    - Connect to (wrong) bank I set up online services to the wrong institution and my instituion does NOT provide online services. From the Online Service Manager, I have clicked "change financial instution", picked "(Not Listed)" from the list box but it does not remove it. I have gone to "Change account details->Update contact info for bank or broker", filled in the correct infomation, clicked "Go to..." and it worked. Still, from the account page when I click "Connect to bank->Go to <account> Web site", I go to the wrong web site.     - Trouble after XP SP2? Anyone having problems with MS Money 2002 after doing the XP SP2 upgrade? Immediately after restarting, I was forced to dig up the Money CD so that it could reinstall itself. That seemed to work, but I am still getting Windows Installer errors suggesting that it's still trying to install Money every time I open an IE window (!). I also get them - "Error 1606 - Could not access network location" - when I open Money. I also get it when I maximize an already-open Money from the tray.     - Yearly Budget Values I'm having a lot of trouble setting up a budget. In certain categories I may not have a monthly expense, but I may pay every quarter or twice a year. I've set the appropriate categories in the budget with their appropriate timeframe (for instance, my health insurance is billed annually, so I put in the amount and selected "yearly"). However, during account transactions, when I record paying my health insurance (the entire yearly amount), it comes up in my budget as if I'm over for the month. Any suggestions?     - Can I delete everything on MSN Money? Hello, I seem to have lots of problems syncronizing my MSN Money information with the web. It seems to work fine for a few months, then, for no reason, I start to get syncronization errors. I have signed up for multiple passports, because when these problems start, it seems that I get tons of multiple accounts.     - Payments from customers and organzing it Hi, I have a business (www.thepersonalnote.com) and am using Money 2004 for my business accounts. When I make up an invoice and then marked it as paid, it show's up in my account register. However after I've deposited the money into the bank then download it into money and try to match it up with the payment it won't allow it and it's making my account look as if I'm getting double paid.     - Cannot Print Portfolio Hope some one has an answer as I have talked to every tech in India. Each one transfers me to someone else who transfers me to someone else. After the new and improverd Portfolio was installed everything seemd to work well until I tried to print the portfolio, the hour glass pops up for a second but there is no printinting.     - Microsoft Money 99 Keeps Prompting for CD at Startup I have Microsoft Money 99, Basic. Okay, so it's older software, but it's fine for us. (Windows 2000 laptop, 350 MHz machine--yeah, kind of older.) It works fine except for one thing: it keeps prompting for the CD when the software is started up.     - Budget Zero for Scheduled Transactions When I run a monthly budget report in Money 2003, every one of my scheduled transactions show the correct actual dollar amounts but show zero dollars for the budgeted amounts. This results in a negative or over-budget value for every scheduled transaction. Has anyone seen this before? If so, can you suggest a fix?     - Internet updates not working (Money 2003) Hi: When I try to do an internet update to update my stock prices Money '03 hangs on the "Call Progress" window and I get a "Not Responding" message if I try to click anywhere in the program. There does not appear to be any internet communication initiated by the program even before it freezes so the problem is not some bad ticker symbol. I discovered if I turn the Messenger service off and back on I could sometimes get Money to make the connection and download my stock quotes successfully.     - Sorting the register I have been a Quicken user for about ten years, and have decided to give Money a whirl. One of the Quicken features that I really like the was the ability to sort the register based on that cleared status of any transaction. This view sorted the transactions first by reconciled transactions, followed by cleared transactions, followed by un-cleared transactions. This made it very simple to balance my checkbook to the banks online balance. Is there a way to do this in money 2004?     - Recording stock options money 2003 standard edition When entering stock option puts and calls, my portfolio shows these items as cents rather than dollars . This results in an incorrect total for the balance. Foe example, I pay $50 dollars for an option but it shows up as .50 cents thereby showing a loss of $49.50 rather than .50 cents.     - File needed to run the planner ... All, I keep getting the same error mesage: A file needed to run the planner is either missing or corrupted. To resolve this problem, reinstall Money and the reopen your Money file. Until today I was running a trial version where I'd say: 'OK ... no big plans to make for two months'.     - Limited User can't use Money I've installed Money 2004 in hopes to clear this same problem I had with 2001, to no avail. I installed Money 04 with my System Administrator acct. It works fine for me. But when my wife tries with her Limited Account, she cannot get access. How do I get her access to this program and data?     - Reverse a cleared e pay Money appears to have made an assumption that a telephone transfer of funds for coincidentally the same amount as a scheduled e-pay was correct. Because I cleared it near the date of the check I assumed that the transaction was valid ( I called my bank to ask why it cleared early and that's how I found out). Now I want to get rid of the "E", and change it to a funds transfer. The real payment will come through in a few days using the same check number. Anybody know how to fix this?     - Sync between Money 2004 and Pocket PC I have Money 2004 and have been able to successfully sync it with my pocket PC for over two years. All of a sudden, it will not sync. I receive the 'attention required' message. I've tried uninstalling the pocket pc software and reinstalling - no success. I've tried repairing the money file on the PC - no success. When I try and sync, the pocket PC doesn't even see the accounts. On the ActiveSync Options window, the settings button is greyed out when Microsoft Money Data is selected. If I understand how the sync works, it sync's with whatever money dataset was open last. If this is correct, then it won't sync with the sample database that came with money. Any ideas?     - Sold Stock Appears as Negative Income I entered data into Money 2002 about a stock sale. The sale appears correctly in the Account view - the Investment portion is lessened by the amount of the sale, and the Cash portion increases by the same amount. It also appears correctly in other places. But in the Income and Expenses graph on the Home Page, the amount of the sale is represented as a negative number in the income category - so it looks like I have negative income for the month. It seems not to have picked up on the fact that the amount of the sale was transfered into the Cash portion of the account.     - Money 2003 Reminder Question? In previous versions of Money, the Bill Reminder ran in the background and would actually remind me when a bill was due. Unless I'm doing something wrong, as close as I can come to that is to run Money Express which I have to remember to open to see if I have any bills due.     - Edit classification for multiple transactions? I have 6 months' worth of data entered in Money, and now feel comfortable enough to venture into the touchy topic of the monthly "who owes what to whom". Both my partner's and my accounts are all in Money, and I have decided to use a classification (For:Charles, For:Michael, For:Both) to label each expense. (Other suggested methods weren't appealing: creating duplicate categories like Food:Dining Out (Both), Food:Dining Out (Charles), and Food:Dining Out (Michael) would be a nightmare; and using splits on joint transactions to allocate half the amount to a separate "For Charles" or "For Michael" would require manually figuring out the split amount -- not having to do that is the reason I use software.) I'd love to know if the developers have finally revamped the Invoice Designer utility. Simply put, I think this business product is difficult to work with -- I would love to know if anyone has figured out the trick to desgigning an invoice/statement using FrontPage (or any other tool) directly. Some of my peeves include: 1) Using window envelopes and lining all forms up perfectly is a PAIN 2) The DESCRIPTION field allows for 255 chars, but truncates after 64.     - MS Money insists that a Mutual Fund is a Stock I have a Janus Funds Overseas Stock mutual fund account whose stock ticker abbreviation is JAOSX.     - CD backup - no balloon pop-up MS Money 2002, Windows XP. For several years, when exiting MS Money, I select to make a backup copy. In the past, after Money actually closes, a pop-up balloon comes out of the task bar, telling me I have a file waiting to backup to CD. I would then highlight the file and write it to the CD. All of a sudden, the pop-up balloon doesn't come on any more, which makes it more difficult to save it to the CD. How can I make the balloons automoatically appear again as a reminder? After reading about some problems with SP2 and Money 2002, I have decided
that I will uninstall Money first, install SP2 and then reinstall Money.

My question is, when I reinstall Money and open up my data file, will all of
my online backing links start to work again or will I have to set them up
again?

They should start working again. However I see no reason for
un-installing Money prior to installing service AP2. Most people have
not had a problem. If you have a problem it will be in the settings for
the firewall that can be turned off. And your method of uninstalling
and then re-installing probably will not result lowering the prbability
of having a problem.
