    - Adding Business Usage Categories to Budget--Problem I need to budget and keep track of all categories whether business or personal in nature (usage-wise under categories).     - Money 2004 files to back to Money 2000 program My computer in Florida has Money 2004. When returning to Wisconsin I tried using the Money 2004 files with my Money 2000 in Wisconsin but the program would not open because it asked for my "Password". I have never used a password before and don't have a password. I have been using Money programs for 5 years and this is the first time I have had any problems. Any ideas?     - Why Upgrade from MS Money 2003 to 2005? I just upgraded and recently noticed with my transactions in comparison to MS Money 2000 which is much better and worked with all my SB Office Business tools 2000. MS Money 2003 SB Edition destroyed all links to MS Business Tools and also does not pick up all my financial transactions data so I would have to keep a paper copy anyway or go online to find the transaction to fill in the data. MS Money 2003 does not work properly with VersaCheck QuickPass 2004. TaxCut 2004 works great with MS Money 2003. You are pushing to upgrade MS Money 2005 and I read some of the support issues.     - MS Money 2005 Deluxe becomes Trial I have been using MS Money 2005 Trial for 3 months. Now I purchased MSM 2005 Deluxe. I uninstalled the trial, installed Deluxe, launched it - worked okay (except it wasn't showing Deluxe in About box for some reason). Then I opened my old .mny file created in Trial version, closed/reopened MS Money, it said "your trial had expired" and closed itself. I tried to uninstall/reinstall a couple of times, tried to sign in/out with Passport, called tech support - no luck.     - Expand Bill Summary View I just upgraded from Money 2000 to 2005 Deluxe. In the 2000 bill summary view, I was able to view all bills due within the next month to those due in the next 12 months.     - Tagging Stocks for Performance I would like to tag various stock transactions so that I can track their performance as a group. The stocks have frequently been bought in more than one invesetment account (although not always). The ideal method would be to simply tag these transactions in some way and then filter for them in the portfolio view. However, I can not seem to figure out how to do this. I have used two, less satisfying techniques: 1. Track them offline in MS-Excel 2. Duplicate the transactions in a watch-list and track them within MS-Money Anyone found a way to tag stocks...or have an alternative solution for this?     - I want money market account to = CASH , not "Mutual Fund" in asset allocation view My Fidelity Cash Reserves account shows onscreen as type = Money Market / Cash fund, yet when I try to sort my investments by type , it does not appear as Money Market as do my other MMkt funds. When I knew what that trasfer was, I change that transfer to "Payment for Invoice". MS05 SB then asked me to allocate that amount to the invoice I created (same amount). I accepted and it went through with no problem. However, when I checked at my account list, the account receivable was still outstanding at the same amount before. It seemed that invoice had never been paid!! I now have to delete that transfer and re-enter it to make that invoice paid. Anyone knows how to correct this? Thanks!     - Matched Transactions Hi, I updated my Money 2005 file with transactions from my bank into my checking account. Among the transactions was an ATM transaction that closely matched one of my uncleared/unaccepted online payments. I accidentally clicked on Accept. The accept box showed the match as: Your Entry Credit Card Payment 130.00 Bank Entry Unknown Retailer 129.19 I cannot find a way to undo this match. If I try to edit the transaction, the Pay To: and Amount: fields are disabled. The actual transaction is the Unknown Retailer transaction, but the Pay To: shows Credit Card Payment. for the uncleared Credit Card Payment. Even if I try to set the category to reflect Credit Card Payment, it will have the wrong amount, as well as it has not been marked with the E for Electronically Cleared through online banking. I attempted to delete the transaction so I could re enter it correctly, and it reports "This transaction has been processed by your financial institution. If you delete it, you won't be able to inquire about it and your records may be incorrect. Do you really want to delete it?" Of course I don't want to lose the ability to track the progress of an online payment, so I click on No, then try Edit > Undo as well as ctrl+z. Neither will allow me to unmatch the transaction.     - "Cash balance" in Microsoft Money 2004/2005 Somehow I must have changed some setting in Money that is causing this problem. It started with Money 2004. I hoped it would go away when I updated to Money 2005, but it didn't. The problem is that in a brokerage account when I sell a stock the "Cash balance" value doesn't get updated.     - Corrupt MS Money Backup File On accident, I deleted my ms money file, and it is long gone, although I tried an undelete program. I tried to restore my backup file, however, disk 1 was unreadable. I was able to recover the mbf file from the floppy using some special software, but still MS Money says it is corrupt.     - Upgrading to Windows XP with Money 2005 I had Money 2005 Deluxe running on Windows 98SE. I upgraded to Windows XP. When I opened Money it asked me to rerun setup. I did. I tried then to open my *.mny file. Money wants to convert it (It's already a 2005 file so don't know why.). Assuming you are on the same PC all you need is the .mny file. Find it with
My Computer or Windows Explorer and double click on the file name.

If it is a different PC the copy the .mny file across to My Documents and
use WE or My Computer as above.
