I had a hard drive failure a couple of weeks ago, and after reinstalling
Money 2004 and restoring my documents (thank goodness for the external HDD
backup!), I'm having trouble logging into Money. I opened the existing Money
file, and everything seemed ok; it remembered my Passport ID just fine.
However, it's not accepting my password. Tells me "The sign-in attempt for
<<my passport>> was unsuccessful. Please try your sign-in name and password
again."

I know I'm entering my password correctly, since I use it routinely in
Hotmail. Is there some trick to doing what I'm trying to do?

Thanks,
Todd

FYI, one quick clarification. I opened Money using the "without using
Passport features" option, and it worked just fine. In fact, I forced it to
do an internet update, and my transactions came over just fine. Just seems
to be an error using the Passport features on login. I did have some sort of
error during installation, I think interference from my spyware. I'm
guessing that's my issue, huh? Any way to repair an installation?

Was that Norton?

Repair Money? Reinstall. Repair IE6? Repair XP?

Yes, it is Norton. Sorry for the vague question re. repairs. I was
wondering if a Money repair would fix the problem. I uninstalled Money then
reinstalled it, but I'm still having trouble.

Notice that I did not ask if you were running Kerio, Black Ice,
Kaspersky, Sygate, Zone Alarm, or McAfee.

I would connect thru a NAT router if not already. Make sure your
Windows updates are up to date. Uninstall Norton. (for some reason
"disable" turns out to be insufficient.

Get Money installed and working.

And then reinstall Norton if you like.
