    - Cash Balances recalculating in Deluxe online portfolio I have an annoying problem with MSN Money online deluxe portfolio. I use it to track all my ISA and broker accounts and whenever I receive interest on a cash balance or a debit charge on one of those accounts I go into portfolio Manager and adjust the cash balance. When I edit the Current Balance in nthe Account settings the figure re-calculates as if the value is being translated into a different currency. e.g Current Balance shows: Â£4108.15; I edit this because of new cash to a value of Â£5000 but the value then re-calculates automatically to show Â£6,728.84.     - Bank statement will not download into Money Plus Deluxe Since September of 2007, I have not been able to download statements directly from one of my banks. I have tried the following solutions per Microsoft support and still problem persists: Method 1: Repair the Money file Method 2: Empty the Temporary Internet Files folder Method 3: Show Standardized Payee names Method 4: Delete the old statement and download a new copy of the statement Method 5: Verify the Microsoft Internet Explorer settings Method 7: Use standardized payee names Method 8: Remove and then reinstall Money When I am at the bank site, I click on OFX statement download and when I hit submit an Internet Explorer File Download box appears and it looks to be downloading a file indefinitely.     - Cash Transactions on Investment account Hello, I have an investment account, and I hate that Money Plus shows the overall "Account Value" as some small value. That is because the "Cash Transactions" counts against the overall value. So what is really worth $10,000 is shows the account value as $1,000 because the cash transactions are ($9,000). I see that under Account Settings I can remove the ability to track cash transactions. Since I am somewhat new to MS Money, will I regret not tracking cash transactions? I see that going this way will result in my inability to download transactions, but I guess I am willing to live with this?     - Money '07 crash on exit I just did a clean re-install of my Vista Ultimate X64. Money '07 Deluxe worked fine before I re-installed. Now it crashes on exit and will not launch again until I log off or end the msmoney.exe process in the Task Manager. I uninstalled it, cleaned my system and tried Money Plus '08 to no avail.     - Mini rant: Why does Money blank out my password when it can't contact the server? I just tried to open Money '07, it's about 11:00pm on Saturday night. All I wanted to do was enter some transactions into my register. What happens? I get an error message telling me that the password, which is current and correct, and remembered by Money, is incorrect and proceeds to erase it from its settings. Clicking the link for why, I'm told that "the server might be down". So why the *&*&^#%#*))_$@##@!#$ does it have to wipe my password if the problem is only that "the server might be down"? For that matter, why the *(&$*^#@$*&($%# does it even have to contact the remote server if I'm using Money on my local machine with a local database? It should only attempt to contact the server when I ask it to do something that actually requires a connection, like download statements, etc. Furrfu.     - Downloaded statements to read on 2006 Premium & Vista. Hello All, I recently got a new hp system with Vista Home on it. Well i got Vista BLUES NOW! So installed my copy of MS Moeny 2006 Premium in this system, and since i cannot download my bank statement into the program. 1st issue - i use citibank's website to download my banking activity. Internet Explorer open citi's web on a diferent screen, once i go to download activity it open like a zillion new screens that citi's web site logs me off. ----My work araound is to use the back browser button on the tab that is left and blank and download again from it to my desktop. i dont know about security but it works. 2nd Issue - once i click on the file that was downloaded - Money seem to recognize the new activity and show the number of activities to read per each account. If i click on any particular account to accept the transaction - I SEE NOTHING. Does anyone have an idea why this happens and how can i fix it. It will help my life.     - Exit Money warning In some previous versions of Money, if I accidently clicked on the "X" to exit Money, it warned me or ask if I wanted to backup Money or postpone. If I choose to hit the escape key, Money did not close and I could continue using money without having to log back into Money.     - Split Transaction in Deposit I currently have set up payroll deposit transactions for my wife and I, as well as separate transfers of payroll funds from our savings account to our checking and other savings accounts. When I attempt to set up a split transaction that includes the transfers with the deposits, the transfers show up as from the other accounts into our savings account.     - How to represent an investment like this? Here in Brazil we have somenthing called Poupanca. The literal translation is Savings The "Investment Income : Interest" comes after 30 day of investment. Then, in the same day of every month, we have another Investment Income : Interest Ex.: 01/01 - 10.000 deposit 01/02 - 100 - Investment Income : Interest of 1% - Total= 10.100 01/03 - 75,75 - Interest of 0,75% - Total=10175,75 And so on... Question: how do I represent this kind of thing in money? The only solution I found was to create a investment account and categorize this interest income as "Investment Income : Interest". This is not a good solution because I cannot track graphicaly how those rates varies each month. I cannot treat it as a stock because the value is a vague percentage and not an real value of a stock.     - MS Money 2002 (UK) - Investment asset allocation I would like to report on my investment portfolio by sector and geographical asset classes. If I hold investments in a UK smaller companies fund, a Global resource fund and US gilt bonds, I want to report on these assets based on their geographical locus (eg UK vs US vs global) or the sector into which they are invested. Is this possible in MS Money 2002? Asset class seems to be limited to a few pre-selected options and is only available for shares not managed funds and other investment types. The report by investment type is not good enough - needs further analysis for even small portfolios.     - Allocations by account I have Money 2004. I have more than one account, each with several mutual funds. When displaying thesse funds, there is a "% Portfolio" column that shows the % of one fund relative to all funds from ALL accounts. However that's not what I want.     - Changing Account Type from Bank to Investment (Money 2007) I have an existing account that is set-up as a Bank account. I would like to change it to an Investment account. There is a lot of history in this account so I really don't want to start over. I tried exporting and then importing into a new Investment account and that only partially worked as the imported account did not have the same balance as the original account I exported from.     - Mutual Fund Captal Gains, Individual lot cost basis I want to sell individual lots of shares of a mutual fund to calculate the capital gains rather than using FIFO or average cost. The problem is, that no matter what I do, I keep getting an average cost as the basis. I am using Money Plus deluxe 2008. The Investment settings seem to be set correctly. Anyone know of a solution?     - Restricted Stock Grant In Jan '08 I received Restricted Stock Grant from my employer which vest over 3 years. I searched through MSMoney help and was unable to find any assistance on how to enter stock grants. So I would like to document how I think I will have to enter the grant myself and get feedback from members on this group who know much more than me about MSMoney... 1) Enter the total number of shares granted as a stock option with 3 year vesting with a cost basis of $0. 2) Each year 1/3 of them vest and I will be taxed on that portion as ordinary income. At this point I have 2 choices: 3a) Have the broker sell the appropriate number of shares necessary to cover the tax on that income. I will enter the stock sell and allocate the proceeds to income tax withholding. 3b) Write a check for the tax withholding for the shares vested. If I do this, I *think* I will correctly record my taxable income, my tax liability and the cost basis of my shares/grants.     - Strange error message from Fidelity When I try to update my account with Fidelity Investment services tonight (yes the netbenifits side as all other accounts are working) I get the error message "Invalid Date Range". I turned on the registry setting to save the transaction files and found: From first RQ file <DTCLIENT>20080306004421.682</DTCLIENT> From the first RS file <DTSERVER>20080305194424.555[-5:EDT]</DTSERVER> From the second RQ file <DTCLIENT>20080306004425.198</DTCLIENT> From the second RS file <DTSERVER>20080305194427.081[-5:EDT]</DTSERVER> I checked the machine time and found it was approximately 7:44 pm on March 5th with day light savings time enabled. I also have set the Eastern time zone. I am running Money Plus Delux. I have not seen this before. Any ideas? I can send the files as they are small if that would help.     - Automated balancing I turned off Automated balancing, but I want to turn it back on. All of a sudden my transactions are not being downloaded. I have a WaMu account and I read on here that might be the cause, but it seems odd that the day I turned off Automated Balancing it stopped downloading transactions.     - Deleted account is still in the database I have Money Plus Deluxe and I have enabled downloading from my institution. My investment institution has several accounts, but I am tracking only a couple of them. Some new accounts then were added at the institution and when I downloaded additional â??newâ?? accounts were created automatically with transactions pending. I disabled the online download which terminated the statements with the new account. The new account was then deleted and the online download re-enabled and selected which accounts to download. The problem remains that even though the account is deleted, under Portfolio Manager the account is viewable and still there in the database. The account is also still visible under reports when doing a investment position report. I found that the positional report can be customized to get rid of the account on the investment position report similar to that of a â??closedâ?? account, but how does one get the account removed from the portfolio manager? It has added a lot of unwanted info that I thought I had deleted from the database and still remains. Evidently deleting the account does not really delete the account from the database. ( I also found that this account re-appears when getting the investment position information with the Ultrasoft Moneylink to Excel.) I have tried to delete the new account under other screens, but found that I cannot delete the account without deleting the other accounts that are tied to my institution. I also tried repairing the database with no luck. In my opinion the database is corrupted with unwanted information, but not corrupted in the data sense as this repairing of the database would fix the problem.     - how to include mortgage payment into reports I am trying to do a spending report and the only mortgage category I can get to show up is MortgageInterest, even though I have all categories selected. When I go into the details of my payment, the split is: Principal Transfer: xx Mortgate Interest: xx Real Estate Taxes: xx I can get Interest and Real Estate taxes to show up, but how can I get either the entire payment to show up in the spending report, or the "principal transfer", so I can see an accurate view of my monthly spending?     - Password Help I tried to work on my money file last night and it comes up with an error that says incorrect password. I know this is the correct password I just used it last week and signed in normal. My husband did a microsoft download a few days ago and I'm wondering if this affected the password. The error message talks about the "Live Password" which as far as I know, we've never set up....Is there a way to get around this???     - Duplicate Accounts when Online Update I have MS Money 2008 Home & Business. Windows XP-32 bit. When I first set up MS Money, the Online Updates worked fine. I bank with Wells Fargo and when I clicked update now, it would go out and update my Checking and Savings account ok. I have changed a few things, trying to config MS Money for 1st time use, and now when I update this bank account, it creates new accounts with a #2 after each one. I changed my user name and password, at Wells Fargo request. I went into MS Money, and Changed the account settings. Ever since then, the account just failed to connect. Tonight, I went to try it again, and it did this new account creation with the #2 at the end. Things going down hill fast. >< I did a merge of the two account, after changing the #2 accounts to Business accounts. It seemed to merge ok, and did not lose my Cat and stuff. I think I can go back to manually downloading the MSMoney file from Wells Fargo, but I bought this software to ease my financial burdens, not add to them. Anyone ever see this behavior? What settings can I look at? The Update Now option does not look very configurable. It just seems to go out to the bank, download the file and tries to guess.     - How do I return Essentials? How do I return Money Essesntials that I bought from http://www.microsoft.com/money/order.aspx? I did the free trial of Money, converted from Quicken and liked Money better. My free trial was about to expire, so today I clicked the "Purchase Money" popup, which took me to the MS web site where I could choose between a few different versions. I chose "Money Essentials" for $20, but now I find that it can't open the file I used in the trial. After some research on this discussion group, I realize I needed to purchase at least "Money Plus Deluxe" for $30. I'm willing to do that, but I don't want to pay $50 ($20 for Essentials + $30 for Deluxe). I see several comments to people with similar problems that say "Return Essentials and buy Deluxe" -- How do I return Essentials? checking account for a few months now. Looking at my account, I am
missing about a four day period. There are no transactions there at
all. I ran the quick repair on the file and deleted my temporary
internet files with no luck.

Any advice is very much appreciated.

I am having the same problem. I am using Microsoft Money 2007 Home & Business
and transactions for the month of February are not downloading even though
they have cleared my WaMu account. I ran the quick repair and deleted my
temporary files with no luck.

I have a WAMU that was originally a Providian card. I have always had this
problem. Some come through, some do not. some will come through 6 months
later. Since I only download to double check that I haven't missed
anything, it is no big deal. It would be WAMU's or Yoodle's fault not
Microsoft so there is really nothing that can be done I think.
