My wife and I have two seperate retirmement accounts and a joint brokerage
(with different login IDs) at fidelity. So, whenever we log into fidelity
website using either one's login Id, we see our own retirement account + the
joint brokerage account in the portfolio.

So, I went in first and using my own fidelity login Id downloaded the
statements to setup my new money accounts in Money 2006. And it worked as
expected and pulled in my retirement + our joint brokerage account and
created corresponding two new investment accounts in money.

Now, I went back and tried to create new Fidelity investments account using
my wife's userId. This time, again, it pulled down two accounts (my wife's
retirement and the common brokerage account).

Problem is, money wants to create a brand new account for the same joint
brokerage account that I already have setup against my user Id. Moeny 2006 is
not allowing me to:

a) map the second time newly downloaded joint account with the correponding
existing money account (since it is already setup against a different online
update user id).

b) doesn't let me manually delete the redaundant additonal money account
created the second time. If I try to delete it, then it also wants to
delete my wife's retirement account as well which I don't want to.

I think someone must have come across this issue before and wondering how to
handle it?

thanks
sri

With Money Plus (not sure about Money 2006, you would let it create
the duplicate account. Then from the account list, right -click
where it says you have transactions to read for that account, and
delete the statement. Then *Close* the duplicated account. Money
Plus should not try to download statements into that closed account.

Be prepared to restore a backup, to undo, if this does not work well
for you.

I agree completely with Cal's solution. I did this with Money 2006 when I
had a similar situation with Fidelity. It has continued to work with each
subsequent versions. I named the second account as Fidelity Stock Bogus
Duplicate account. As Cal said. Once you let money create it you need to
close it so that it does not download or appear in your reports.

Thanks to you both.

I did "exactly" what Cal suggested and I am finding Money STILL downloading
the statements for the "closed" Duplicate account.

what am i missing?
