Money 2004 Online Services expired
I bougtht Money 2004 Deluxe a few years back. Never used it until recently.
Last night I updated the software (not transactions, etc) and upon reboot, I
could no longer use the Update Prices feature that fetches securities prices
automatically.
Did some research and looked like it was because 2004's Online Services
would have ended on 9/1/2007. Apparently that software update triggered this.
Money website says if this happens, upgrade to the current version of Money.
However is there anyway that I just pay for the Online Services without
upgrading to Money 2008?

Microsoft Money Has Stopped Working
Yesterday I started Money Plus and got a message that there was an update to
download and install. I completed that update and got a message that if
Money didn't run to properly to restart my computer. I did that and when I
try to run Money I get a message that says MICROSOFT MONEY HAS STOPPED
WORKING. I tried to use the fix that you sent me back in November of 2007,
which pointed me to this article in the Microsoft Knowledge Database
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/942485 but it did not work. When I clicked
"turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select:" and tried
to add the Money executable files to the DEP list I got a message that said
"This program must run with data execution prevention (DEP) enabled. You
cannot turn off DEP for this program."
Now what do I do?????

update error
My bank did maintenance on the site which caused a problem in updating
accounts. I have been in contact with them and they gave me instructions on
how to fix this. They said I needed to stop online services and then set up
online services again. My problem is when I go under manage online services
and then choose my bank and choose stop online services, nothing happens. I
think this is due to the fact that on the account list screen it says update
in process next to all the accounts at this bank. Is there a way to stop the
current update in process so that I can cancel the online service? I am

2008 money invoice designer completely broken for me

Vista Ultimate
Money 2k8 Home and Biz Trial
Both updated
I just downloaded the trial version of Money. I plan(ned?) on buying it and
using it for my business.
The first thing I did after installing, was open the Invoice Designer and
try to create an invoice...
I say try because it doesn't work -- at all. First, I tried to add my
company logo but the logo box becomes attached to my mouse pointer and I
cannot resize the logo. I have to hit ESC for the logo box to detach. No
matter what I click on in the designer -- label, textbox, logo -- it becomes
attached to my mouse.
I searched for answers but only found one post with no responses. Money
updated today and still same problem.

Money Plus SP1 issue?
Tonight Money Plus prompted me for a required update to SP1. Since that
point my Credit Union files will not sync (State Employees Credit Union
(NC)). I receive a OFXHTTP500 error.
Doing some searching here and elsewhere I found someone that received this
error and it was due to a corrupted Money file. So, I've not tried to
restore a number of older Money backups and they all give me this same error
- I'm doubting my Money file was in error - I'm strongly suspecting this new
SP 1 update.
I called MS Support and they talked me through Exporting my existing
(non-updating) accounts, setting up new Credit Union accounts and importing
the old records back in. Now, the "new" accounts will update on-line -
however I'm left with a huge mess to go back through my accounts and clean up
all the transactions to point the accounts to the right places (change all
transfers to the "working" account vs. the now non-working ones which I'll
need to delete).
HELP.... anyone have a better suggestion on how to do this? Anyone else

Mortgage bill incorrect
I have set up an automatic bill for my mortgage payment using Money Plus
Delux that includes extra principal. It displays correctly when I edit the
series but when I click on the "Enter in register" button, the dialog box
comes up with just the loan amount. I originally imported this from Money
2003 where it worked and I deleted and reentered it but to no avail.

Money 6 Platinum. Getting a message at startup that I cannot sign in and
that the server may be down for repair. I can update prices only. I am in

Money Plus Update
The next time you open Money Plus, expect a pop-up regarding an
update. It will say it is closing Money, but you may have to deal
with the backup popups if you have Money set up that way. Wait a
minute or two. Reopen Money.
Those who removed spending and performance modules from the home
page due to very slow performance should be able to add those back
with reasonable performance.

Revert data from 2005 to 2002 UK version?
I 'upgraded' to the UK 2005 version about 2 years ago, but it is now
failing to connect to my online banks. I seem to remember some in-
built obsolescence in the online features so I presume this is the
problem
Is it possible to revert the data file back to the 2002 version? IIRC,
there was a warning about upgradings not being backwards compatible
when I loaded the 2005 version.
If that is so, what is the best way to revert the data back to the
2002 version?

Money 2005 - not allowing me to work online or offline
Money 2005 is no longer allowing me to access the program. When I try to
connect online I get an error message that my email address or password is
incorrect, or the server is down. When I try to connect offline it tells me
my password can not be verified and I need to go online.
The result is that the software is completely inaccessible. I have tried to

MS Money 2007 Deluxe Scheduled Backups
I have scheduled backups set to perform a scheduled backup every 14 days.
I suppose the files wrote by this scheduled backup are named
"<name> Backup <n>.mbf". Most recent such file I can see in my directory
are more than 6 month old.
My settings seem correct.

Overdraft protection
I have a VISA credit card that automatically puts money in my bank checking
account if my checking account balance goes negative due to overdrawing the
account. In Money 2008, how do I categorize this transaction? Currently I'm
calling it Other Income, but I don't think that is correct. Any suggestions.

Money Plus - Vista compatablility problem
I am trying to move Money Plus to a new computer that runs Vista. Money Plus
is asking for a 20 digit key & the Money plus has a 25 digit product key. I
enter new banking data but Money Plus never retains the new data. Any ideas?
I have reloaded a dozen times. I reloaded the trial version thinking that
may be the 20 digit product code stuck on the new computer. I have a week
tied up trying to find the magic combination to make Money Plus run on Visa.

Online banking access
I downloaded Mocrosoft money home and business and trying to set up the
banking and credit card information for online access.
Although I have active online access to the bank and credit card, it
continuously tells that "Currently, the account set up is unavailable. Please
try later again"(banking) and " you don't have online access to that
financial institution"(Credit card).
I tried many times and this problem persists. I went to online troubleshoot
where I didn't find any solution for this.

Reconcile multiple accounts
I am currently using Money 2004 and have three checking accouts set up in
Money but all three are actually one bank account. In an older version of MS
Money I could combine multiple account to reconcile as one. Does anyone know
if I can do this is Money 2004?
If not, I am ready and willing to upgrade to Money Plus Deluxe but want to
make sure the combined balancing feature is available before I purchase.

Invoice Currency not base currency - Money 2007 H&B
I'm in Canada trying to use this product. My base currency is CDN, yet
when I create an invoice it is in US$. I've made sure my Windows
settings are Canadian.
Internet searches show people asking how to create multi-currency
invoices (which doesn't seem possible). In some of those posts I've
seen people say that invoices are created in the base currency. This
is not correct - invoices seem to always default to US$

How do we associate a bill with a downloaded transaction?

I'm using Money Plus H&B
I've scheduled some electronic transfers into my Money Bills summary
However, I had my bank issue the transfers directly (not within money).
I've now downloaded the latest info from my bank into Money and the
transfers show up as expected in their appropriate registers in Money.
I now need to "accept" each transfer.
However, I'd like to be able to tell Money which transfer in the Bills
summary each newly downloaded transction is associated with (and hopefully
have Money automatically clear the transaction in Money's Bill
summary.
Can I associate these downloaded transactions with their counterpart
in the Bills summary and if so how?

mouse freeze
Hello,
The mouse fails to work when I'm moving between Microsoft Money 2007 Home
and Business and the help screen. To get the mouse moving again, I usually
need to use the laptops clicker to return to the Money home page. The

I s it possible to resore my backup file with a new account? I have had to
change my msn email to a different one and now it won't let me restore the

Money 2005 won't restore back up file.
I run XP and have recently had to reload Money 2005 Premium and then tried to
restore my back up file with no success. The back up file was created with
the updated (by Microsoft) 2005 programme hence the the reloaded original
Money 2005 programme will not restore the back up file and the usual error
message appears. I am unable to update my original Money 2005 programme as
Microsoft have stopped supporting this version as of last January according
to their website. Is there a way round this problem or is there an updated
version of Money 2005 Premium available out there for sale? Failing the
foregoing does any one know whether Money 2008 Deluxe will restore or accept
the data in my 2005 back up file? Any help with this problem would be
greatly appreciated here down under.

Auto Delete of Sold Securities
MoneyPlus, like previous versions, auto deletes the record of sold
investments after 30 days. The investment is gone even from the list of
investments available to delete. After 30 days, the investment won't
display in Portfolio Mgr (w/display closed positions set on), nor in
relevant Reports.
Transactions still display in the Account Register and in tax Reports, but
one can't track performance by account or investment type because the sold
investments won't display in any of these Reports.

Can no longer display payment address/info for epay transactions
Ya gotta love how things inexplicably stop working in Money, Money 2007 in my
case.
Suddenly, I can no longer display the payment address for any of the epay
transactions in my checking account register. When I select a transaction and
either:
1. Press the Options button and then select "Edit Address: <Payee>"
2. Press the "Pay to:" hyperlink
nothing happens.
This is having a nasty side-effect: If I enter a new epay check (i.e., a
withdrawal) to a new payee, I can't submit the transaction. I'm no longer
prompted to enter the address and account number...and nothing happens when I
press the Enter key--presumably because Money doesn't know where to instruct
the payment to be mailed to.
I've performed a Quick File Repair and a Standard File Repair, without
improvement.
Please help me understand what would cause this to happen...and how can I

Can't access internet from Money Plus

Due to previous installation issues, I can only run my MS Money by "run as
adminstrator", then when I connect to bank to download statements MS Money
Plus starts IE7 (also as administrator). OK I can live with that.
All has being going fine til today. Today when using IE7 from within Money
the browser hangs, both when trying to connect to the bank and MSN Money
site. So I went to use the browser from outside Money. Normally with my own
user account I can at least download another file format ?.ofc, but today I
was completely unable to download anything... until I switched to
administrator user account (did not hang), signed on to bank website and
downloaded normally. Then I had to switch back to my own account to reopen
Money to import data.
There have been not Windows updates, no changes to Norton Security/Firewall,
No browser security setting changes. Just woke up to this problem. Any
solutions to this? I don't mind running Money as administrator then using
admin browser from within the program, so we can leave that alone. I do want
to download my statements without totally switching accounts then going back

Getting consistent report exports to Excel
Hi,
I have set up a "favourite" report showing spending by subcategory for
the last 12 months as a column of figures. My plan is that each month
I will export the figures to an Excel spreadsheet column for that
month. This will allow me to track changes in my expenditure patterns
based on a rolling 12-month average for each category.
Anyway, the problem is that at the moment if a particular subcategory
has no expenditure in the month in question then there simply isn't as
row for that subcategory, and consequently everything below the
missing row is thrown out of allignment in the spreadsheet. I thought
I'd seen somehwhere an option to force the report to produce a row
even for empty categories, but now I can't find it.

When first using the Invoice designer, I selected basic type of invoice but
now I cannot find how to go to advanced invoices since there are options not
available in basic.
1 -How tto change the type of invoices in MS Money Plus 07 from basic to

Importing updated Categories
Editing the category list in Money, especially when you have many edits that
you want to do, is extremely painful. Why so many screens, etc? I wish
their was an outline mode where I could do some quick things like hit tab to
make a category a subcategory of the category above it, etc. Play around
with the outline features of Word or MS Project and you'll quickly get the
idea as to what I am talking about. As far as the attributes of a category,
just have a category inherit its parent's attributes, by default, then the
user can modify them (without having to jump to a new screen).
So I guess my question is , "Is there a more efficient way to edit the
category hierarchy, then the overly simplistic one provided by default in the
UI?" If not, then is there a way to export the current category hierarchy,
edit it in Excel (or somewhere else), then reimport it back into Money?
Considering the current UI, I could probably do the edits faster in notepad,
working on raw SGML or XML.
Anyway, any help or thoughts are greatly appreciated.

MS Money 2006 automatic updates

Program: MS Money 2006 Version 15.0.6.513
I just installed MS Money 2006 on my new computer and it works just fine.
The only problem I have is that every time I start MS Money it comes up with
the message that it is downloading updates. After i click on OK the following
message appears:
"Your Money software requires an update before you can install the update
you need to close money, log on to windows as a member of the Administrators
group and then restart Money"
I am the only users installed on this PC so I know I am an administrator.

Archive File Password
I tried to open an archive file done back in December. I tried to open the
file today but keep getting a message that email or password is incorrect. I
have not changed either.

Cannot run Money Plus on Server 2008 x64
I've tried installing and running with the administrator account, and still
no luck. When attempting to run the installed program, it shuts down
immediately when it starts to load. Event Viewer reveals the following
error:
Faulting application msmoney.exe, version 17.0.0.724, time stamp 0x46a6d80b,
faulting module unknown, version 0.0.0.0, time stamp 0x00000000, exception
code 0xc0000096, fault offset 0x02dd3aa8, process id 0x354, application

Though I do not know if it is related, further back in the logs, I see there
was a warning during installation:
Product: Microsoft Money Shared Libraries. The application tried to install
a more recent version of the protected Windows file
C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\IdentityCRL\ppcrlconfig.dll. You may need to
update your operating system for this application to work correctly.
(Package Version: 3.200.4153.0, Operating System Protected Version:
3.200.4152.0).
I also noticed that while installing, the progress thermometer jumped from
about the 20% mark directly to 100%. Though it did say the product was
successfully installed, it seems like a large portion of the installation
routine was skipped.
According to the Money Plus system requirements --

- it should work on 64-bit versions of Vista. Therefore, I would think it

I just loaded Money Plus Deluxe onto mu XP Home. Everything loaded fine
until I'm asked to sign in with my Windows Live emaila dn password. It keeps

Money 2005 on Vista
I've had it working just fine. I copy the Money file back and forth between
a Vista machine and an XP. Last week, after almost a year using Money 2005
on both machines, I was seeing weirdness - on the Vista machine, all the
deposits were gone! So I copied the working file from the XP computer
(where it was working just fine - Money 2005 on XP). Same problem.
So I unistalled Money 2005 and reinstalled it on the Vista machine. Now I
get the message that this file is an older version that needs to be
converted. If I say OK, it tells me it can't find the file.

Turn off budget reminders?
I am using Money 2006 Deluxe, but I do not wish to keep a budget. It seems
that every time I enter a transaction I am asked "The category you have
selected for this bill is not currently part of your budget. Do you want
Money to add the category so that your budget will include the bill?"

Money 2005 International version and OEM
Hi all,
I am looking to buy Money 2005 and would like to get the Deluxe
edition to track investments as well. Unfortunately in New Zealand
where I live the only version that appears to be available to me is
Money 2005 Standard. Money 2008 is not available for our area.
I have been online and found that there is a Microsoft Money 2005
Deluxe but want to know if it is an International version. Also, does
anyone know if the International version would have localised bank
support?
Finally, the online version mentions that it is OEM. Could you tell a
novice how this will differ from a standard package?

How far ahead of due date?
Hi all:
The answer to this question probably varies depending upon one's banking
institution but I'll ask the question anyway... :-)
Typically how far ahead of the actual due date of bill should we schedule
payment of that bill in Money when paying online using a bill pay service?

Portfolio Cash Column
Within my portfolio, I have the cash column loaded. It shows the amount of
actual cash in my accounts just fine (such as in my IRA, shows the amount I
have in cash.)
However, for all my mutual funds, it also shows cash balances. These cash
amounts are then added to my "actual" cash amount, which throws the total
cash amount off for my entire account.
At first, I thought this was maybe the amount of cash the mutual fund has in
cash (percent in cash for the mutual fund, multiplied by the market value of
my holding). However, I don't believe this is the case. Does anyone have
ideas what these cash amounts for mutual funds are?
