    - Money 2k8 Install Problem I've seen one or two other posts that mention this problem, but no real definitive solutions to it. In trying to install Money 2008, I receive an error message: "autotun.inf.file is missing or corrupt". I've tried to install on my home laptop, home desktop and work desktop. Get the same error message every place. Money 2006 had worked brilliantly until my '2 years' period expired. Figured I'd upgrade to 2008 since it's 'free after rebate' from Staples.     - Portfolio Buy Calculation Money 2004 If I send a mutual fund a check for $2,500.00 and their statement states that I bought 48.819 shares at 51.21 Money calculates a cost of $2,500.02 and puts that amount in my check register and my portfolio.     - Problem with Money--crashes on system startup and when you try to go I can get the exact version of Money this PC has (this just got handed to me and I can't get in touch with the owner of the computer), but the AppVer is 17.0.0.724. Everytime this system starts up, I get an error in Insights in Money. When I start up Money itself, the error shows in msmoney.exe. THe error signature is: AppName: msmoney.exe AppVer: 17.0.0.724 ModName: msofd.dll ModVer: 17.0.0.724 Offset: 000433d1 Money will not start. All Critical updates are on this computer, running Microsoft XP Professional SP2, and we have already tried repairing and also uninstalling and reinstalling Money to no avail. The first (USAA) downloaded the transactions, and they appear as capital gains, which is good. The second (Fidelity) did not download, and I can't enter them manually, because capital gains are not an accepted. (For this reason, I also can't edit the first transactions.) I'm using 2007 Deluxe, by the way. Any ideas how to enter this, so my tax software reports match the 1099's? I tried manually editing a qif file, but Money changed it. Money won't allow changing an investment type from mutual fund to money market (or vice versa). One idea I had was to enter a dummy mutual fund investment, record the capital gain distribution in that one, and record a buy in the money market fund, but that seems hokey. Anyone else have ideas?     - changing withdrawal date in epay I am starting to use Money Plus Deluxe to pay my bills online through my bank's bill paying service. The way my bank's service works is that I specify the date *when payment is due* (instead of the date I want the funds withdrawn). The bank sends the payment with enough advance time so that it is paid by the date I entered. This lead time varies by payee, so it is not always the same. When paying bills in Money, however, Money automatically subtracts a few days from the date I enter to calculate a withdrawal date, and sends the payment to my bank with this withdrawal date instead of the date i specified in the bill. The result is that payments are being sent a few days earlier than I specify when I enter a bill. Is there a way to make it so that Moneys' withdrawal date is the same date I enter when paying a bill (i.e. to prevent money from subtracting those few days when I enter a bill). I could not find a setting within Money to do this. Is there some other setting (liek a registry setting) that would allow this? Tag: Live ID Tag: 233551

    - Money 2007 and Janus investment accounts I just came across this annoying behavior. I recently purchased 4 Janus mutual funds and enabled MS Money to download the transactions directly from Janus. I expected the transactions to download into a single MS Money account. Instead they downloaded into 5 new Janus accounts in MS Money. Within Janus, each mutual fund holding seems to have its own account number. For example, my Janus Money Market fund has account number 11111111. Suppose I purchased Janus Growth and Income Fund. That holding is assigned account number 37,11111111. Suppose I also purchased Janus Risk-Managed Fund. Its holding is assigned account number 23,11111111. So the basic scheme is to prefix the base account number with a 2 digit number. Upon downloading into MS Money, an account was created for the Money Market fund and 4 more accounts, one for each of the new holdings. I tried the Merge Accounts command, but none of these accounts appears in the list. How can all of these transactions be downloaded into just one MS Money account?     - Capital One credit card doesn't work I am using Plus Deluxe, and I am having trouble adding my Capital One credit card account to my Money account. However, I think the problem may lie with Money. Read below for details. There are two separate online services you can enroll in at Capital One. One of them is for general banking (savings, checking, etc.) and is called "Capital One Online Banking." The other is called "Capital One Online Banking for Credit Cards" and is for credit cards only. These are completely separate, non-interchangeable systems. Capital One Online Banking: https://onlinebanking.capitalone.com/CAPITALONE/Enrollment.aspx Capital One Online Banking for CCs: https://servicing.capitalone.com/c1/Login.aspx When I received my credit card, I went to the Capital One website and enrolled in "Capital One Online Banking for CCs" which I use successfully to monitor my credit card. If I try to use that same login information with "Capital One Online Banking" I get the following message: "Online Banking is currently available for Branch Banking, Direct Banking, and Auto Finance customers only. If you are a Credit Card customer, click the button below to view your account online." (Clicking the button below takes you to the URL listed above for Capital One Online Banking for CCs.) The problem is that Money directs you to the wrong service when you try to enroll credit card accounts. That is, Money tries to use the "Capital One Online Banking" service when adding a credit card account instead of "Capital One Online Banking for CCs". Here are the steps I took when trying to add my credit card to Money: 1) From the main Microsoft Money screen, select "Set up a new account." 2) From the "Choose an account type" screen, select "Credit card." 3) From the "Select a bank or brokerage" screen, select "Capital One bank." (Note: this is the only option with Capital One appearing anywhere in the title.) 4) Select "Yes, I have sign-in information for the Capital One bank website, but I don't have special sign-in information for use with Money." 5) Select "I want to request sign-in information that I can use with Money. (recommended)". The next screen in Money displays the following: "Follow the instructions on your bank's website to sign up for online services with Money, and then close the website to return to Account Setup. Click Next to go to your bank's website." 6) I click Next and am taken to my bank's website to enroll in online services for use with Money. On the very first page on my bank's website, there is a link showing which accounts are and are not eligible for Capital One Online Banking. I quote: Online Banking does not support enrollment using Capital One Credit Cards. Again, the problem is that Money directs you to the wrong service when you try to enroll credit card accounts. Except for quotes, which I don't use, and Roaming features, which I have no idea what those are, Money 2003 apparently will never expire. So I should be able to download my bank statements and credit card statements into Money 2003 forever. That's the legal agreement that Microsoft and I agreed to when I installed the software.     - Money Reinstall Having some issues using a MNY file on a new install. We replaced a workstation that had MS Money 2002 Standard edition. Installed MS Money 2002 on the new pc, but when opening up the MNY file, it says it's corrupt. Went back to the old pc, and the file opens fine. As far as I can tell the versions are the same.     - Spending tracker: tracking budget categories? Hi, everybody! I've set up my advanced budget in M07, with some custom Budget Categories. Now I'd like to track spendings in the home page, but the Spending Tracker can not select Category: [All], only [All others] instead, or evry individual subcategory. Is there a way to track down all sub categories into one category? My money file has a lot of categories and subs, so keep track on the home page of every subcategory is stupid.     - Graphs missing under Research Wizzard I am new to the Microsoft My Money Plus 2008 program. When I bought my computer I received a free trial period of the 2007 Money program. I really enjoyed the program and when my trial period expired I decided to upgrade and buy the 2008 program. My problem is I am no longer able to see graphs in the Research Wizard program area.     - Money 2007 payee name management What is the best way to handle payee names and their variations? For example, I charge all of my gasoline purchases and typically fill- up at Raceway gas stations. After downloading the transactions each Raceway gas station appears with its own payee name, such as: Raceway 0001 Woodbridge Racewy 123 Edison ..... and so on I kind of like having this informatiion in the transaction register, but each one is a separate payee. At the same time I'd also like to group all of them under a single payee named Raceway. I started to use the automatic mapping of alternate payee names such as those above to the single payee named Raceway but doing so changes the payee names to just Raceway. In this example, I lose the location information (Woodbridge and Edison). I'm not sure which is preferable, having a single payee name for Raceway or a multitude of them. Please advise.     - Question about a S&S Budget I was wondering if it is possible to change the months tracked by my S&S budget. With the start of the new year, my wife started a new job and our budget has COMPLETELY changed. We have added expenses and changes in income. So I archived all my 2007 transactions and started a new budget. Unfortunately, when I click on the "Change time period" dropbox it only gives me the options to see current month, next month, and then months of the year 2007. I do not want to see them as there are no longer any transactions in my file. I can still select current year, but this is not sufficient. Here is an example of what I want to do. I want to be able to see what my budget will look like in April of 2008. I will not be able to see that until March, when April will be the "Next Month." Is there anyway to change my configuration? I contacted tech support, but his suggestion was simply to create a new file. This is NOT an option as I have about 15 accounts I would have to recreate. I know some of you will say to simply add the projected budget items to the Cash Flow list. I find that incredibly cumbersome and much more simple just to use the S&S budget view to track future cash flow. I look forward to any solutions and/or workarounds. Thanks again. Like an idiot, I tried to set up my MSM Money account to get online updates.
This required me to create a Live ID (hotmail username) and start typing in
my password whenever I run Money. As I should have expected, the automatic
updates function is horribe, so I de-activated it. But I don't know how to
stop Money from requiring a password whenever I log in now. Anyone know how
to de-activate that?

See if you have File->PasswordManager. Remove the LiveID. If not,
what version are you using?
