I use Money 2004 to do bill paying and receive cleared transactions from my
bank. It was working fine until this past Saturday. Now it seems to connect
to the bank but no transactions are downloaded. I checked online with my bank
and there are transactions available but they are not being downloaded
anymore. I called my online banking support number and they gave me some
steps to fix it but none did the job. Hope someone can help me. I'm using
Windows XP and IE 6.0. Thanks in advance.

If you care to name the bank, somebody may have some recent
experience with that bank.

Does the Account List show there are transactions to read?

The bank is Wachovia. No transactions are being downloaded to Money at all
but there are transactions available when I check my account online,
including deposits and cleared checks. Thank you Cal for your prompt
response... :)

Looks like they have good direct services.

On AccountList->GetOnlineStatements->ViewDownloadedBalances, what is
the date for Wachovia in the LastDownloaded column? If it is a time
in the future, stop now and post back.

If not, lets try downloading and enable logging of the OFX files.
AccountList->GetOnlineStatements->ConnectToAll. Then hold down
the Cntl+Shift keys while pressing the Connect button. That will
save the transaction info into two files. You will see some files
log files in the same directory your Money file is in. For example,
YourBank 123456799 RQ.txt would be the request info, and YourBank
123456789 RS.txt is the response file.

Are the time/date stamps current? How large is the response file
from Wachovia?

Thanks again... Cal... :)

Okay... the last downloaded date is 8/30/05. Did the ctrl/shift while
downloading but there are no txt files at all where my Money file is in. I
only see the regular money file plus another file ending in *.lrd :(

Hmmm. I got confused in versions. For Money 2004, I think you have
to use the registry method to get the logs.

Create a file named provlog4.reg that contains
the following 4 lines between the = signs:
==================================================
REGEDIT4

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Money\12.0\Online]
"FLogProviderData"=dword:00000001
=======================================================

Execute provlog4.reg

That will turn on the Money 2004 logging. Try that download again.

Actually, I guess I am just looking for the presence of the *RS.txt
response file. I assume that it is coming in, since Money is not
complaining.

I would consider making an extra copy of the file. Disable online
access for the Wachovia. Re-enable the online access, and see if
that gets things unstuck. That would cause Money to ask for the
older transactions again.

Oh my... Cal... thank you so very much. You are a genius. I disabled the
Wachovia online access and then reestablished it as you suggested. It just
downloaded some cleared transactions... I'm in heaven... :) Thank you so much
again. I'm so glad I found this forum to find answers to my question. Funny
thing is, the technical help from Wachovia online services did not suggest
this at all. The last resource he suggested was removing and reinstalling
Money which I did to no avail. Oh well... live and learn... :)
