Investment Prices showing in Cents
Has anyone come accross an anoying problem with Money 99
where it show the investment prices in cents for some
days and not others. This occurs when I download overseas
share prices using the "Online Update" function. I live
in Australia and have some share in UK and use Money 99
to keep an eye on the prices. I have setup Money to
download the prices for both my Australian and UK shares
at the same time. Everything is fine with the local
(Australian)shares, but my overseas shares seem to
download in cents (eg 933) for some days and dollars (eg
9.33) for others. I then have to manually change the cent
figures to dollars for those incorrect days. Pretty
anoying. I'd be very gratefull if anyone has a solution

Money 2004 and Remote Desktop
I have installed MS Money 2004 on a Windows 2000 machine.
I like to connect to the Windows 2000 machine using the
Remote Desktop feature.
When connecting through Remote Desktop, I am unable to
open Money. When Money 2004 attempts to access the file
it reports that the file name has improper characters.
When I open the same file from the console, it opens
fine. Lastly, if I remote desktop in as administrator,
Money 2004 opens the file as well.
Any ideas?

Please help with Currencies
A month or so back I started using MS Money 99. I'm a resident of India and
the first problem I encountered was that there was no mention of India or
Indian Rupee in the list of countries and their curriencies supplied with
money. However I got around that problem by adding the Indian Rupee (Rs.)
from the 'add new currency' option but I could not add India to the
countries list. The next big problem appeared when I tried to open an
Investment A/c in Money 99. The Wizard always asks for a country and there
is no mention of India in the list. Is there a way I can include India in
the countries list or do I have to upgrade? Even if I upgrade, is India and
Indian rupee included in the countries and currencies list in the newer

does anyone know how to enter imputed income on a salary stub transaction in
money 2002? (or any version for that matter).......i know that i can
create/enter the category, but it's not showing on my M2002 tax statements.

Short Term Deposit
THis is most likely a really stupid question with an easy
answer. How do you set up a bank short term investment in
Money 2000? What type of investment would this be? There
are no shares etc. It is straight cash invested ie
$10,000 with a bank for 6 months at 8% (for example). We
then get the initial principal (10,000) back and interest
earned.
Any help would be appreciated. Online and manual have
been exhausted to no avail!

For several years I was able to update stock through AOL.
Now all of a sudden it will not work. It just shows a
screen saying it is updating but it never ends. Anyone

help file, then the program just stops responding at any
level.
Since I do not want to entrust financial data to something

I'm not sure how to categorize the money I got from a loan. I took out a
home equity loan to consolidate two auto loans. The money was placed in my
checking account. I categorized as Auto loan. Now when I do a report on YTD
expenses Auto loan is by far my biggest expense. It really isn't because
I'll make monthly payments. Additionally, it shows up as income, it isn't
income. It's a loan. Is there a better way to do this to get realistic
graphs and reports?

How to list accounts and their last balanced on date?
Hi,
Is there a way to list accounts and the date they were last balanced
on? I have many accounts stored in MS Money and many times I forget to
reconcile some infrequently used accounts for months. Sometime it then
becomes too late to figure out the missing transactions to bring the
accounts upto their latest balance. I was hoping there would be a
report which can tell me all open accounts and the date they were last
balanced on instead of opening each account individually. BTW, I have
MS Money 2001 SE.

Merging stock
I am using the Canadian version of MS Money 2004. I am
attempting to merge a stock and have followed the help
directions:
1. On the Investing menu, click Portfolio .
2. In the left pane, click Record a special activity , and
then click Record a merger .
3. Follow the instructions on the screen.
I get stuck at option 2. as there is no "Record a Merger"
option, just transfer and record a split.
Confirm please that this option is not available in the
Canadian version, though I can't imagine why.

Money 2004
I upgraded from MS Money 2003 to 2004. Every time I try to enter data
the program freezes. When I close and reopen the prog the data is there.
I've repaired the thing 3-4 times. Any ideas? Certainly don't want to

My e-mail box has been bombarded with Virus loaded e-mails

Export account to Excel
I want to export my account transactions to Excel.
From the help file, it looks like you can only export
reports to Excel, but what I am really interested is to
have line by line transactions in a spreadsheet.
So, is there a way to create a report that will look
exactly the way the account transaction page look like (I
dont know how to do that), or is there any way we can
export a file directly from the transaction page.

I need a realistic view of expenses or I'm Qbooks bound....

I'd really value some help:
I use Quickbooks for my business and am used to getting a
bill, posting it on an accrual basis, and then paying it.
This gives me a true understanding of my budgets.
Although Money (and Quicken)has a fantastic interface,
that enables me to download xactions directly from my
accounts, it doesn't give me a true picture of my
expenses, so as a budgeting tool -- unless I'm wrong --
it's worthless.
Example: My daughter goes to daycare. I have to pay
$3,000 for five months at the beginning of the year --
September. Because Money only shows budgets on a cash
basis, my September budget statement shows a huge
expense. And my statments for October - January show no
expense. Because this goes on for so many accounts, my
budget statements are completely worthless to me in terms
of understanding what I'm spending and modifying this
behavior.
Someone, please advise. Do I need to ditch Money and go
to Quickbooks to get what I need? I'd hate to give up
all the Money features, but a true understanding of my
financial situation is essential.

Talk Money OR Go Somewhere Else
It really stinks that over half of the posts in Money
Central and Money have NOTHING to do with MS Money or MSN
Money. When I belonged to Compuserve a few years back, the
forums were FANTASTIC. Almost every post stayed on topic,
every post was answered by at least l person, usually
several, and there were users (Like MVP's) that could tell
you anything. You learned quickly who could give you an
answer-I totally depended on that forum to keep 20+
computers trouble free.
Does anyone know of a forum like that??? This forum is not
cutting it. Not only do half my posts go unanswered, there
is more junk mail than I wish to have to deal with.

how do you enter transactions online or it's not possible to do it? I know
Quicken has a web entry feature that if you are out travelling and don't
have your money file with you, you can enter transactions online and
download to your original money file later.

Quicken 401k to Money 401k
Just replaced my Quicken with Money 2004. Everything converted well.
Only thing I can't figure out: I have an account "My 401k" ... in
Quicken.. part of my paycheck deductions include a transfer to the
401k account. I set the account in Q to be included on tax reports.
Money however, shows the account but no income deduction in tax
manager or tax estimator. How do I tell Money that the 401k funds

Caution - 3rd party backup programs eg Veritas cannot backup the *.mny file
if downloads are scheduled -mnyschdl is a running task. Veritas finds the

Cannot seem to create cutomized invoice properly
OK --
Running Money 2004 for first time tonight. Seems to work
adequately.
Tried to customize one of the canned portrait formatted
invoices (only deleted a couple items from being printed
and modified fonts for now). Save as new template. When
I go to print an invoice with the modified template - it
shows invoice wrong in print preview mode and prints wrong
as well. Although the template is a portrait formatted
template and it shows the template in portrait mode - but
it turns the paper to landscape mode! Soooo... only half
of the invoice is printed sideways on the sheet of paper
with lots of white space. If you use a canned portrait
invoice without modifying it - it prints just fine. Once
you edit it - it buggers the formatting. How do you get
around this? Or is this just a new and improved print
preview bug?

System date error on Money 2004 trial.
I downloaded the trial version of Money 2004 Deluxe from MS's website and
installed it. It soon became apparent that it was a US specific version so I
uninstalled it and located the trial version of the UK specific one.
Unfortunately, Money isn't happy, and every time I start the application, it
reports that the system date is set earlier than the date on which I first
used Money (it isn't).
Any suggestions on how to get around this? I really would love to try it
out.
