I would like to start using Money 2005 but with a fresh new file. (Not an
upgrade) I've read about all the problems that people have had but it seems
like it is associated with upgrading from a previous version. Has anyone out
there not had problems?

My upgrade went smoothly save for Money mangling my Food:Groceries and
Food:Dining Out to Groceries and Dining Out. But one I started using it for
a while, I realized I despised it and returned it for my money back.

I have had no problems but I don't use any of the MS on-line services apart
from share price updates.

To start a fresh file use File > New. Don't double click on the existing
file name.

I did this and I still can't get the GM Card to sync. Periodically it asks
me to disable the MSN BillPay sync and re-enable it. About every other day
it won't sign in with my passport (I also created a fresh passport for it).
I think it's a terrible product.

I've had good luck with it. I didn't start a new file (converted from 2004)
but it works well for me. I do use the online features . My bank provides
excellent downloads (ofx file - formatted the way it's suppose to be etc.) -
I think that is the key to success or failure with the product.

Things are quite a bit better if you start from scratch

But not perfect. My GM Card syncestopped working again just days after I
built a new file. They suck. They really do.

And just as a side note... I am on my eighth brand new file. Apparently, MS
thinks you should start over every couple of weeks.

Everything works great in the brand new file, but give it time and each
thing will break one at a time... and there is not fixing it... or at least
until MS fixes the problems with both Money and MSN Money.

Good Luck!!
