    - icon on desktop gone! I closed my Windows XP, Microsoft Money (2001) file name xxxx with "Don't backup". The Icon has disappeared from the desktop and windows can't find the file! HELP!? Tag: Invoice Tag: 168508

    - Late-Clearing check downloading from bank as duplicate I have MS Money 2000 Standard Edition Version 8.0. I paid a bill in March and entered it manually -- check number, date, amount and everything. When I download the transaction from the bank, it enters as an additional check with the same number and the date that it cleared the bank. It took over two months for the check to clear. But, shouldn't MS Money recognize the check by check number and NOT include it as a 'new' transaction?? I've tried deleting the manual entry and correcting the date on the downloaded entry.     - Sales Ledger & Bank Charges Hi all, I have Money 2004 SB Edition. My situation is: I issue an invoice to a customer an amount X. The custom pays my internet merchant who takes a percentage A and leaves me with an amount Y. I then receive a cheque from the internet merchant and deposit it in my account. My bank then removes some charges B and gives me the rest amount Z. Sad :) Anyways, What accounts/categories do I need to set up and use in order to have the following: 1.     - Which version? Hi, I have been using an old version (pre Y2K) of Money for years for doing my small business accounts and it has been basic, but great. But I upgraded my pc so I bought Money 2004 (standard). Unfortunately now I have it out of the box I've found that it is no good for my small business, as unlike the old version I have been using, it doesnt calculate sales tax for each transaction/category. I need this for my 2 monthly sales tax reports. So, to save time downloading and installing each version, can anyone tell me which version(s) allow sales tax reports by category? Then (hopefully) they are available in my country (New Zealand) - all I have been able to find so far is 2004 standard.     - Still Crashes! Any ideas? One more thing I thought I would mention. Money express still works fine with the .mny file that will not open in money 2004. I also can't create a new file with out the crash. See "Still No Luck!" and "Error Money encountered a problem" from the 26th and 25th respectivley for the other details.     - Recommend an Internet Bank? My bank recently switched from allowing me to pay bills and download transactions from within Money to requiring me to download statements and pay bills exclusively from the bank's website. It is a real pain, compared to the prior convenience. Now I am having trouble finding another bank that will let me use MS Money to its fullest extent.     - ALC<402c> code in balancing the checkbook I am getting this code showing up in both the service charge and interest amount boxes when balancing my checkbook in Money 3.0 with Windows XP OS. Currently after leaving the balancing function without completing it, I cannot get by the first window, when returning, because the ALC<402c> is in light gray and not accessible. The program will not let me continue because it says ALC<402c> in not a valid entry. But I cannot get rid of it. Any ideas?? I have tried re-loading the Money program which did not solve it.     - How can I download Money 2003 Deluxe? I'm user of Money 2003 Deluxe. I perchased Money Deluxe 2003 English Upgrade From Money Trial. I deleted the setup file by mistake. Hence, I tried to find the Money 2003 Deluxe in the MS sites. However, I couldn't find. I want to reinstall Money 2003 Deluxe. I have the activation number. How can I download Money 2003 Deluxe?     - M04 will not open When I attempt to launch MS Money 2004, I get the following error message: "Money has not installed correctly. Try installing again. Or, if you have installed from the Internet, make sure that you have downloaded all the components you need to run." I have tried reinstalling several times and I have turned off any virus software I have. I do not get any error message while loading the program from the CD-ROM to my hard drive.     - Restore Backup Problems My hard drive recently crashed. Lucky for me, I always backed up my data to a floppy. UNLUCKY for me, when I try to restore the back up, I get an error message that says the file is either corrupted or not a Money backup file. There are three other files on the disc (all word .doc files) and they open without any problems. Anyone have this problem or know of a possible remedy.     - Budget amounts wrong, Please help!! Here is my delema. In Microsoft Money 2004 I have set up my budget and all was great until I was reviwing my current budget status. Under some of my expenses it shows the budgeted amount as double what (and sometimes triple) what it should be. If I choose one of these items and click edit it shows the box with the choice of editing "a Bill in this category" or "An additional expnese in this category" Under "a Bill in this category" it has a pull down menu and it shows the same item more than once. Only one of the identical choices can be used and it shows the correct information. When I go back to see if my budget is correct it shows only the correct amount. Please someone I would love to fix this problem if possible.     - Automatic Invoicing Is there a way with MS Money 2004 SBE, to have invoices renew themselves every 30 days, or have the bills/deposits list use the account recevables account so that transactions in the bills/deposits list can count as accounts recevied.     - How can I add my bank's logo? In Money 2004, I have various accounts set up with different banks. Some banks have their logo displayed on the left sidebar when you click for informaton about the institution, but some don't.     - Still No Luck! I really appreciate all the tips but, none have worked. I tried to call Microsoft who sent me to HP who sent me to some call center who I was on the phone with for an hour and then got disconnected. This is what I have done. 1. Attempt to use repair utility: found no errors - no luck 2. Uninstall/Reinstall: several times no errors - no luck 3. Open Money with sample: works fine with sample 4. Try to create new file: new account wizard works until you click finish and then I get the same error 5. Try to open back up file: error every time 6. Try to manually register mspfctl0.dll: "LoadLibrary ("mspfctl0.dll")failed - The specified module could not be found. 7. Clear temp folders in documents and settings - no luck The HP guy was starting to talk about some internal database in XP before we got disconnected. I was on the phone with him an hour and he had just basically read this site to me.     - Cannot delete draft Greetings, By mistake, I saved an EPay I was working on as a draft. I later deleted the transaction from the electronic transaction queue.     - Work on M04-Dlx file temporarily with M04-demo or M04-Standard? Any information would be appreciated on my question: Till a week or two ago I was running Money 2004 Deluxe and my computer's disk drive died. Luckily I learned from a system crash last year to backup my data almost every day, so my backup was only a day old when the computer crashed. Unfortunately, I am not able to locate my Money 2004 Deluxe CD at the moment (it's in storage somewhere). I have two options: 1. I bought a new PC to replace the one in which the drive crashed, and I got Money 2004 Standard with it. Should I try importing the M04-Dlx backup data file into M04 Standard? Will I lose information from the backup data file? Can I then bring the file into M04-Dlx when I do find my software? 2. Should I download the M04 Deluxe demo (if any, haven't checked) and use that till I find my CD and am able to install it?     - Multiple Paychecks? Hello, I'd like to know if Money (any version) can correctly match two paychecks in the same deposit if I download the transactions from my bank? I have one paycheck that gets deposited weekly, and the other bi-weekly. So twice a month there are deposits with multiple paychecks.     - Internet Connections / News Updates Money 2004 I know that my internet connection works. I can view webpages with IE and also Money 2004. When I click on the update now links the message says that it goes through but the updates are not showing up. Also, when I am trying to setup my passwords for my bank accounts it needs to connect to the internet but It says I have no internet connection set up. I am using Adelphia Cable as my ISP. I contacted them and they say it is not their end why Money cant connect. I was given a cd to automatically setup my internet I did not manually configure anything.     - Money expiration feature I searched the newsgroups and really couldn't get a clear answer to my concerns. I know that 2004 has this expiration feature. Will this feature affect Money 2002? In other words if it is inevitable that the 2002 version's online services will expire before or at the same time as 2004 I may as well upgrade to the newer version.     - One Bank, 2 Accounts, 2 Different logins Hope this hasn't been posted before. I did a search and did not find it. I have 2 accounts with the same Bank but I have a different login id and pass for both accounts. How can I set it up to download for both accounts?     - MS Money 2004 Start up I've been using Money 2004 for over 6 months with no problem. Now when I attempt to open the program from the desktop, I get this error message - "Microsoft requires some components of Internet Explorer 6 to function properly. Please reinstall Internet Explorer 6 so these components can be added". I already have installed IE 6 several times to no avail. If I reboot, I have no problem opening the money 2004 program.     - Stocks for newbies Hey guys, I'm looking for resources about trading stocks. I'd like to understand more about it, what some of the different terminology etc is, and those sorts of things. Also, if any of you currently buy and trade, which online site do you use (if you don't know a broker personally) and do you use any software for quotes aside from the online site you use. How real time are the quotes you receive etc. I assume websites like ameritrade and etrade etc are supposed to be "realtime" give or take a view seconds...? What about software like Personal Stock Monitor? Currently I was just checking out the ameritrade site, but I'm not sure if I'm understanding it correctly. I was expecting buy/sell commissions to be a % of the transaction, but if I'm reading right, it looks like it's just a flat fee?     - Back up to CDRW I have been backing up my Money 2001 to a CDRW. (It was taking too many floppies) Recently, though, once I back up the CD will not eject from the machine. I manually remove it but when checking the F. drive, it shows that the information is still there. It remains there until I shut down and start up the computer again Note: This did not happen before and I was backing up successfully onto the same CD for a while. It just started doing this the past month or so.     - balancing credit card I paid off a credit card some time ago so that my balance is currently $0. I was reviewing my accounts and noticed that the new balance was not carried to money.     - mergers I'm using Money 2004 Standard OEM version, and I need to record a merger. Money's help file tells me to display my portfolio and then, from the left-side menu, click "Record a Special Activity" and then choose "Record a Merger".     - Category bugs My Money 2004 crashes when I try to delete specific categories and their subcategories. For instance, for a category that I have named 'Household Cash', in the details window for that category, a tree of subcategories is listed that I did not create, and I cannot delete them either. There are no transactions associated with this category and its subcategories either. These subcategories seem to have been spontaneously created by Money by grabbing names from the category list, because these new subcategories share the same names as those in the category menu. I have done a bit of renaming of categories and have shifted some transactions around, but I don't think any of these functions would have created this bug. Any help would be appreciated.     - MM2003 Transaction download I am using Money 2003 Deluxe on a Windows ME machine. I cannot download statements or transactions into Money from 3rd party websites that support Money downloads. I get an error that says "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permission to access the item." Anybody know of a fix?     - Where is Budget amount hiding? Using Money 2004: I have a budget category, call it widgets, that shows a budgeted amount of $12,000. When I go to review your budget status and click on expenses, the Widget category shows $0 budgeted. If I check the budget details, for widgets it shows $12000. If I click "View Transactions" nothing shows up. If I click on "Edit", it says "A bill in this category" is Widget($4000/Monthly). If I click OK (to edit) nothing comes up. I believe this information might be from an earlier bill that was changed (or deleted) and is no longer available. Where is it hiding? Does this require a "Repair" Along the same type of thing under the file menu. I had some earlier files I deleted, but they remain listed under the File menu, and do not disappear when an attempt to access is made and no such file found.     - How do you match invoice payments Hi, I am trying to match my invoice payments to the downloaded deposits and 'invoice payment' category is not in the list of transactions eligible for matching. What is the best way to match my invoice payment to the downloaded statement? I use a printed invoice form which I use to fill by
handwritting. Now I'd like money 2004 SB to fill it in but
the invoice designer forces me to use those preformatted
layouts.

How can I create a template from scratch in a way that my
printer would print exactly inside each field of my old
invoice form?
