are not visible. The audio is there, so is the frame
around it. I have Windows 98 and am trying to avoid the
$35 per incident fee.
I've uninstaled usind the uninstall program at

Money 2000 invalid page fault
I am having a recurring issue in Money 2000 Deluxe. Every
time that I go to enter a loan payment for any loan, or
click on the 'Bills' link, the program shuts down and I
get an error message reading:
MSMONEY caused an invalid page fault in module MNYOB99.DLL

I can start the program back up and it accepted the loan
payment but is very annoying having to go through this all
the time. Anyone have any idea what my problem is?

How does one properly setup a loan account with this type of loan? Money
always wants a fixed payment for every month. Mine changes every 2 years

Moving Credit Card transaction splits to checking acct.
In Money Deluxe 2003, I'm trying to see if there is a way
of automatically moving my credit card transaction splits
into my checking account when I make my monthly payment.
Right now, I'm going into the credit card account and
designating which expense categories each transaction
should be applied to. Then when I make my payment, I have
reenter all those expense categories for the check so that
they get entered into my budget appropriately. Can I
somehow designate which transactions my payment covers and
have those expenses automatically moved into that check's
splits?

Money 2004 and Windows Messenger
After installing Microsoft Money 2004 Deluxe, now my Windows Messenger
does not automatically sign in when starting my computer.
I have Windows XP with the built in Windows Messenger. I do not use the
passport features of Money.
Before, every time I started my computer, Windows Messenger would
startup and also auto sign in. Now it will start but not sign in. I
cannot find any option to set it to automatically sign in anywhere.
Anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it?

Problem removing shares in Money 2001
When I try to remove all the shares of a mutual fund investment, I get
a message that says doing so will cause a negative balance at some
point, and advises me to arrange the transactions so this doesn't
happen. Obviously removing all shares would bring the balance to zero,
but I don't see why it would ever go negative. The same message
appears whether I try to confirm a downloaded transaction, or try to
do the transaction manually. Nothing I try to work around this seems
to work. Anyone have a solution, or a clue as to why it is happening?

Credit Transactions & Budgets
Looking for recommendations:
Trying to figure out how to best set up my budget to
reflect credit charges and the payments I then make the to
the credit card companies.
For instance, if I purchase $100 dollars in clothing on my
Visa on 8/1/2003, I allocate the charge in my Visa account
to the Clothing category. If I run the monthly budget
report for 8/2003, it'll show $100 for clothing as an
expense.
I then send a check to Visa for $100 which also shows as
an expense on the monthly budget report. It appears as
though I've spent $200 for 8/2003. Should I exclude
transfers on the budget reports?
Just not clear on how to handle credit card transactions
and how to accurately reflect the expense. Gets a bit
more confusing when they offer the 1 year no-interest
option.

I forgot my password to get into Money 2000. Any way to

Default .mny File Location
Money 2003 ".mny" and ".mbf" files are saved by default to my My Documents
folder. Because this is a very busy folder on my computer that regularly
gets synchronized with a backup CD it is risky to keep my key Money files in
this location. I feel sure that I could just move the files to a new
location and still run Money but I would probably have to point the system
to the new location each time I opened Money and I don't want to go through
that hassle.
I can find no options to change the default path to the core Money data
files in Help. This probably means that I will have to go into the registry
and change the path.
If anyone knows how to make this change I would love to hear from you.

Money 2004 slow
I just installed Money 2004 and it seems to work fine only
that it is extremely slow. Sometimes it takes a full
minute to view one line transaction time from another.
Other app programs on my system all work fine. This one
seems to be the only one to be so slow. I have a Celeron
466 with 192 mb RAM and 30 gb harddrive. Any help to

based on Classification 1 and would like to see a summary only with no
detail.. just the amounts for each Classification.
I do not see an option in the custom report generator to suppress the

System Failures after Money 2003
I have had a new PC for 18 months running on XP and Money
99 without any problems whatsoever. I recently upgraded to
Money 2003 and now the problems have started. Firstly I am
unable to download bank statements - although it suggests
they've been downloaded but, unlike before, I have no idea
where they go and secondly my PC has shutdown half a dozen
times with 'NT Authority System Remote Procedure Call(RPC)
Failure'. These shutdowns have even occurred when I've
tried sending an email with attachments! I have no viruses
and so can only conclude this is a result of the Money
upgrade.
Has anyone experienced this or have any idea how to fix

Passport Amnesia
Passport or my computer doesn't remember my user/pw combo, or I should say
when I check the "remeber my password" check box it won't let me sign in.
I'm not sure if it's an IE6 security setting or what. Haven't been able to
find anything in the MS knowledge base. In IE6 I do block all cookies but
have passport.net set to "allow all". Any ideas...?

Installer Problems
Hi! I had Money 2002 on my computer. I "downloaded" the
Money 2004 "trial". (I have decided to purchase it soon
anyway.) My question: Everytime I "click on" my Money
icon on desktop, the Windows Installer trys to install it
again and I can't just open money. Then a pop up comes up
& says "please insert Money 2004 CD". Is there anyway

Disappearing Payees in Money 2002 and 2003 *is fixed* in Money 2004
For those of you that are experiencing disappearing payee problems please
read the work that I have done on this issue in the following posts: Just

After I defined the conditions of the problem, I was able to easily
duplicate the disappearing payees problem in Microsoft Money 2003 Deluxe. I
do want to post that the issue *was corrected* in Money 2004 Deluxe. I am
unable to duplicate the missing/disappearing payee problem in Money 2004
Deluxe. The issue was resolved in Money 2004.
I have included the details of my findings from working on the issue with
Money 2003 below:
I have duplicated and solved the disappearing payee problem. I have worked
on the issue for the past day and a half. I tried many things to figure it
out, but I finally found the combination of events that is necessary to get
the program to make a payee mysteriously vanish from the explicit list. I
can now make any payee vanish from the explicit list at will by doing a
certain combination of things.
The conditions that are required to duplicate the vanishing payee problem
are as follows:
1.. You must have the option in money 2003 under the "Online Services" tab
that reads "Replace downloaded payee names with user-altered names when
available" selected.
2.. You download a transaction that your bank has given the EXACT same
name as a payee in your master list in MS Money (Explanation: say you have a
payee in your Money file called "Tom's Diner" ; a lot of times when you
download a statement from your bank it will have a weird looking name like
"TomDin#2347", but sometimes the name may EXACTLY match the name that is in
your Money file's explicit list. I.E. the downloaded transaction will also
have the name "Tom's Diner" and be spelled EXACTLY the same as the way you
have it spelled in your explicit payee list. This is when the problem
occurs)
3.. You accept that downloaded transaction when it is matched to a
previously manually entered transaction.
When these conditions are met, the payee will vanish off of the explicit
list and become implicit immediately after accepting the transaction. There
is then no way to make the payee become explicit again, except for a rename
and find/replace technique that is a pain.
This is definitely a bug, but for now I have found two work arounds.
Work around 1:
Deselect the option under the "Online Services" tab that reads "Replace
downloaded payee names with user-altered names when available"
The benefit that is lost by deselecting this option: When Money downloads a
transaction into an account register that does not have any matching
transaction to go with it, Money will not automatically alias a preferred
payee name from the preferred payee names database. You will either have to
change the payee name to the one that you want to use before you accept the
transaction, or you can just accept the transaction with whatever name is
downloaded from your financial institution.
***If you do your accounting the way that I do, having this option
deselected will not usually affect you. I always have transactions that I
have first manually entered into Money to match to the downloaded
transactions before I download a statement. When this is done, the name
that was assigned to the transaction when I entered it manually will stick.
The option to be deselected was designed more so for people that do not
enter their transactions manually before downloading a statement to
reconcile against them. Instead they like to save time by having Money
create and reconcile their transactions simultaneously when the accept
button is selected on their downloaded transactions.
Work around 2: (if you desire to keep the "Replace downloaded payee names
with user-altered names when available" option selected)
Rename the payees in your Money file to names that are very unlikely to ever
be exactly the same as the payees that your financial institution assigns.
This will not affect transaction matching very much. Money can still do a
good job at matching downloaded transactions even though the payee names may
not be spelled identically. Things like dates, amounts, check numbers, etc.
still let Money be quite accurate when matching downloaded transactions. In
addition, when you do match an unequal name for the first time, Money will
then add that name to the payee names variation list for that payee, so that
future matches for that payee will be even easier for Money to cipher. A
simple way to change the payee names in your money file to accomplish this
work around would be to append all of them with a special character like one
of these "~$%^*&*!+" So instead of calling a payee "Tom's Diner" call it
"Tom's Diner*". This work around will not work for online enabled payees,
because their names are locked after the first payment to them is made, but
when creating future online payee names you can give this some consideration
before deciding on a name for them.
If you follow these steps, you can stop payees from disappearing from the
explicit list.
Or as I stated above, you can upgrade to Money 2004. The issue was

Stock quote updates incorrect
I'm using MS Money 2002 on Windows 2000 SP4. I connect to
the Internet via a DSL connection. I'm able to complete
the "Internet updates". I get a message that says, "Call
Complete". However, when I compare the current stock
price (of lets say JNJ;Johnson and Johnson) with stock
quotes from Yahoo!, MSNMOneyCentral and Quicken (which are
all the same), I get a different value for the stock price

had to reinstall money 2001. I saved my money folder but
do not know how to reinstall my check register. I am
fearful that it may not live in the money folder. Does

"Rollover" budget buckets
I have been keeping a budget in Excel for years and
finally convinced myself to start using Money to manange
our expenses. However, I'm stumped with trying to set up
our budget in Money 2002 because I can't get the sw to do
some very simple budgeting techniques. Please help with
these issues I'm having - mostly with expenses that we
save for all year but do not occur every month (may be 1
time expense for the year, or something like car
maintenance that we draw from as needed but allocate some
amount in our budget to each month). My main questions
are:
(1) I have several budget "buckets" that we've been
allocating money into all year (such as Christmas gifts,
auto insurance, car maintenance). How do I set these up
in Money 2002?
(2) How do I establish a starting balance for each of
these bucket items (i.e., if we have a $1200 budget for
the year for Christmas gifts, and it's now August, I've
allocated $800 already to Christmas - how do I allocate
the $800 to this category in Money 02)?
(3)For normal budget items, like groceries, I want the
remaining amount not spent in a given month to
automatically roll-over to the next month (unless I
realocate it to another category). I don't think it is
doing this in Money 02. Shouldn't it work this way? Am
I missing something?
Please let me know what I'm doing wrong! I am so
frustrated. I can't imagine that my Excel spreadsheet
system I created and have been using for 8 years could

I have two accounts that represent my checking account.
The first one I have closed and the second one is the new
account that I want to download my bank's information
into. Unfortunately it does not download into the new
account.

Money 2003 - Stuck Epay - Will not submit or send.
I have Money 2003 basic. Epays have been working fine until last week.
Three submitted epays would not send when I submitted them. No reason code
or feedback was given. Currently I have three bills I need to process. I
search support.microsoft.com's knowledge base without luck for a solution.

Print reports in color
Any way to print reports in any color than black? I'm
having trouble with my printer printing black and want to
change it to any color just to get the report out.

Using Money 2003, how do you enter the transactions for the tax-free
conversion of an investment of Class A shares for greater number of Class B
shares in the same account? The Class B shares will have the same marlet

Money 2004 cash flow
my money 2004 will not let me goto the cash flow forcast,
it gives me an error telling me to create an account ...
i already have multiple accounts, and i have tried
creating another account, but it didnt help.
Since you cannot use money 2004 files with money 2003 and

UK -> CANADA / Money 2001 -> 2003
Hi,
I am running the UK version of Money 2001 small business
on my pc and would like to keep maintainnig my UK business
and private records in this.
I have recently moved to Canada and would like to start
using Money for my Canadian affairs, this ofcourse is not
possible in the UK version so I will need to aquire a
Canadian version of Money 2003 for this purpose.
Question :
Can the Money 2001 UK version co-exist with the Money 2003
Canadian version, without creating conflicts with files
etc. ??

On Line Stmt Balances Different than Account List Balances
I just migrated my money files from an old pc to my new
pc by backing up the files on a diskette and then opening
the backup diskette on my new pc. I then downloaded
about a one week of transactions from my bank and credit
cards; however the balances reflected on the "Read Online
Statments" screen are different than the "Account List"
balances, and the "Read online" balances appear to be the
correct balances and agree with the balances on the
institution websites.

Wachovia/New Account Issue
I have an account with Wachovia, which recently merged
with First Union. As a result, in order to continue
accessing my account via Online Services, I was required
to do the following: update my Money 2003 software;
disable and then re-enable Online services for my account;
update Online Banking; create new payment instructions;
etc. Unfortunately, the instructions provided by Wachovia
haven't been working for me, no matter what I've tried.
So I'm wondering if I can do the following: set up a new
Wachovia account (which will only download the last 90
days worth of transactions) and then somehow import the
transactions that I've already recorded over the past year.
Does anyone know if this is possible? Thanks in advance

Transfer/Imports Accounts and other settings?
I'm trying to set up Money 2003 using the accounts and related settings from
another Money file. I want the new file set up as of the beginning of this
year, so I don't want to import transactions (unless I can limit it to just
transactions after 12/31/02). Obviously, I would need to reset the 1/1/2003
balances on all asset and liability accounts. Can this be done?

Help, Quicken convert -trouble with Online Transactions or Setup
System = Money 2003, Window 98SE, Logging in with Passport.net
The Story:
When I installed, Setup, Migrated my Quicken file (which all went well) The
installation asked me to choose my financial institutions (which I did) it
saw all my bank accounts and enabled them for online access.
The Problem is:
Each accout has a different user name and password (and it has to be that
way because of the way my bank does it). So when I set it up, I used the
User/Password for the Account I use most frequently. Now when I "connect to
bank" using that accout the call summary says "successful" but I get no
transactions. My credit Cards seem to be updating properly...
In Quicken:
I used to connect to each account seperatley with their individual
User/Password combos and download transactions for each.
What do I need to do heree ? Thanks

"Line Choice" not available for chart in reports
On several of my report types, the selection for "line"
under the charting tab is grayed out (unavailable), while
the other types (bar, pie, report) are available.

vice versa.
