It appears that Microsoft has removed from the 2006 version of Money some
features I found helpful. In liability/credit card registers, the credit
limits used to be displayed on the lower left side of the screen. In
investment accounts, the corresponding cash account balance would be display.
Now however, the system does not display this data nor can you turn it on.
Customer support said they removed this feature from 2006. I think that is a
mistake. Are there others out there that use to make use of this feature?

Support did say (I've not verified it yet) that they have restored the
selective archiving that existed prior to 2004 but was removed from the 2004
and later versions due to customer complaints (of which I was one) since
users who wanted to clear old transactions early in the new year archiving
created a myriad of recon issues as uncleared as well as cleared transactions
were deleted.

Unfortunately 2004 was the last good Money. Starting with 2005 it is
horrible. By the time I got thru with the tech service, it was a matter of
having to re-enter all the new items I had posted in 2005 or try to live
with a crappy product. The fix they put out only fixed some of the
problems, I still live with the rest (like random backwards posting of
investment transactions and no automatic updating of bank accounts on
startup - has to be done manually or leave it running for hours).

\Based on the intial upgrade problem I have experienced - i.e. 2003 to 2006,
I might not continue to use Money....might move to Quicken instead!!

Unfortunately, BOTH Money and Quicken made similar DISASTERS with their 2005
editions and Money has carried forward. I would be sure to read reviews of
Quicken BEFORE you buy it, unless they have a trial version also. You might
look at the reviews on Amazon.

Spend some time in alt.comp.software.financial.quicken before making a
decision.

Are there any other products besides Money and Quicken?
