I changed from Quicken to Money Deluxe 2004 and, initially,
encountered some difficulties that I attributed to the
transition learning curve. Later on, I realized that I did
myself an injustice because through careful trial and error I
concluded that the difficulties were ridiculous bugs in the
software.
The most annoying was the impulsive decision of Money to
all-of-a-sudden start recognizing downloaded entries as
reconciled, despite any instructions from me to do so. The
problem was insoluble and I had to altogether abandon monthly
reconciliations. This month (October, 2004), I upgraded to
Money 2005 Premium in the hope that Microsoft had fixed the
glitch, but that was wishful thinking.
Moreover, when I searched the last six months of postings to
this newsgroup, I learned that this fucking problem has been
around for several years and that nothing has been done about
it, except for the lip service being paid to it by the regular
Microsoft fart catchers that offer their geek responses to the
posters. Even worse, I cannot believe the litany of bugs that
users are encountering and to which there has been no
responsible response by Microsoft - no patches, no download
upgrades and, in some cases, not even a recognition that the
bug exists.
For me, returning the product is an unsatisfying step in lieu
of the stress and inconvenience with which I have been
assaulted. I cannot believe that so many people can be so
accepting of the sadistic, deliberate and criminal
incompetence of a corporation that is clearly no better than
Enron in its attitude toward its clients.
God Bless America and may he fuck Bill Gates, real good.
