    - free integrated bill payment Hi. I currently use 5/3 Bank which allows me to pay my bills from inside MS Money (through 5/3 directly, not through MSN bill pay).     - Transaction downloads not working On Money 2006, I had regularly been able to download monthly statements and have it reconcile the banks' transactions with how I had recorded them. Now all of a sudden, on a credit card account and bank accounts, it goes through the motions and says there's a number of items to review, but the downloaded transactions do not appear. That is "Items to review (7)" appears on the left, but in the transaction list there are only the items I entered and nonthing to reconcile.     - Feature Requests: Savings Goal & Bill Recurrence Fix Just a couple of suggestions for the Money developers... 1) Creating a true savings goal feature. This would allow a user to earmark money within an account for a particular expense and continue to add/subtract to/from it. When viewing the account, you could then see what your current balance was with the savings goal money removed from the account or with the money in the account. The savings goal account would look like a separate account (although it really isn't) so you could view it in itself. This would also allow you to add to a savings goal from different accounts. In setting up the savings goal, you would be able to specify what your target amount is and when you want to reach that goal by. Money would then help you telling you if you are on pace to reaching your goal as time goes on by monitoring your "deposits" into the savings goal. 2) Change the recurrence engine for bills to something more in depth. You should be able to select any type of recurrence for bills that you want and not just some preset items. I have bills that recur every 3 weeks--there is no way to truely do that kind of recurrence with the current engine. Just a thought.     - Money 2004 Small Biz Customer Transactions do not appear as income Hi folks. I hope someone can help figure this one out. I created a new customer. Did invoices, recived payments. If I look untder customer transactions they are all there. I created a subcategory uinder income just like all of my other customers. But this one shows no income received even though it does under customer transactions. Other customers do show income.     - Identifying and contacting Money intermediary Using Money '07 on XP Pro to download data from my bank. The bank does not provide a direct connection, yet is listed in Money's list of supported banks, via a third party. For over a week now, Money has been unable to retrieve my transaction data giving a very uninformative error that the attempt was unsuccessful. I've contacted my bank. Since they don't provide this service themselves, they decline to help me.     - Editing budget shows Recurring bill as zero Hi Within the Budget, I have a recurring bill under 'Bill Summary' showing up as ZERO and there is not 'Money icon' showing it is a Withdrawl or bill when I am trying to edit the Expenses. All my other recurring bills are showing the 'Money icon' indicating Withdrawl or bil. I can edit it but then when viewing the 'Budgeted' amount, this is then doubled.     - Money 2001 pay bills - Money 2006 pay bills difference I just upgrade to Money 2006 Standard from Money 2001 Standard. In Money 2001, I could open pay bills, hold the Ctrl and it would highlight multiple bills/deposits and I could see what my check balance would be After. I used this to be sure I would always have enough money in my checking to pay my bills. I don't believe Money 2006 Standard has this feature.     - Money 99 with Vista, or do I upgrade? I am using Money 99 on a Windows 98SE PC for a clubs accounts, very simple nothing complicated. I have just bought a new PC with Vista.     - Autofill M2004 / M2006 An easy way to do this ? 1. I WOULD like to edit aliases easily - how to do this: I'd like all gas purchases (EXXON/ HESS/Gulf/Valero etc ) to match to " Exxon" . On the Payee Rules Mgr screen I'd have to - select EXXON - then manually type all variations. They're all in there - on the preferred names screen - let me just pick 'em. Is that on another screen somewhere ? Or do I have to go to each current name and add EXXON as a variation - deleting all others ? ( want to do similar for other groups too so that's why asking if simple way to do it) The payee rules screen is not user friendly - have to choose each one on left , then next one, then next one. Can I see the aliases all at once ? " So that I could see all of the accounts that HAVE EXXON as a variation? And the " setup Preferred payee names screen" won't get these names that I catch/change - since they aren't IN my register any longer. 2. Is this a setting WE can choose in setup somewhere ? ( "Purchase" is excluded from Autofill) My bank charge card download shows first line entry as PURCHASE and the second line contains " # 5200 THE HOME DEPOT " etc. On charge purchases, I have to go in and fill in the company name.( or select from drop down) Any way to have Money look at the SECOND line for an alias/ variation to match them using autofill. It seems so simple for them to read THAT info, " purchase" and autofill. ( that's all I do) 3. How do you get around this ? Just keep up with aliases ? On the other hand everytime I download my checking info, it confuses my automatically paid bills ( that show as something like " Payment Transfer"). so it will want to match my ... electric bill to my phone bill. I'll change it to make it correct and then vice versa for bills next month. I think I got all the variations of "Payment Transfer" for now - but as the payees change the description, I get reappearing " incorrect matches" that if I didn't notice would get both accounts out of whack. How do you get around this ? Also for " Withdrawal from ATM ". If one month I use an ATM for my checking card and another month use ATM for different card - it autofills. So if not careful could take $100 out of checking account at bank A and it "matches" to your Mastercard instead. ( if that was last 'withdrawal'). I have deleted the alias or have it ignored - next time I download ( or from another bank) - their name for it is a bit different and another " withdrawal "name for it. So now a cash withdrawal from ATM wants to autofill using ' whatever the last bank was". It doesn't show the bank on my screen and I have to go to the online bank's download screen to see - did I withdraw cash advance from bank A ?     - Online Services Providors not complete When I go to add online services to an investment account at JP Morgan I do the following: 1. Manage Online Services 2. Check for new online services (beside the JP Morgan account listed under "These banks and brokerages do not provide automatic online updates") The same results happen when I try setting up a new investment account, however. 3. "J" is selected and only "Janus" is an option. The help file from JP Morgan shows many entries for "J." My best guess is that something is interfering with MM2006 (V15.0.125.513) being able to get the list of vendors providing online services. My MM file is large and was an upgrade from MM2003. I am running Norton Anti-Virus (Norton Protection Center) I have cleared my cache, cookies, reset my advanced settings, etc. from IE7. I have regserv... msxml.dll and msxml3.dll. I don't have msxml4.dll I have looked for the online link file in ..\..\webcache or whatever (one extra in a cab file) Any further suggestions?     - Not all transactions Hi. Just bought MS Money 2007, mostly to download my 401k statements. But after getting it started, I can see that for all my other bank accounts all the transactions are being downloaded, but for my 401k account with JP Morgan, only one line shows up showing the total number of stocks/funds, instead of downloading the full list of transactions for the past 90 days. Have been desperately trying to find out where to change it but cannot find it. Let's say I want to specifically let the software know that I want to download ALL the transactions for the past X days, where do I change the settings? The user's guide from JP Morgan indicates that there should be a question when I am setting up the account but I never see that questions. Once I pick JP Morgan from the list (Investment account) and provide log in information, the account is set up and I don't know why it does not automatically download all the available transactions. What to do? The JP Morgan users gude clearly indicates something that I cannot find in the MS Money software. I have MS Money Deluxe 2007. Thanks for any help.     - Repost: Budget showing zero (0) This was posted a few days ago as a reply to another thread. I'm reposting as I think that thread is dead. Money 06, Advanced Budget. I have budgeted amounts, but in the report it shows my budget as a zero (0). I've seen similar posts in the archives, but no real solutions, i.e., http://tinyurl.com/2yk2c7 Here's a sample line item of the zero (0) budget problem I see for April, 06: Category Actual Budgeted Bill: Phone $135 $0 (my budget=$65) Bill: Cable $78 $78 (my budget=$78) And then looking into next month's budget (May 06), the same line item shows: Category Actual Budgeted Bill: Phone $0 $130 (my budget=$65) Bill: Cable $0 $156 (my budget=$78) The April actual of $135 is correct, the budget is obviously incorrect. And it appears that next month is doubling my budget. I'm wondering if the oddity is due to my only having been using Money for a couple of weeks? (though there is 2 years of history in the accounts) Also, from what I can deduct, the problem appears limited only to objects that I have set up as recurring bills/transfers.     - Flaws in Money 2007 As a recently upgraded M04 user, I'm finding more and more things missing in M07. Besides the inability to highlight several bills at once to show their impact on my account balance, I find the following features either missing or flawed: 1. In M04, if you wanted to add a bill to your schedule of bills to pay, you had the ability to designate a set number of payments to make or an end date, if you chose. This is sadly missing in M07. 2. When I download transactions from banks into my Money program, the program will automatically match a specific bill to the NEXT (unrecorded) scheduled payment, rather than the one I've already recorded in my register. This requires me to change the transaction and select the previously recorded transaction, thus adding what should be an unnecessary step in the acceptance process. 3. This has been brought up in a previous post, but if I have a prior transaction that has been split (say $30 for groceries and $20 cash back), the next time I enter a transaction to the same Payee, the program will automatically consider it a split transaction, despite the fact that the payment amount may be different or it may not actually be a split transaction at all. There are other things I've noticed in the last few months since upgrading, but I can't think of them right now.     - Ordering Money Deluxe from Canada hi, I heavily use the "forecast cashflow" functionality in the trail version I've downloaded. I recently purchased the Canadian version of Money and this feature is not included. So, I tried to purchase a full version of Deluxe, but "Canada" is not listed in the drop down for countries..     - 2007 Uninstall- 2005 won't start, &PPC? Go Quicken? >-( HELP! Moving money 2005 file to new Vista system- decided good time to try Money 2007, right? So I backup 2005 .mny file on separate system, online and on flash. download 2007 and heed the warning that the file created cannot be opened in an older version (not much of a "trial" eh?). Honestly, can't tell that I'm even using a different program. Not inclined to pay $30 for something I can't even discern as new except for the "2007" in the title bar, I uninstall, and reinstall my 2005 onto the system. Get the old unaltered back up file and restore it. Doesn't work (surprise, surprise.) $35 to talk to a live person (yeah right) Read some post here. Realize that my 2005 installation is "fresh" and hence not updated. Create a dummy file, update and then it recognizes and opens my old 2005 back up. I'm happy. Close program. Next day. Start program. Won't work. Repeat previous day's dummy protocol. Works. close program. Restart program. won't work. "Error reporting has stopped working windows will now close the program and advise if a solution is available". Pull hair, wash, rinse, and repeat. WTF? And considering how I'm screwed out of my FAVORITE PPC function- mobile money- should I migrate to Quicken and Pocket Quicken? Is there a fix for my 2005 woes?     - Money 2007 Help I'm a new user to Money so I'm not very knowledgeable about all it's features as yet. I've setup an investment brokerage account in Money and have been downloading my investments now for several weeks. Everything seems to agree except for a few items. In my cash balance, Money seems to have missed one or two interest payment on some Mutual funds. In addition, I recently purchased a broker CD. That money has not been deducted from my Money cash account even though it appears in my broker account. So far, I've been making manual adjustment to correct the account.     - quicken.qif file, Money 2004, Vista Regularly, I download a quicken.qif file from my bill paying service. When I double click on that file, it asks me if I want to start up Money 2004. Often, but not always, when I start up Money via this route, my check register file comes up with many transactions missing, both deposits and withdrawals. If I tell Money to Restore Backup, the check register is now loaded with all of the transactions present. Where is the file without all of the transactions coming from? This has happened many times since I installed Money 2004 on my new PC with Vista Home Premium on it. I have plenty of RAM (2GB) and platy of CPU power for this little program.     - Money won't start Hi, When I try to sign in to Money, I get an error saying "The sign-in attempt for (my passport address) was unsuccessful. Please try your sign-in name and password again." The details are correct and my passport is working OK elsewhere and I've tried both backup files too, same error. My Money version is 12.0.0.613 and I'm using XP Pro SP2, fully patched. I recall this happening a while back and it was something to do with MS servers, but I can't recall what it was. Anyone got any ideas what's wrong? Many thanks for any help offered.     - Log In to Money On-line A brand new occurence. Try to log into money this morning. Keep getting message "You must be connected to the internet to sign in online". I am online!!! I use Money 2007. I have used Money for over 10 years now. This has NEVER occurred before. What I have tried: Shut downs (numerous), restart Money (numerous), reboots (numerous), new live password (3 times changed). What happens: It still updates portfolio levels, but not online banking. I am able to connect to bank online directly when not in Money (or even going to my bank site from within Money), but cannot get into Money online unless I go in off-line.     - Money 2006 - Archive? I have not archived my Money file for a couple of years - last archive was "2004 Archive.mny". I tried creating an archive using Money 2006 today and I got a file called "2006 Archive.mny" -so far so good. I told Money to back up all transactions prior to 1/1/2007. I checked all the accounts it showed me. Unfortunately the sized of my active Money file did not change and it would appear that no entries were deleted. The file is the same size as before the archive process. I opened the Archive file and it looks like there are "random" entries - some accounts have transactions from prior to 2007 and some accounts have only transactions from April 2007!! Where did I go wrong? I know previous versions of Money let me archive and it did what I thought it should do - at least get rid of the old entries that did not effect an asset account.     - Pension Policies - Recording Revaluations Does anybody know a tidy way to record revaluations of pension policies in MS Money? For instance, a policy can increase in value from Â£10,000 to Â£12,000 due to investment gains of the funds in that policy. How would you go about recording this?     - Help! Balancing Accounts Error Ok, so I've used Monday for years, going back to 1999. In every case, no issues balancing MS Money vs my paper statements. (I automatically download the transactions, then manually balance once a month to confirm.) Now, out of nowhere, my starting balance is off by $14.22. I know it was correct last month. So, I clear last month figuring that will get rid of the issue, but that $14.22 is still off. I went back about 6 months, nothing doing. I checked the balance manually and it all adds up! So, I can't put in an adjustment because I know it's correct. I did look to see if there were any transactions that were no longer marked as "Reconciled", but they all are. Any ideas?     - Balancing account-making it easier When balancing accounts, Microsoft removed the "number of item cleared" and "Amount of items cleared" a couple of versions ago. This makes reconciling with a bank statement immensely easier. There is plenty of room on the screen for this. PLEASE PUT IT BACK!!!     - How to add RRSP in Money 2006? Hi, how can I add an RRSP in Money 2006? When I add an account, I select "Investment" > "Retirement".     - Deleting "overdue" recurring bills on "my money" home page Hopefully somebody can help me with this problem. I use Microsoft Money 2006 - Esential Bills. The problem is that I keep getting reminders on my money home page indicating that I still have some overdue bills dating back to 2006! These bills have already been paid I am unable to delete these reminders. I have gone to the "bill calendar" to skip or edit the transaction but I get a message saying "you have selected a transaction with an earlier payment date - select only the earliest occurrence and they you can record or skip the transaction."     - Reconciliation Suggestion I have had a terrible time with my starting balance changing when I go to Balance a new statement. I know this is caused by previously reconciled transactions being deleted, or new transactions being flagged as recondiled... PLEASE put a setting to NOT ALLOW CHANGING AMOUNT on reconciled transactions. I know a warning is given, but put a flag. (I may have inadvertently clicked OK when warned, but I don't think I did.     - Selling an Asset I'm selling my home, and wanted to get some advice on how to show the transaction in M2006. I have the home setup as both an asset to track home improvements and as a loan to show the outstanding mortgage. I have already sold the home, and have proceeds from the sell that I need to account for. I could pretty easily just closeout the mortgage and asset accounts by just zeroing them out, but wanted to see if there was a preferred method of doing this. For example, I could should the total amount I received, minus closing costs, as a contribution to the mortgage account, with th excess positive balance being my proceeds. I would then just zero out the asset account. Anyway, just looking for ideas. By the way, I found nothing when searching the help file or knowledge base for "selling assets."     - Delete closed account I have at this point 8 different accounts with one financial institution. There are also 2 accounts that are closed (CD accounts) that I would like to delete from Money 2007 Deluxe, but in order to delete the closed accounts I have to disable online banking. Is there any way around this? I really don't want to have to disable online updates and then enable online updates as it is a supreme pain in the rear to get the accounts back in sync.     - Money 2004: worth upgrading yet? I've been happily using Money 2004 Standard for about three years now. Any compelling reasons to upgrade to a newer version? As far as I can tell, the only reason to upgrade would be to continue to receive online updates of market prices, but I don't even use that feature.     - Chase Charged me $9.95 for using MS Money sync Hi, after using Chase online synch process with my MS Money â??07 for nearly 4 months now, I was surprised to see the Chase had charged me a fee of $9.95 for April (it was free all this time!). Can any Chase bank customer out there tell me if there is a way to avoid this (besides having to log into their system manually and download the statements to Money?)?     - Money 2006: Going from XP to Vista I've got Microsoft Money 2006 Premium edition on my laptop. I also have Windows XP on it. I want to upgrade it to Windows Vista, by doing what is called a "wipe and load". That means I'll reformat the hard drive and install Vista onto it. Then I'll install my various applications (Office, etc). This includes reinstalling Money 2006. Of course, I've got to save my current Money file (.MNY).     - advanced budget How is the Regular Income calculated within advance budget and is it the average say over 12 months? For example, I have 12 entries in Regular Income.     - subcategory mix up I am slightly confused about my subcategories. I have "Bank Charges: [subcategory blank]" and dont know why it states blank, because when I goto the category, I have 2 other subcategories in the 'Subcategories' box. Similary I have "Bills [all other]" all under the Budget Category Utilities and all my sub category bill are under that category. Can I delete the above because I have individual Categories and subcategories for each bill under the Utilities budget heading, for example. Does this makes sense to you? In the past I always imported OFX files from my bank. They have had problems
with OFX and recommended downloading QIF (long format mm-dd-yyyy) files. this
works fine, however the same transactions that I have already reconciled with
Money keep getting imported. When I downloaded OFX only new transactions that
were not reconciled with Money showed up to be accepted. Now (using a QIF
file) all transactions are imported and I have to accept up to fifty
transactions that were previously already marked cleared or reconciled after
balancing the account.
Is there a fix for this problem?
