Market Value/Price) to get the Quantity to more than three decimal positions, then input all this information so Money can calculate the Market Value. Since we can type in the field called â??Market Valueâ??, couldnâ??t Microsoft provide a â??backwards calculationâ?? for us? Example, Iâ??d like to type in Price and Market Value and let Money calculate the Quantity for me, and update the field beyond three decimal points. Any suggestions?     - 'Balancing' 401k fund through quarterly statement I have an employer 401K that cannot be updated via auto-update (i.e. their mutual fund offerings are internal and do not have a 'real' stock ticker symbol). In previous versions of Money (previous to 2006) there was an option that was called something like 'Balance 401k' or 'Enter 401k statement' or something like that - this was used to enter the prices from your quarterly (or whatever) statement into money so it would at least have somewhat correct prices. However, I know longer see this option anywhere in my investment portfolio menus... So how does one now enter this information from their quarterly statement into Money? Thanks in advance.     - Accept Stock Sell Transfer in Checking Account I recently sold some stock and as part of the transaction, Money asked me what account the proceeds were transferring too. I chose my checking account and all seemed fine. The problem is that when I downloaded my checking data from my bank, the transaction matched, but Money won't allow me to accept the transaction. Even after reconciling my last statement, Money shows me "Item to review" and clicking the Accept button (or right clicking and choosing accept) has no effect. Any ideas?     - Microsoft Responds As I stated in a previous post, I'm not able to use the auto-update feature to down load Bank of America account info. I sent an email to Ms Support regarding this and received the following: "Based on the current research, I would like to let you know that Bank of America (California) implemented a new security feature named "SiteKey", which requires us to identify an image besides entering the log-on information. Thus, the account information cannot be downloaded from the financial ins titution into Microsoft Money 2006. Recently, we have received a few feedbacks from several customers pertaining to this issue. After collecting the relevant information, we have immediately reported the issue to our Product Group for further investigation. Microsoft and Yodlee, one of our partners, are working closely with the finan cial institution and making every effort to resolve the issue as soon as possible. Your continuous patience and understanding are highly appreciated. At this time, I suggest we visit the financial institution's website, manually download the statement files to the local hard drive, and import them into Microsoft Money 2006. When I see the transaction in Reports, the amount cannot be changed and it cannot be voided. Any tips on how to delete or void this transaction? I would like to hear from you whether it is possible for me to configure money to automatically download stocks and mutual funds from the Brazilian stocks market (BOVESPA). I have allready searched in various sites and FAQs, but did not find any answer to this. Only a restricted groups of countries are listed on Money Central website, and Brazil is not one of those, so this makes me think that perhaps it is not easily integrated into the default onlineservices of Money (2006, my version). But, as such need is rather universal, perhaps someone may have alread established a way to update online, via webservices or directly into the .mny file.     - Online Updates through Yodlee Here we go again!! It has been 3 days since any of my accounts that use Yodlee interface have updated successfully. Anyone else having this issue? Money 2005 .... I really don't have the time to spend again with Microsoft Support to try to get this resolved. The norm has been to pretty much destroy my system in the course of proving to Microsoft that the issue is on their end, not my computer system environment. Dependency on Microsoft maintaining their interface to Yodlee is a joke. Interestingly, I can log on to my Yodlee Oncenter account and all of my accounts have current information.     - Symbol Updating Only Every Few Days (if at all) Using Money 2006, and have a symbol "VLO" that is only updating every few days. This stock was a duplicate (downloaded transaction created a new version of the same stock - my fault not clicking correct choice when asked). I've removed the symbol from the stock entry that was downloaded, renamed this entry to something bogus, deleting this renamed stock "from all accounts", then added the symbol back to the original VLO stock that I've been tracking for years. Now the stock just says "unch" in the portfolio view, and the price history is only updated 4 times in last month or so. All other stocks in the portfolio are updating normally. Any ideas? What do you get as an error indication?

If it says that the password is wrong, see if you can create a
File->New->NewFile without a Passport (click decline). Go to
Help->About, and write down the serial number. You would use that
number when you contact Microsoft support.
