using Money to manage rental propery
I am currently using Money (Standard) to track income and

M04 is not with it
Ok, I just purchased Money 04. After you install it you would think you
were looking at Money 03!! There is nothing new, nothing worthwhile at all.
Ok, some very , very small changes. But nothing worth the $60 cost!
This is more of a Money 2003.1 version than anything.
IF you want to upgrade get it from Sam's or Cosco for $16 after rebate. It
MAY be worth that.
MS is doing a refresh to office, they could have done the same to Money!
Does anyone know if they are just waiting until next year to come out with
something new??

Still a budget bug in 2004
The budget bug remains:
If you schedule a transfer from a budget to non-budget account
(Example $100).
Then you look at the budget - you will see this amount budgeted. So
far, so good.
Then when you record the transaction - the budget amount and actual
amount are the same. Again, this is good.
But if you go into the account where the transfer was from or to - and
you delete the transaction. The amount remains budgeted for. You can
not delete the item from 'Bills and Deposits' because it no longer
exists. So you are stuck with a budgeted amount.
I just tested to see if that this bug still exists in 2004 - and it
does.
You can avoid it by making sure you DO NOT delete from the account
registers (at least not Scheduled Bills - transfers - deposits). You
have to delete them from the 'Bills and Deposits' area.
New versions, new online-services to generate more revenue - but not
enough time, expertise, or interest in fixing existing bugs.

Problem with "Monthly Budget" Report
Hello everybody!
I have been using Money 2003 for about 5 months and I like
it very much, but I have one problem. I have the Standard
Version.
Something wierd is happening when I generate the "Monthly
Budget" Report. I hope someone can help me, for this
report is really useful.
I have one Bill for Bills:Rent, but when I get the monthly
budget report (and also on Annual Budget repot) the
Budgeted column shows the value as the double of the
original value, but the Actual column shows the correct
value entered on the register.
The Income Section shows correct values but the problem is
only on the Expense section.
I have deleted any Budget created and started from scratch
a new budget selecting "No, start my budget with recurring
transactions and default categories only". Income is
correct according to Deposits. I don't use "Yes, pre-fill
my budget ..." because it creates greater errors on
Expense section and also on Income section of the Monthly
budget repot.
Then I click Next. The values on "Enter your Expenses" are
correct according to Bills I set up.
Then I click Next. All values look correct and the Total
monthly expenses value.
Then click Next. No saving goals registered.
Then click Next. Budget Summary. Totals look fine.
Then click Next. Looking at screen "Review your current
budget status". Budget Period is "Current Month" but
values are higer on the upper screen "Expenses:current
month" for budgeted.
I even try saving the budget for the period 1-30 july
2003, but get the same results.
I've tried over and over removing the bill and the adding
it later, or changing the system time, but can't figure it
out.
Can anyone help me?
Thanks in advance! Tag: Importing from Quicken Tag: 142713

help someone...please
Hi! I need some help. I am trying to print out the
transactions from my account and I keep getting a column
with a running balance? What I see on the screen is the
current balance but I cannot get that to print. Also how
do you figure out what pages to type in when you are
selecting a range? I have spent so much time "playing
around" but cannot figure it out! Really wish Microsoft
would stand behind their products and allow people to
call and get help without charging them an arm or a leg!

Money 2004 CD or DVD?
Hello,
I just saw this on amazon.com:

Now, notice that it calls the software a DVD-box yet says the media type is
CD-Rom. I'm confused, does this come with DVDs or CDs?

okay ... I have only so much of this raw material that I
need to divide up for 5 different products. I have to
decide how much of the raw material to give to each
product based on 3 different criteria. The first criteria
is "importance." If I rank all five products by
importance then I will have a scale 1-5 (one being the
most important). The second criteria is "safety." I
could once again use a 1-5 scale and rank each product by
how safe they are (one being the safest). The third
criteria is "erection size" (just to be interesting).
Erection size is a number with a decimal value (such as
1.8, 0.2, 4.66, etc). Now the question: Using this
information how can I (formula or whatever) using these
three criteria determine how much of the raw material
would go to each of the 5 products? Thanks! Tag: Importing from Quicken Tag: 142685
Creepy...
About 9 months ago, I used MSN money to put some of my accounts online so I
could check them when I wasn't the home computer. I stopped using it after
about a month. Anyway, I just went back to check on it because I thought I
might be able to find a way to get the BillPay offer w/o (apparently) having
to be an MSN 8 subscriber. ANYWAY, when I pulled it up, my accounts were
current as of 20 days ago. I have not even visited this page in 8 months
but things were still current. I've even changed computers since then (i.e.
complete reinstall). Can anyone tell me how this happened? Was MSn Money
just checking with my banks every month in a kind of maintenance mode (which
is OK) or is information actually being transmitted from my computer through
my Passport account (NOT OK)? Tag: Importing from Quicken Tag: 142681

Transaction Reports
Hi
How do I show interest adjustments for mortgage balancing
in transactions reports. It shows all the 'normal'
fortnightly payments of interest but when you make an
adjustment to balance your mortgage account it does not
show this under reports transaction. The mortgage account
does not appear in the customise; accounts. So what
happens is the amortisation schedule differs from the
reports. False statement!
Any help would be really appreciated.

Money 2002-cash flow doesn't adjust after transaction
Hi.
Because I currently live off of my savings, I have set up
a budget in Money 2002 that regularly allows for
transfers from a savings account into my checking account-
-to reflect as though it's my income. I created an
income category called"transfers from budget
accounts." (I can see how this could be a problem if
money does not recognize this as an "income.") Before I
did this, however, I couldn't figure out how to make the
budget planner make it's calculations without showing me
in the red. So I opted to work around the problem like
that.
Perhaps this resulted in a new problem: the cash flow
feature does not adjust when I actually do make that
transfer of money from savings to checking. Rather, it
adds that amount of money to the already budgeted amount.
I'm having a hard time working around this.
If you have an answer to this, you are brilliant...or
maybe I'm just not.
Thanks!

e-bill in MSN Bill Pay, and I pay the e-Bill in MSN Bill Pay (i.e., I don't
do click 'Enter into Regiater...' in Money, but rather I click Pay in MSN
Bill Payment Center).
The payment entry from MSN Bill Pay appears in M03 in the correct bank
checking account within a few minutes of clicking 'Pay' in Bill Pay, but I
have to manually 'skip this occurance' in the Scheduled Bills & Deposits
screens to fool M03 into thinking I make the payment.

Debt Planner in Cash Flow
I apologize if I've asked this before, but no one

My debt planner appears appropriately as "debt" in the

projected in the future.
Any reason why these credit card bills are not included
in the Cash Flow? I realize that the money was "spent"

bills certainly effects my cash flow.

I know that I am using the correct password because I am

checked to see if the Passport server might be down, but
the MS website does not list it as being down when I
attempt to sign in. In addition, even if the Passport
server were down (but not listed), this wouldn't explain
why I am not able to successfully sign in to Money when I
already just signed in successfully to Messenger using the
same id and password.
Still more perplexing is that I have been using Money's
