For the past few days I've noticed that my computer isn't remembering my
login information - I have to sign into my MSN Group everytime and even then
my email address isn't being remembered (same thing for non-MSN logins such
as Facebook, eBay, etc.) And then today I went to open Microsoft Money and it
(as usual) asked me to log in with my .net password. I clicked Work Offline,
like I usually do and I got a message that "Passwords for Microsoft .NET
Passports cannot contain special characters and cannot be blank. Enter a
valid password." I really don't want to work online with my Microsoft Money
(2005 Deluxe version) as I'm not really comfortable with the safety and
security of it. But, I can't open Microsoft Money unless I sign in now. Any
suggestions?? Thanks!

Perhaps, via System Restore, restore computer to a date prior problem.

You can remove your Live ID from your Money 2005 file. If you want
to remove the LiveId from a file you may have to turn off background
banking at Tools->Settings->AccessYourMoneyDataOnTheWeb, and then at
File-PasswordManager you can choose to remove your Passport. To add
or remove a conventional password, see File->PasswordManager.

I've tried that but it won't let me check off the box next to "Remove my
financial data from the MSN Money servers." And then if I try to remove it
using Password Manager it tells me that I need to first go through Tools,
Settings, Access your Money data on the Web. . .

Any ideas?

Aha! It wasn't actually connected. I was working offline but didn't realize
that I was - I assumed I was online since it was requiring me to login, but I
wasn't. Once I went online I was able to remove all of that.

Thank you!!!

I think that's what I'm going to have to do. I was trying to avoid it because
I can't remember what things I've updated or added since we started having
this problem, or even exactly when the problem started, but I guess I'll just
have to weed through everything and back-up and then restore and keep going
back in time until it seems fixed.

Thanks!!

Disable online access each account that is set up for online access.
Then try again. To cancel online service for an account,
AccountList->ManageOnlineServices. Click the account. Click
StopUsingOnlineServices.
