Whether it be monetary,the family,(usually the relatives) car problems,or the joys of home repair. Like the time the furnace unexpectedly went kaput and it was over $2500 to replace it,and the mortgage was due next week.You know, just small little things like that.(Ya Right!) but we made it somehow. Then one afternoon,my husband received in the mail,an invitation to attend his 20 year highschool class reunion back East. After discussing it,we thought it would be great to go back & visit,see what's changed and meet some of the folks we new. So we made plans to go, never expecting that the secret I would learn there,would end up changeing our spiritual and financial life forever,but it did! At Steve's(my husbands)class reunion that evening,I had an unexpected conversation that I'll never forget. While my husband was talking with some of his buddies about old times,I ran into Janet,(an old girlfriend of mine in Steve's class) who I'd lost track of, when she married and moved to Arizona years back with her husband Bob.We started to talk about our kids, the family, what we've been doing, where we've been on vacation, and all the usual stuff that girls talk about when they haven't seen each other for years.She told me that she was also an at home mom,and that she enjoys being able to help out with several of their communities local fund raising events.Janet told me how blessed they felt with the opportunity to financially be able to give more to several deserving charity's and other worth while causes.     - Asset Allocation Chart I am using Money 2004. Have few mutual funds entered in M-2004 but the asset allocation pie chart displayed is wrong. I am unable to fix by manually changing it. I thought if you give the ticker symbol. Money will be intelligent enough to grab the information from the Net and update the chart properly. For example - For the Total Stock market Index fund -- pie chart shows all the fund as part of Large Cap. It should split it into Large, Mid and Small cap looking at ticker symbol. What's the best way to record the purchase of physical assets like tools? I currently purchase a tool, like a table saw, with my business credit card, categorizing the transaction as "Transfer : Business Assets". This is good, because the Asset account shows up properly in a Profit/Loss statement. It's bad that the transaction does NOT show up in the Tax Software Report at all.     - Reversing an automatically balanced account I ran into a problem in recent weeks. I import my transactions from CITI and US BANK and they come in as reconciled and Money shows that the account was most recently balanced at the time of the import. This started happening after having to reload Money Deluxe 2005. This is rather annoying since I balance all my accounts off of paper statements just as a sanity check. The "Automatically mark accepted transactions as reconciled" option in the online services setup menu is unchecked. I need 2 things done: 1. Stop Money 2005 from automatically balancing the account upon import of financial data. 2. Reverse the balanced account so I can go back and balance the account manually against a paper statement.     - How to handle a tax free exchange I have a socially responsible mutual fund (Parnassus Equity) that has allowed me to exchange my regular shares to those in an institutional fund in a transaction with no tax consequences. The share ratio is 1.0003883956:1.0000000. The symbol is different for the two funds. (Note that I still have the old fund in my IRA account, as I don't have enough shares to qualify for the institutional fund in that account).     - M2004 - Can I sell "lots" in IRA account ? I know taxes aren't an issue in an IRA, but for the first time in a long time I sold some stuff earlier this week in my IRA. AND it was not the entire position. When I enter it into Money, I do not get an option to select the lots ( just so I can see " how I'm doing" in the GAIN column). I right-click - SELL - and no option to choose lots. I don't have FIFO selected and this is the first time in a while that I've sold in my IRA. I checked the past entries but it was always a sale of the whole postion so LOTS didn't matter. In my regular account, "Lots " worked a few months ago. I just opened the register for that sale and I can "reallocate lots", so the function works. But does it work for non-taxable accounts ? I tried Money HELP but no mention either way .     - Wont accept any transactions with a check number I have an unusual problem. When I download my statement, I cannot get Money 2006 Deluxe to accept transactions with a check number. The accept button doesn't do anything. Clicking on change allows you to leave it unmatched. Trying to match it to itself doesn't work. As a workaround, I leave it unmatched, reset the unmatched info to match the correct item and then delete the previous entry. I have tried doing an uninstall reinstall, repair both quick repair and the more indepth repair. Is there anything else I can try to make this work?     - money file too big and more... Hi, I've been a loyal Money user since the first version. My money file is now 52mb. Archiving doesn't help (goes down to 41), probably because there are so many investment transactions in there and they don't get archived. I am currently using 2003 and tried to upgrade to 2005, but my balances all ended up incorrect. Any way I can continue with my current file or do I have to start from scratch with a new file? I'd like to stick with Money, but if I have to start all over again anyway, it would be a good time to look at other programs. A few years ago, everything was great, I loved Money, and really loved the portfolio manager. Then this all seems to have fallen apart with synchronization problems with MSN money, etc. Besides wondering what to do, I'm wondering if serious investors are happy with the current version of Money?     - Error during installation Hi, I try to install MS Money on my PC and I get immediately the following error message: "We're sorry, but you do not have power user or administrator privileges on this computer. Please have someone with power user privileges on this computer install money." It makes no sense, because I'm an administrator and it must be a common problem because I get this message with Money 2005, 2006 (trial versions too). I tried to install Money with some other power user but I didn't succeed. And what is interessting I know the reason (from the user side) of this problem. I get this error ONLY when I change the default "Program files" drive letter form "C" to "D" during unattended WinXP (SP2) installation.     - Portfolio not updating stock prices properly Some of my stocks in my portfolio do not update prices throughout the day. Some do, but most do not, including HD, T, ... ones that I know have the correct symbol inputted. For instance, at 7PM, when I look at my portfolio, most of the stocks list the days gain as unch, and still list yesterday's closing price (which didn't update until sometime late the night before). For those stocks, I never have a day's gain listed, because when the price finally updates, it's a new day!! Strange but true...any suggestions?     - Broker statement downloading I find that some of the OPTIONS downloaded from the broker statement do appear in the list of transactions but are absent from the Portfolio summary of that period. Apparently Money did not recognise those transactions as OPTIONS and therefore did not record them accordingly. Please advise how to fix this problem so that Money recognises these transactions as securities. Further more please advise if it is possible to edit the properties of any particular security i.e. change the ticker symbol or change from PUTS to CALLS et The dialog "More ivesting tasks - View all investment activities" presents a list of securities to choose from.     - Portfolio - updating funds I am suddenly experiencing problems with MSN Money updating certain fund prices properly. Hi guys- I have an investment account with MB Trading and it used to be that I could update by account automatically through Penson Financial Services (online.penson.com). MB Trading just recently updated their site so I no longer need to (or can) log in directly on penson's site and now my info won't download either.     - Archive Question Hi, archived my transactions in Money 2004, I had tried to restore them using the method in the help file, but had so many duplicates I gave up. I have since up graded to 2006.     - Account Type Hi, I had an insuranc epolicy in India before coming to Canada. There the premiums are invested in various funds. Every day the unit rate of the fund fluctuate. Now which type of fund this would fall so that I can track my funds in India. Similarly I opened another Universal Life Account, premiums paid on monthly bases. Just make sure you have a Business or Premier account or you may be subject to a monthly income limitation which may slow this program down. Send a $5.00 dollar donation from your PayPal account to THE FIRST e-mail address on the list along with a note saying "Please add me to your list." Now send the other $5.00 donation and an e-mail to the 5th person on the list saying "Thank you, I've joined." Remove the 1st e-mail address and place your address at the bottom. This! Moves the 2nd to 1st, 3rd to 2nd, 4th to 3rd, and the 5th place into 4th. DO NOT TRY TO PLACE YOURSELF IN THE FIRST PLACE. IT WILL ONLY REACH THE PEOPLE YOU SEND IT TO, AND THEN YOUR NAME WILL BE REMOVED FROM THE LIST! I know that or maybe you have seen or heard of this on Oprah or even received numerous messages about this simple program and have probably just deleted them.     - 401K Mutual Fund Manual Price Updates I have a 401K that tracks NAV of the funds differently than the prices auto-downloaded by Money for the same symbol (don't ask me why???). I have turned off Auto-Update of those funds so I can manually update the fund prices myself. The problem is that no matter how many times I try to delete previous on-line price updates, they remain with the Fund. This is kind of minor, but also kind of annoying. I've learned when I add a new fund to this account to disable price updates before my next update and this works for new fund additions, but the old funds are still maintaining those on-line price updates. What's weird is a lot of the prices are from dates before I even initially purchased the funds in the account. I have run the Clear Historical prices and everything else I could find.     - Deleting unncessary stuff How do I delete payees who are no longer active? Similarly, how do I delete the autofill for accounts that no longer exist. For example, I used to have something called "Old account" and now, it is closed. Now, I have "Old OSHA account." Everytime I type "Ol..." it starts with "Old account"--I have to keep typing all letters until "Old O..." shows up. It's just annoying. We upgraded to Money 2004 and now we can not do our invoices anymore. We run
a home business and Money 99 was ideal for the small invoices we generated.
Does Money 2004 offer this inovice facility as I have looked and can not find
a way to create an invoice on Money 2004

Depending on your geography the answer may be yes. Non-US hasn't had a
Business version since M2004. US current version M2006 has a Business
