    - Importing unit trust prices into Money I have just updated my portfolio and there are several old investments that I have now added. I would now like to update the historical prices of unit trusts whose prices i cannot download online since they are not listed. Is there any way of doing this besides manually entering the value of each for each and every month (yes, i would like to track it on a monthly basis to track trends). I was thinking if there is a way of perhaps creating a .qif or text file with the dates and monthly prices, and have it imported into money.     - Budget Problem in 2005 I downloaded the trial version of 2005 since I liked the feature where budgets could be tracked to one account, in this case, my checking account. Nice fix! Only problem is some budgeted amounts, specifically my paycheck, are doubled, and others are "0". Tried for 2 hours yesterday and can't seem to get the budgeted amounts correct.     - Entering a one time transaction (not a revolving one) i need to enter receipts such as tolls, gas, etc. all i have is reacurring and i do not want that. i have even setup a cash account so that i can charge to that account instead of my bank, but that really does not help me when i am unable to enter transactions that i have to pay out all the time. this is driving me crazy. i have a stack of receipts i need to get entered, and cannot do it.     - Returning MS Money 2005-- any hiccups? Hi, I just determined last night that I will return MS Money 2005 since it simply has too many "features" which seem more like problems to me. Anyone familiar with the return process with Microsoft? It doesn't *appear* that you have to go through a Return Authorization (RA) process according to their web page: http://www.microsoft.com/INFO/NAReturns.HTM **ALSO** I couldn't find a "money back guarantee" (no pun intended) on the MS Money 2005 box or in the "fine print" either!!!!!!     - Payee Name from Online Banking Hi, I've just started using Money 2005 to download statements from my Bank of America accounts. When I first set this up the transactions were downloaded with no details in the Payee Name field, apart from ATM transactions. Having changed the settings I've managed to get some information downladed to the Payee field, but all I get is "PURCHASE 123456789...", and not the followng line from my transaction which includes the actual name of the payee. I'm really hoping I'm doing something wrong here and I can download this crucial information, can anyone offer any help on how to get this set up correctly?     - Account Update downloads same transactions over and over When downloading account updates using "Automatic Updates" that use Yodlee all my transactions are re-downloaded each time. All the suggestions that MS Support have given me have not worked. I am hoping that someone else is having this problem or has fixed it and how. Here is what is going on: Yesterday I updated my accounts and 20 transactions were downloaded. Money matched them and I accepted them. Today I updated my accounts and 26 transactions were downloaded... Money matched them... however, only 6 of them were new ones... the other 20 are the ones that were downloaded yesterday and were already matched and accepted. Now, Money has matched these 20 transactions to the original already matched 20 transactions and is asking me to re-accept them. This is happening with all accounts. So far: I have created a new Passport... this didn't fix it I have ran file repair... this didn't fix it I have created a brand new Money file using a brand new Passport, and this didn't fix it.     - Passwords I'm temporarily using money on a computer without internet access, but I do always back up the file onto a disc. I carry that disc with me when I go over to my parent's place so that I can "restore" my backup file onto their computer, update the internet files and investment prices, and than I save the file back onto my floppy disc. When I get home, I restore that updated file onto my own computer without the internet - BUT MY PROBLEM IS: that money asks me for a password specific to my "money file," and I have no idea what that is... It is distinctly different from my MSN Passport Password, and I am getting rather frustrated by this. Can someone please help???     - What happens when you upgrade from Small Business to Deluxe? I picked up a copy of M04 Small Business over the weekend (it was too cheap to pass up, $35). So I'm going to do a M03 (Deluxe) -> M04 (SB) upgrade. I'm curious what features/functionality I'll lose, (and if this is in fact doable seamlessly) in the future if I go from M04 Small Business to a non-Small Business version, such as M04 SB->M06/07 Deluxe/Premium? I'm not planning to use any of the small business features in the M04 I bought, other than to perhaps play around with them. The reason I bought the SB version is the two years of MSN Bill Pay included, which is worth a bit more more than what I paid for the software. Has anyone tried this in the past?     - Uprading from Money 2003 to Money 2005 deluxe After I installed 2005 over 2003, I couldn't open my Money file since it was made in another english based language.     - Finding un-categorized entries After downloading bank accounts, sometimes I'll fail to categorize some entries. If the total of those entries is large enough, it will show up on the pie chart and clicking that segment will give a window of those entries for easy editing. But if the total isn't large enough, I don't know how to find them as a group. "Categories" doesn't have a classification for "None assigned". Is it possible to find them in that event?     - Credit Card Balances in '05. Have this issue with money: my credit card balances show up as "credits" in money 2005, not as debits, which they are suppose to be.     - Fidelity Netbenefits / Money 2004 Has anyone had success with downloading transactions from a Fidelity 401(k) using Netbenefits in Money 2004? I am currently using Money 2005 primarily because it works with Netbenefits correctly. I've tried several times going back to 2004 (which is a better program) but cannot unfortunately get Netbenefits to work correctly. What it does in 2004 is provide an update to the positions held but does not download individual transactions. I would switch back to 2004 if I could solve this one problem.     - MONEY 2005 WITHOUT INTERNET LINK I decided this morning to test my Money Deluxe 2005 program by disconnecting my DSL cable internet connection BEFORE turning on my computer. I wanted to see what inpact that had when I opened Money. Fortunately, Money performed as I had hoped and expected. All my current information was there and shown. When I went to investments it showed the last update was last night when I was last on the computer with my internet connection. Obviously, when I tried a link that I knew would require the internet it showed the cannot connect screen. All this was to assure me that I DO have my Money program working on MY computer and it does NOT need a link to the MSN servers in order to work. FYI.     - Quotes won't update Ever since I installed Money Deluxe 2004 on a new PC I bought in April individual stock quotes stopped updating. All my quote updates were working in Money 2003 Deluxe prior to the 2004 update and the new computer and they are still working on my old computer. ALL OTHER INFORMATION ( PROVIDERS, MONEY UPDATES, ETC.) ARE WORKING AND NEVER CEASED WORKING. Individual quotes and the portfolio totals are not being updated, even though the date stamp in the lower left hand corner shows the correct date and time of the update and the message says the updates were successful. Microsoft phone support could not figure out the problem, which I'm still having, and they had me try the following: 1. Delete all quote symbols and reinstall the symbols after verifying each symbol was correct. 2.Delete 2004 deluxe and reinstall. 3. Delete my security software, delete 2004 deluxe and then reinstall 2004 deluxe and then reinstall the security software. 4. Repaired file several times. 5. Makse sure my total quotes was less than 150. I have a 123 quotes to be downloaded. 6. Set up a new Money file with the same quotes and they would update temporarily as I added them one at a time , then started to stop updating once I got passed 80 quotes. 7. Occassionally the quotes will update, after clicking on "updates quotes" 30-100 times, however most of the times they still won't update for days and weeks no matter how many times I click on update quotes. I spent hours on the phone with a Sr. Money tech support person (Cathy Bennet) and finally after a month she said she couldn't fix the problem and felt it was my new PC and/or a problem with my cable modem or wirelsess router. I checked both with the respective companies and they advised the problem was not on their end. I've been a Money user for 10 years and this is the first major problem I've had that couldn't be fixed.     - Managing categories in Money2005 I am trying to change and rename the categories in M2005. My business expenses including car, cell phone, etc. are paid from the company account, and personal expensese are paid from my personal account (both at different banks).     - Can Money 2005 UK and US Play Nicely Together Hi, I've recently moved from the UK to the US and now have accounts in both countries I want to manage with Money. I have purchased the 2005 versions for both countries, and have been trying to install both of them on the same PC, with no success. If I try and install the US version first followed by the UK version, the UK version complains that it's an older version than the current one, and won't install. If I try the opposite the US version installs itself on top of the UK version without any notification, even if I've chosen a non-default folder name for the UK version. So it appears to me that these two products cannot be installed on the same PC... unless anyone knows of a way to do so successfully? Assuming I'm right and it can't be done, can someone direct me to the complaints department for either Money UK or US (for what it's worh)? I'd find it incredible that no one at Microsoft in either countries has picked up on this... surely I can't be the only person using their products with both UK and US bank accounts?? Final question, if I'm stuck with using one version of the product, is there a way to import accounts and transactions from either version into the other? If so which version would be preferable to use? And would I also be able to use the online banking from both countries in the one version? OK that's 3 final questions. Sorry. Is there a way of importing share or unit trust prices into Money? I would
like to update the historical value of some investments which are not
available online. My only alternative at this stage is to manually enter it
for each investment.
I was thinking if I can create a file with the month end dates and prices,
and download it into money.
