 - Can't undo a scheduled bill in the budget In Money 2004, I have a category that used to have a scheduled bill. I've since changed the bill amount and category using the "bills" section. But the bill still shows up in the budget: old amount, old category. So my budget is skewed by exactly the amount of this old bill. Trouble is, I can't find the old bill anywhere else to delete it. If I edit the category in the budget, money doesn't show the monthly charge. If I go to bills, this old bill doesn't show up, so there's nothing to delete. Puzzled and frustrated.  - SAME DOWNLOAD DIFFERENT DAY THIS A REPOST FROM A PREVIOUS DAY. I have one bank account set up for online download of transactions. Once a month, we they tack the interest charge on to the account I download it. This same transaction continues to show up as a new transaction for the nextfew days. Within a few days I will receive the monthly statement. I then balance the account and reconcile all transactions on the statememt, including the monthly interest. For a few days after I have reconciled the account I continue to download the same interest transaction that has now been coded as reconciled. I do not change the Payee from what is download.  - Money 2003 Reports problem I'm preparing to pay Sales Tax collected from my customers for the third quarter. I invoiced a customer in Aug. but I received payment from them in Oct. The Sales Tax Collected report for the third quarter correctly does not show that sale in Aug. But the Sales Report does.  - I need advice on budgeting for irregular income and vacations im planning a trip to europe for summer 2004, i hope to go for 3 weeks. in planningg my budget i would like to see my actual account balances for the weeks in question but i cant actually do that because money assumes i will be getting paid during those weeks off (which i will not).  - Corrupt Backup The "Microsoft Certified Computer Tech" didn't tell me he was going to reformat my hard drive in order to change my operating system from Windows 98SE to XP. So I lost all my data except that which I had on my D drive or floppy. Unfortunately, I didn't back up my current Money 2003 to the D drive but had it on floppies. After installing Money 2003 on my C Drive, I have not been able to restore my floppy backup which is on 4 disks. I just get this message: 'A:\My Moneybackup Backupdl.mbf' is corrupted or is not a Money backup file. I have looked at all the FAQs and searched the internet for an answer on how to repair this. Apparently Money cannot repair a mbf file. Trying to copy this file to the C drive I get this message: Data error (cyclic redundancy check) Is all lost?  - trial 2004 Hello, I downloaded and installed the Money 2004 trial. I installed the trial side-by-side with Money 2003 in a totally different directory. I tried it out, and uninstalled it. I copied my saved 2003 version of my .mny file and opened it in 2003. (I still have a good backup of my pre-trial installation .mny file) Anyway, I opened it and nearly all my account balances are around 700,000,000 dollars. But they're not the same, they vary by a few hundred dollars. When I go to the account registers themselves, the account total is correct. When I go to my budget, my current balance shows up as ***err***! I then chose the "reinstall" option on Money 2003. Still same problem. I then uninstalled Money 2003 and deleted the 2003 program directory (some files were leftover). I couldn't check any of the files in the windows directory because I don't know what to check, or registery values for that matter. Even after reinstalling Money 2003 I get the same problem.  - Running multiple versions on same drive? Basically wanting to know if I can retain my current version of Money and concurrently run another version (Money 2004 for Small Biz) on the same computer. I would just like to keep my business and personal finances separate and this seems like an easy way. Does anyone know if I can run two different versions on the same drive? "I get junk e-mail all the time- and really did not think it was going to work." the boy continues. Within the first few days of sending out the e-mail- the post office box that his parents had gotten him for his video-game magazine subscriptions began to fill up with not magazines, but envelopes containing $5 bills. In other words, can I set up a money file so that two users can access it across a home network without worrying about whether or not the other user is already in the file, thus causing corruption? I did a quick test which would suggest yes, but I want to triple check. Here's what I did: 1. Copied my money file to a safe location 2. Opened it on one computer (A) 3. Walked to another computer (B), opened it there as well 4. Opened A to Home page. 5. Opened B to Home page, then went to downloaded statements and accepted some transaction. 6. Opened A to downloaded statements, observed that B's changes were there. 7. Accepted another transaction on A. 8. Went to B, verified that it showed the modification on A. 9. Closed B. 10. Went to A, verified changes were still there. 11. Closed A. 12. Opened it from A. No error messages anywhere. Still, being nervous I deleted it and restored the copy I had made.  - Saving OFX files from California Bank Of America...convert ofx? All, I've seen similar posts, but not exactly the same. I saved an OFX from California BofA, and I can no longer retrieve the data in a different format (it's older than their three month deadline). When I try to import it, I get the familiar 'There is a problem with the data received from this online provider. If the problem persists, call the provider's customer service number for help.' Can I convert the OFX to OFC or QIF (which had worked for me previously). It seems like there are conversion utilities for almost every other format to OFX, but not from it.  - Recording Mutual Fund Purchase Transactions I'm not sure of the proper way to record simple mutual fund purchase transactions that are automatically paid from my primary checking. I find that I have some transactions that are debit withdrawals from primary checking paid to the fund. These are usually downloaded transactions from by bank. Others are recorded as transfers from primary checking to XXX Fund. These all appear under XXX Fund(Cash). I also have one transaction recorded as an investment transaction that looks like it was entered long ago with no from account. I would think that all these transactions should be recorded as investment transactions. If so, how should they be set up so they record as investment rather than as cash transactions? I'd have started over, except that I have hundreds of transactions recorded (most correctly, I think), and I'd like not to go that route.  - Download from BB&T has duplicate check numbers Hi, I am using Money 2001 Deluxe & Business. I recently opened a checking account at BB&T (Branch Banking & Trust Company). When I download account information (via their web site), the debit card transactions have a zero in the field, according to the bank online help people. Microsoft Money replaces the zero with the most recent check number found in the download. For example, if I download check number 127, followed by two debit card transactions, it looks like: 127 Check $45.27 127 Martins $53.12 127 Citgo $19.50 Has anyone else seen this before?  - Download QIF file to update mortgage account I'm using Money 2004. I can setup a mortgage account, but I can't setup the online services for it. For my other bank acnts, I go the bank website, download history for the account and specify which acnt to update. When I try to download the mortgage transactions, Money asks which acnt to update and lets me select from a drop down list. My mortgage acnt is not on that list. I cannot type an entry into the field, only choose from the list. I also tried doing the download and creating a new acnt from it. Problem is, it won't let me create a loan account from the download.  - Money 2002 Statement Date and balance not updating I'm not sure how to post this question. In my checking account register, to the upper left if the actual register just below the date, there is a section of the screen with downloaded statement information. It lists the date of the last download, the balance reported by my bank at the time of the downloaded statement and the number of items from the statement I need to review. The problem is that this isn't updating as I download statements. Although I download a statement every other day, it still says my last statement was downloaded on 10/12/03 and my balance was $x.xx. Not critical, but annoying when I can't figure out why its not working. Seems to have coincided with the install of MS Office products. Any suggestions?  - spending thermometer Hi, I can't seem to get my monthly spending thermometer to work. For example, I've logged into my register this month about $100 in the catagory gasoline but the "thermometer" on the bottom of the register says you've spent $0 on gasoline this month. I've exhausted all the help options and set the proper FYI options but I still can't get it to read right.  - Download from Bank Debit Card I am a new user of 2003 deluxe and have been trying to donwload my statements. This works, but all the Vendor information comes to me in the "Memo" line and the workds"Debit Card Pruchase" comes in the "payee" line. The problem is compounded when I try to go through the register and reverse the lines manually as Money automatically changes all of the other "Debit Card Purchase" to whatever I copy to the payee line....I have about 700 entries to reconcile so I hope that Microsoft has a way to deal with these problems.  - copying projects list in classification 1 to projects list in business module I have used MS Money Small Business since it came out but I'm "locked-out" of the invoicing features because my projects list is in Classification 1 (as suggested by Microsoft when Money first came out) rather than the dedicated projects list in the business module. Can these two databases be linked? Can the project number- names in Classification 1 be copied and pasted to the projects list in the business module? The latter was suggested by MS support in India but the edit functions cut/copy/paste are grayed-out in Classification 1 so this doesn't seem to be a viable option. If I want to use the invoicing features of Small Business Edition, am I stuck with manually recreating my project list in the business module?  - MS 2004 deluxe + WIndows XP pro = disaster! I purchased MS 2004 deluxe and installed it under my Windows XP pro. Each time I tried to launch Money it says Money encounters some error and has to be shutdown. Judging from the error message it appears to be a memory access problem. I tried to get some online support but no luck. The program doesn't even let me get to the "help" page to read id number, which is required for the online support. Called free phone support but after long wait they transfered me to game tips ( I have to pay long distance charge). This is really a joke and I am very angry at myself to pay for a useless CD.  - Memorize Catagories? Can Money memorize categories? I recently switched from Quicken, so I'm not that familiar with Money (Canada 2004). When I reconcile, I like to keep track of what I've paid for gas, groceries, etc. I'm trying to update from the last year, but I have to manually insert "groceries" with every interac payment to "Steves YIG".  - Cannot Save to Money Database File Hello everyone, everytime I try to make a change to my money database file, it tells me that it's in use by another application. I have a feeling that it may be corrupt, however the my backup is about 6 months old. As a result, I don't want to loose what's in it. Two questions: Can I fix the current problem?  - Money 2003 Reports issue I'm preparing to pay Sales Tax collected from my customers for the third quarter. I invoiced a customer in Aug. but I received payment from them in Oct. The Sales Tax Collected report for the third quarter correctly does not show that sale in Aug. But the Sales Report does.  - EPay Date and Status Hi, In Money 2001 when a transaction was paid with epay it used the date of the transaction, but in 2002 and 2003 if I have a transaction for the 20th and set it to EPay on the 5th (not changing the dates but actually on the 5th set the epay for the 20th) Money will move the transaction to 15th or so.
