Does anyone know why Money 2005 will not restore my backup from a USB
thumb drive. The backup was made with Money 2004. The program goes
through the process and from 'properties' the size of the file would
indicate that the data is there but just won't display on the front
end. HELP..................! My life is in that backup and I'm stuffed
without it.
Thanks

I've never tried to restore a backup from a previous version of
money into a newer version. Generally the pattern is that you
migrate your .mny file (not the backup). If you have access to
your .mny file, then copy that file over instead of the .mbf file.
At that point, you'll be doing a migration of that file from the
Money 2004 format to the Money 2005 format.

If you don't have access to your .mny file, then uninstall Money
2005 and install Money 2004. Then restore from backup. This will
recreate your .mny file. At this point, if you want to go to Money
2005, you can install it and go through the migration process.
