    - My Password blanks out A strange thing has just started to occur. My MS Money 2005 file is protected by a password. When i open the file i enter my email and then my password. If working offline the password is blanked out when i click sign in and the file does not open. If i work on line then MS Money tries to connect when i click sign in then blanks out the password, leaving the file unopened. Does anyone have any idea about this.     - Buy and Sell Symbols on Price History Charts Money 2007 (as well as on all previous versions I've used) have a helpful circular "B" and "S" symbols on the Price History graphs representing the buy and sell milestones.     - manual balancing Please help me avoid regretting my upgrade to 2007 Essentials from an older version of Money. My credit union isn't online but that's not the problem. In 2007, how can I manage checking accounts manually, more specifically, how to balance?     - Money 2007 - Grrrrr I have had nothing but trouble since upgrading to Money 2007. Every time I open it, my entire pc freezes. I close M'07, but in fact, it continues running in the background. I have to use task panel to shut down the program before I can shut down my pc. Restart will not work. Everything has to be totally shut down before I can open and use any other program. I have "repaired" it using Microsoft instructions; and even tried uninstalling '07, then reinstalled it. I cleared the cache, dumped the recycle bin, basically got rid of all the traces I could find of '07 before reinstalling it. No improvement. I have Win XP.     - Haven't Used Money in long time Greetings, After diligently recording all transactions in Money, I stopped. I want to be able to start from now and then fill in the missing information (about 7 months worth). What is the best way to start recording things as though starting fresh and then incorporating the data that I already had, while taking the next few weeks to fill in the gaps? Thank you for any and all suggestions. BTW, I am fairly new to Money 2006. I used 2002 for about 6 months before getting 2006 version. I got it so I could sync my data on my PocketPC.     - Money 2007 Issue Hi, I recently upgraded from Money 2004 to 2007. All seemed to go well, but now when I update with my bank an odd thing happens. I update and can see that I have downloaded transactions, but when I go to the register they aren't visible. I then close and restart Money. The transactions are now visible but I can't accept them because it says another online process is running. I then close and restart Money. I can now accept the transactions.     - Reason to upgrade to Money 2007? I have MS Money 2006, which works reasonably well. My question is (and has probably been asked before): Is it worthwhile for me to upgrade to Money 2007? I know if I get the TaxCut software I can get Deluxe for basically free (via a rebate). But things are working OK with 2006 and I don't want to take the chance of screwing things up unless there is a real compelling reason to upgrade (like faster, less memory, less bugs, smaller data files, etc).     - Lost entries after synchronizing in Microsoft Money 2005 I have been using Microsoft Money 2005 for almost 2 years. I synchronized my Microsoft Money a couple of nights ago so that I could view my accounts from any computer. When I logged into Money tonight, I find that all of my entries made prior to about a month ago are missing, in each of my accounts. The balances are off also.     - Budget Problems using Money 2004 When trying to set up a budget, I want to include my mortgage payments in the budget. I've got the mortgage set up using the "loan" option so that I transfer payments from my bank account to the "loan" account after each payment. In the budget, it shows my mortgage amount under the "actual" column but it won't allow me to "budget" for the mortgage payment. How can I fix this problem so that my mortgage payments (and other debt payments) show up in the budget planner?     - Account setup temporarily Unavailable I installed Money 2006 standard about a week ago and online setup all my accounts were available for indirect downloading. For some reason, since then, have lost a couple of accounts that are no longer available for the service, one of which is Bank of America (California) this seems to have happened yesterday or the day before. When I attempt to again set up the service I get the subject message. Is anyone else having this same experience? I can however do direct downloads into my accounts.     - Question about upgrading from trial version. I finally got sick of the unreliability of downloading quotes to Quicken. Downloaded the trial of MM7 Deluxe last week and have successfully moved everything to this version. Everything seems to be working fine. Have accounts at Schwab and Merrill Lynch, and American Express CC. The direct download from these institutions seems to be working OK, and the quotes download has been faultless so far. A couple of other CC's require going to their website and manually downloading. No problems so far. The portfolio reports I think are excellent and I like the way the prices get updated when I switch to the portfolio view. The only issue I have run into is that for bonds that return capital this is treated as gains, and also the correct position value is not picked up from the broker, it is just (incorrectly) calculated as price x number of bonds. (Looking at the portfolio report). Looking or a workaround for this. So I ordered MM Deluxe from Amazon ($39.99). (I hope the rebate is included). Will arrive next week. My question (finally) is, is there any trick to installing the regular version over the trial? Should the trial be uninstalled first? Naturally I have the .mny and backup files located in the default "my Documents" folder. I would expect that they would be accessible once the new software is installed. Thanks for any advice.     - Money 2006 Debt Reduction bug I am trying to do a debt reduction scenerio on a Equity line. All the current amounts, rate and loan amounts are the same. I walk through the debt reduction specifiying a monthly amount + $0 on time payment. But for some reason in schedule me a $12000+ one time payment onthe first month.     - Is this "what if" possible? I have a certain debt I want to pay off by May. However, I'd like to fiddle with the numbers (income, expense, unexpecteds) along the way. I have all of my bills enter the register a month ahead of their due date. I then enter my next month's income. This gives me an accurate view of how the next month will go down. I'd like to employ that same strategy to about six months out but not against my main register and I don't want it affecting my net worth. Basically, a parallel world that I can keep the current transactions going in also. This allows me to fiddle with numbers in real-time without affecting the real data.     - Money closes immeadiately password typed in I can open money to the welcome screen but as soon as I type in my password & hit return, although it briefly goes to the next screen, money then immeadiately closes. I've tried system restore to last point where money was used ok, no luck. Tried virus/spybot detection but problem still there. Tried restoring from back up but as soon as I type in the password it closes down again. Anyone any ideas what might be causing problem?     - M07/Yodlee Investment Issue OK. I've been trying the '07 demo before buying, and came across these issues when downloading position information from a 401K recordkeeper. When I go right to the recordkeeper site, I get correct share/price/fund name information, but the ticker is not explicitly shown, as below (This info is from the record keeper's balance page, which is what Yodlee likely screen scrapes): Name Shares Price Value FundCompany w/LongName FundA 100 10.00 1000.00 FundCompany w/LongName FundB 200 15.00 3000.00 TechFunds Fund1 100 20.00 2000.00 Other Company BestFund 0 30.00 0.00 Total Value: $6000 So far, so good. When these positions are read into MSMoney, however, they show up as follows: FundC 300 shares TechF 100 shares Other 1 share The two issues are: 1) the name is truncated and read as the ticker, but for the first two they're not unique, so the holdings for the two funds with the "same" ticker are incorrectly combined and 2) the fund actually not held is reported as held with 1 share. When I look in the MSNMoney placeholder account, I see no pricing, the truncated name in the symbol column (longer than the 5 chars I'm using here, but not long enough to be unique - you get the point), nothing in the name column, and the quantity for unheld funds (incorrectly) at 1, and the market value for those funds (correctly) at 0. Anyone ever see anything like this? If I could map investments to the right ticker somehow on the MSNMoney site, maybe it could import those into M07 properly, but I can't see how. I can't see how to link a MyAccounts account in to an online MSNMoney Portfolio account where I might be able to change tickers, etc. I have no idea how I'd correct the 0/1 shares issue. For reference, I have this account in Yodlee's MoneyCenter aggregator - same ticker mangling (name truncated to non-unique value shown as ticker), but each fund is listed separately, the full name is correct, and unheld securities correctly show as 0 shares, so I'm thinking this is largely in the Money integration side. Does anyone have experience in how interested (or not at all) the MS/Yodlee folks are when errors like this are reported?     - Online Updates not workikng After Upgrading from 2005 to 2007 Deluxe Hi all: I Just bought online / downloaded / installed MS Money 2007 Deluxe. Before installing, I First Uninstalled the Money 2005 OEM version that I've been using for a couple years. Upgrading my data file seemed to go fine, and I can access all of my accounts in the new version of Money... However, Since the upgrade, I've not been able to update any of my bank accounts online. If I check Only the "Update Stock and Fund Quotes" box, it takes a looong time, but eventually returns an "update complete". If I select Any of my actual accounts, I get a "Update Not Complete" error. I saw another posting indicating that others were recently having problems with the Online Updates. Hello, Do you Money users find the new savings and spending budget useful? is it better than the previous one, or worse? easier or more difficult? more accurate or less? during the beta testing, it was, not surprisingly, the matter of a very major discussion, so I'm curious if the end users see it as improvement over the Advanced budget. For me personally, the main practical use of the budget is not just enjoing the verdict "how am I doing", but the accurate answer to the question "can we afford this, and when" (vacation, major purchase, etc.). So far, the budget was of no help: spending and savings, as I understand, does not even try to answer that; the old advanced budget did build the projected cash based on the trends and scheduled bills, but it was so inaccurate that relying on it was merely too risky.     - Money 2006 Investment Account balance display I have two Investment Accounts (401k) in Money 2006 Deluxe. For some reason, Money stopped displaying the account totals on the Account List page. It used to show the account balances and the subtotal for all of my investment accounts. Additionally, I now notice that each account now has a second account with the same name, but has the word "Contributions" added in parenthesis. This seems to be new as well. The data in the accounts still seems alright. My investment subtotal on the Account list page shows a zero balance and there is no balance listed for the accounts themselves.     - Offset Expenses not shown on reports Let's say I have an expense Category called Expense. I record a spending of $200 dollars against that category, but then I record an "income" of $50 dollars, so the total spending is only $150. When I go to "spending by category" report it still shows a spending of $200 (ignroing the "positive") transacion. Is there any way to make it show the "total" amount? (200-50)? Thanks. Hello,

I am frustrated in trying to get debt reduction setup.
I have a sears card that I want to pay 250.00 a month.
Money says the first payment must be 1400.00
How can I tell Money to pay just 250.00?

also I have a fixed loan of 400.00 that does not change.
I do not want money to roll payoffs into this amount.
