I bought Money 2002 a couple of years ago and never installed it (was using
excel). I just installed it yesterday and got the message that
"C:\WINDOWS\Installer\....\MnyIco.exe is not a valid Win32 application". I
called support (India) and could only find out that this product is not
supported. I know it is an older version, but I just opened the CD sleeve and
tried to install it. The box says it will work on Win XP and I am running XP
PRO SP2. Can anyone help?

Thanks

I vaguely seem to remember that M2002 requires that you have full Admin
rights to install/run. Does that fit?

I have not heard of that. Make sure you are installing and running
as an administrator.

You might try turning off hardware acceleration for you video for
troubleshooting purposes.

You might try installing from a clean boot.

You could try installing to a different folder.

I thought I had full admin priv set and am logged in as administrator. Maybe
I do not understand exactly how to do that.

I reread my original message and see that I left out an important fact. The
installation seemed to go ok. I got no errors. The error I reported showed up
when trying to load the program. The error appeared immediately and nothing
else appeared on the monitor.

Sorry if this was a misunderstanding.

I would try to create a new file to see if the problem is associated
with the file or the install. If it is the file, you will be trying
salv.exe. Keep an extra copy or two of your Money files.

Actually the reducing video hardware acceleration as a test could
also be useful, since it is simple.
