Yes, it's very old but it did what I wanted it to. I have had to reinstall
my OS, and thus re-install Money 99, but since it can't download the
updates that were previously installed, it can't open my old files. Can
you point me to a location where I can get these updates?

I have tried the trial versions of the newer versions of Money, but they
won't read my files.

TIA

If you want to convert that file to a current version, see
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/913108/en-us

Thanks for your help, but all I get is this file was created by an
incompatible version. Would this be because I use a Canadian version of
Money?

Yes.

Check that your computer is set for Canadian regional settings
before trying to convert your Canadian Money 99 file with the Money
2004 trial or Money 2005 trial method. I understand that it is
probably already that way, but check anyway.

If, on the other hand, if the Money 99 might have been the US
version, you could try the US regional settings.

If it does not work with the Money 2004 trial you could try the
Money 2005 trial instead, and vice versa.

Good luck. I am not very optimistic.

And with good reason, it didn't help. I guess I am going to have to get
something else to use.

Thanks for your help anyway.

Sorry to hear it.

One more thing: is it possible that the original program was from
the UK or Australia or other non-US non-Canada country?

I would try the various Windows regional settings that might have
been used originally including a reboot for each try. Include
language and date format as well.

Note that during the process, a *.mn7 file should get created. That
is a copy of the Money 99 file that is being converted. I would make
sure you are starting with a fresh copy for each attempt. That is to
say that the first time you tried to convert Money 99 file
keith.mny, keith.mn7 would have been created. I don't know if
keith.mny would have been modified or not.

there are .MN7 files for each of my money files, bearing the same date &
time as the source files and of the same size.

Since I have not had any luck with any of the files, and it looks as
though I will have to start with something else, has MS stopped making
Non-US versions of this software?
