How can we skip the opening page "Sign in to open your Money file" and go
directly to the Account list.

As far as I know, there's no way built into Money. Are you sure you want
to do this? What about when your nosey brother-in-law comes to visit --
wouldn't a password be useful then?

You can automate all kinds of things with a keyboard simulator. I like
"PTFB"; it's simple and free. You can get it here:

I just checked, and they have converted "PTFB" to "PTFB Pro". The freeware
version is no longer available from the vendor. Get the freeware version
here:

Select
Tools->Settings->ProgramSettings->(Display:)StartMoneyWithThisPageOpen:AccountList

You can remove your LiveID to avoid sign-in:
See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/899631/
except item 1.b would be
Click "Receive account updates from MSN Money My Accounts".

File> Password Manager may help. Beware that removing the user ID
eliminates your ability to sync with certain banks, if you do that.

Hi Steve,
Thank you for your response, I am the only one using this PC so security
shouldn't be a problem.
Haven't yet tried the keyboard simulator, but it seems to open up all kind
of possibilities, so I'll give it a try.

Hi Cal,

I tried your suggestion several times, but the Account List is already
selected, but we still open on the Sign into ....

There was no Apply option to confirm Account List selected.

Hi Chris,

Your suggestion worked just great, our bank does not provide the sync
facility so nothing lost.

Many thanks,

Brian

It's precisely for banks that don't provide sync facility that a Live
ID is required, if Microsoft (through Yodlee) emulates sign-in to your
bank's web site for the purpose of downloading transactions. That may
or may not be useful to you. Some regular correspondents here eschew
any kind of online connections to banks, preferring manual entry. I
prefer to download everything I possibly can. It reduces my manual
data entry, increases data capture and, unlike some believe, reduces
errors.

That assumes your bank is is supported by MS/Yodlee. Not all are. The
list of supported banks is here:
http://www.microsoft.com/money/bankonline.aspx#1 If you click on a
link to a bank and it says "* This service is provided by a third
party provider ...", a Live ID is required; if it says '"Direct
Services are the fastest, easiest way to connect ...", a Live ID is
not required.

Of course, if you don't use either, or your bank is not listed, it
doesn't require a Live ID.

Hi Chris,

Our bank isn't listed and we have checked with them also, if this facility
becomes available we will consider using this service.

Thanks for all of your time, it is greatly appreciated.

Hi Chris,
Our bank is not listed, we checked with them also and they do not provide
this service. If it becomes available we shall use the Live ID.

Have learned a lot from our exchanges.

Many thanks,

Brian
