Okay, I use M$2004 Deluxe. Today, it crashed on me just as I was hitting =
enter to submit a transaction. I got the typical Windows XP message of =
"this application caused an error causing it to shut down... do you want =
to submit a report to Microsoft... do you want to restart the =
application..."

Apparenlty when this happened the lrd file that locks the data file, did =
not release. So now I cannot get into my data file as it thinks it's =
being used already by another application. I also cannot delete the data =
file or the lrd file as both think they are being used by another =
application.

I had a backup of my file, so I can still access my data, but how do I =
get rid of these locked files now. I have tried to reboot and then =
delete them before any application is opened, but to no avail.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,
The Merg

How about rebooting in safe mode and then trying to delete the ird file.
Then perhaps a file rebuild...

Just a thought
