Does anyone know if my bank is not listed on the online
participating banks, can I manually enter my checking
account balances and have the software balance for me?
Also, my bank offers a text download of my account but I"m
not sure how to dump it into the Money 20004 program.

The answer to the first question is yes; the second is problematic and
probably not worth the effort.

If you really want to try the ascii download your easiest way would be
to import it inot Excel and then use a modified version of the excel to
qif (see the FAQ for sources) excel macro to write the qif file for
import into Money. May just be easier to print the ascii file and
manually import them.

Here is a solution:
1) import you text file into Excel
2) generate a .qif file with the free xl2qif macro:
http://xl2qif.chez.tiscali.fr
3) import the .qif file into Money

If you don't have Excel there also a version of xl2qif
for OpenOffice.
