Sure, but you will have to know who's who in the data and the accounts. You
could consider account names like Checking (user a) and Checking (user b).
You could also consider "Classification" which allows a second and third
level of transaction tagging similar to the category method. But many of the
tools like Forecast Cash Flow and Net Worth reporting and so on will not
work well in this kind of application. I don't think I'd recommend this
approach, but I guess it ultimately depends on the depth on intermingling of
the finances of the two people involved. Not so intermingled ("just
friends"): use two files and enter the transfers by hand under some
income/expense categories you know are just "transfers among friends".
Pretty seriously intermingled ("spouses who want to keep separate
accounts"): just put it all in one file and, maybe, have some favorite
reports and/or Classification to show the accounts and income/expenses
separately.
