Mine is about 16MB and Money is running slowly and the processor is somwhat
overloaded.

Having trouble keeping MSN Money Sync Working
I really need some advise on this Money Synchronization Update problem.
I have been reading this forum, but it doesn't look like anyone has had
the exact problem that I've had. So after spending all day Saturday
trying to solve this problem on my own (and messing up my Bill Pay
schedule big time), I am looking for ANY other ideas.
On every Money update my Call Summary Messages have the error message
on MSN Money Sync " UPDATES TEMPORARILY UNAVAILABLE" which ALSO causes
my SEARS account to not work/update as well. I have no other problems
updating my other accounts "Citi, Chase, Credit Union."
So here are the steps I have taken so far (found on the MS website):
1)Disable MSN Money Sync under Tools/Settings/Acess Data on Web
2)Disable MSN Bill Pay under Manage Online Services/Stop using MSN Bill
Pay
3)Re-enable MSN Money Sync (And all works well... MSN Money syncs... I
get the check mark on the Call Summary Messages page. It seems fixed. )
Then I have the message to Update Now to renable MSN Billpay. So I
re-enable MSN BIllpay by clicking on Update Now. MSN Billpay is now
renabled. However, after doing this, the MSN Money Sync is back to the
same error message as before "updates temporarily unavailable".
IF I try to set up my Sears accout after I re-enable MSN Money Sync,
BUT BEFORE re-enabling MSN Billpay, then I am able to do so. My Sears
account will setup, recongize password, and download transactions. But
once I re-enable MSN Billpay, Sears account updates stop working as
well. Therefore it seems to me that I can setup and update the SEARS
account when MSN Money Sync is working, but not after it stops working.
I also tried to UNCHECK MSN Billpay when I UPDATE NOW to see if MSN
Sync would work, but I still didn't have a successful MSN Money sync. I
really wouldn't care so much if MSN Sync didn't work, but I REALLY want
my Sears account to update.
I have also run the Quick AND Standard Money Repair with no change to
this problem.
I would appreciate ANY suggestions of other things to try.

Money 2003 - cannot archive transactions when business-related
I'm using MS Money Deluxe & Business Edition 2003, almost all accounts
are set up as personal, however since I do independent contracting I
also have a "business receivables" account containing various invoices.
This is the only account I have assigned for business use. When
invoices are paid, payment is usually deposited into a personal checking
account, which is balanced / reconciled every month.
The problem relates to archiving the old stuff - I know that Money will
not archive transactions that take place between accounts (i.e.
transfers) if only one side of the transaction is reconciled. In this
case, there are tons of old transactions in the personal checking that
did not get archived because, even though they're reconciled on the
checking side, they apparently are not reconciled on the "business
receivables" side.
I had always assumed that in my invoice list, when I select "receive
payment" on an invoice and fill in the details, it automatically
reconciles that side of the transaction. Apparently this is not
happening. Since "business receivables" isn't a typical asset or bank
account, I can't clear transactions or balance the account in the same
manner as I would with those accounts, so the archiving is incomplete.
What am I missing?

Unwanted Stock Split
I loaded Money 06 today and notcied that one of my stocks, which I have
tracked for over 6 years, had lost half it value. When I checked into it it
looks like for some reason money has a small "s" after the price in each
transaction and the number of shares I purchased was half to ture amonut. It
is in every transaction from the start. Does anyone have a clue how to fix
this? I do not want to go in and fix over 100 entries in I do not have to.

Money file won't open
I've recently migrated from Quicken to Money 2005 and it has opened just
fine until today. Now I get a screen saying Money will update make a copy
of my file and then update it with the latest improvements, but I can't get
the file to open - and I do have the correct password.

Ok, I didn't change anything that I know of. My MsM donwloads directly

my bank. THe past couple of times when I update, I see "Items to

Portfolio doesn't work

to China? It is frequently broken down and doesn't work. It has been

My Bank suggest I upgrade MSMONEY from 2003 to 2006. However, I have read
herein so many "nays" regarding 2006. I am very familiar with 2003; and
other than slow it works find on my xp-machine. And I know what it does!

How do I get my legit MS Money back?
Several months ago I bought and installed MS Money. I had been working along
OK until I had PC issues this week. I had to reformat and reinstall
everything. I tried reinstalling the MS Money Webinst.exe that I saved, but
it keeps telling me that it is a trial version and will not install.
I am a legitimate owner of an MS Money license. I am looking for my receipts
but cannot seem to find them. But I can verify my identity and the fact that
I purchased it if I can find the right person or website to contact. As a MOF
I believe I made the purchase signed in with my passport account.
This is very important to me and any help is appreciated.

Error with imports and manual transaction entering.
When i tried imported a bank statement today money would now show the
transactions but has the (* new) transactions next to the account even tho
the actual transaction does not show. After this failed import i cannot enter
transactions in manually either. It says an error has occurred so i try again
and it puts the transaction in but the value is wildly off (10-100 times the
value i entered). I restored a backup from yesterday and the manual
transaction methods works correctly now but once i try importing a bank

Transaction Memo Data
When I download bank info, the Money checking register shows the additional
Memo data initially, but usually within 2 minutes or so, that data disappears
(or is deleted) leaving only the Payee info intact. Why does Money do this?

I've used MSN Money's Portfolio for years and just started getting the

Online Update of Mutual Fund Prices are 1 Day off
Money 2006: The price obtained using online updates for Mutual Funds are now
showing the previous day's date for today's price. The update is being made,
it just has yesterday's date.
This makes the Portfolio Manager's "TotChng" read the incorrect value.

Investment updates blow up
Here's the situation: My wife and I both have accounts at the same
investment firm. Since we have IRA's I cannot update both of our information
from one logon/password. My wife and I do, however, share some accounts.
So, I update my accounts and our shared accounts from my logon/password. I
update my wife's individual accounts from her logon/password. Money also
wants to update our shared accounts from my wife's logon/password but I've
told Money that the our shared accounts from her logon/password are "closed."
Money apparently can't handle this typical situation to determine that
accounts from different logon/passwords may actually be joint accounts.
Anyway, I've gotten around that but a new issue crept up within the last
month. My wife's logon/password was successfully updating her accounts.
Lately, however, her logon/password will update all of our shared accounts
and my individual accounts!! So, Money will add multiple duplicate accounts
to my account list for shared and my accounts and it will FAIL to update her
accounts. Money appears to be updating accounts successfully through my
logon/password and then will run her update using my logon/password! I've
re-setup her logon process many times and I've confirmed her update uses her
logon/password, not mine. So why would Money think it's updating her
information when in fact it tries to update mine twice? Strange I realize,

Updating Accounts
About a month ago I opened my Money program and saw that it had deleted the
sign-on info I had saved for Home Depot and MBNA. Since then, it has not
allowed me to set up online updates. I keep getting "Account Updates Not
Available, Please Try Again Later". These accounts had been updating fine
before this. I have called support, talked to support online, they closed the
session every time as unresolved. WHAT'S THE DEAL? I am seriously looking

2004 vs 2006 handling of "Server price update problem"
You know when the server doesn't update the prices in your copy of
Money, but the prices ARE available elsewhere/ the next day at MSN ? (
Like last night)
NORMALLY , in M2004 that night I can see the "price change column" is
correct but the price was not updated, and I do it manually ( like I
just did)
So for Fidelity Low Priced Stock I change see that it went up by $0.07
and since it WAS 41.74, I know the new price is $41.81 so I update it
and all the other funds too. ( BTW when I need to do this, prior to
starting Money, I change the date on my PC back to "yesterday", so the "
Today's total change" column is shown for those that were updated
online- I can skip those).
This morning when I opened M2006 the "price change column" shows UNCH
yet the price of the fund IS correct. That's something that I hadn't
noticed before. So with the same info provided by the server, M2004
updates the "price change column", yet doesn't update the price. M2006
updates the price and shows it as "unch". Anyone else with another
version notice a difference ?
SO, if this is now true, I could open M2006 - take a snap of the screen
and update M2004 on the other PC manually without doing the math in my

Initial Investment and Business Reports
I started a small business, and used a Home Equity as a down payment. The
rest of the money came from an SBA loan. I got the money from the HE loan
before the closing. I deposited the money in the Business Checking Account,
under other income.
Now it shows up in my PL Statement as income, and that is not right. It is
tied to a Liability ( HE Loan). I was thinking of using the value as a
starting balance of the Checking account to get around this, but there must

CD Investment in Money 2005
Hi all,
I have been tracking CD's in money for a while. What I had been doing was to
buy a $10,000 CD in "investment A" from my Checking account. When I received
interest I would go under cash transactions and record them in category CD
Interest. When the CD expired I redeemed the CD for the principal + interest.
But this leaves my Account value to a value equal to the interest amount.
I read through here and found that instead of using the cash transactions I
should do "reinvest interest" for interest transactions. I changed all the
amounts to reflect the change. Now when I go to redeem the CD with the
following information:
Investment: Investment A
Activity: Redeem CD/Bond
Transfer to: Checking 1
Value: 10000
Interest: 500
Total: 10500
I get this error.
"Adding this Sell, Remove, or Redeem Shares activity will cause the balance
of 'Investment A' held in this investment account to become negative at some
point. Please cancel or revise the transaction."
What am I doing wrong here? Or is it money that is causing the problem?
Please guide me as to what can I do to get this fixed.

How to manage Renovation of the house?
We bought our home 3 years ago for cash, and value of the house is about
doubled since then. Also we made improvemen such as kitchen, bath renovation,

"Microsoft Money 2002 System Pack," as well as "Microsoft Money 2004 System

Start Up Money 2006 Screen
My start-up screen has changed and it causes Money to be opened 'off-line',
but the 'work off-line' button does not appear. The opening screen now shows
the file location of the Money file, but not the MS Passport log in I usually
see.
Has anyone seen this problem before?
I worked with Support over the weekend and they had me remove my CA
PestPatrol saying it did not work with Money, but the problem perists.

Price line items on Invoices in Money 2006 SB
Hi,
I just installed Money 2006 for Small Business and have run into a strange
problem with the Price line items on the invoice form. These prices print as
44 instead of $44.00. The total for each line, as well as the totals at the
bottom of the invoice, include the decimals (44.00), but still no $. Which
setting haven't I found yet that will fix these issues?

Installing Money 2005 on Vista Beta 2
Hello,
I recently wiped my hard drive and installed vista beta 2, and now I'm
trying to install Money 2005 from the original CD. During installation, I
get about 90% done, and then "fontinst" crashes, and windows closes the money
installer. I can launch money, but right away it says it's missing
components and then shuts down.
I've tried telling windows to run fontinst and money's setup program as
administrator, and i've also told it to run in XP compatibility mode, but it
doesn't help. It seems that others have successfully installed Money 2005 in
Vista (or was it already installed and they just upgraded to Vista?) so I'm
hoping someone's had this problem before and knows how to fix it.

Unsolicited Bank of America credit card
Has anyone received an unsolicited credit card from Bank of America?
I am trying to locate other individuals who, like me, have received
unsolicited credit cards from Bank of America; that is, people who have
actually had accounts opened in their name without their authorization.
I recently received a solicitation to apply for a credit card and,
although I ignored the solicitation, I later received a credit card in
the mail. I have since confirmed that a Visa account has been opened
without my authorization and that the account already appears on my
credit report with the 3 credit reporting agencies.
To be clear, I gave no authorization (written or verbal) to the bank to
open this account. It is not a renewal card -- I have no credit card
accounts with this bank.
It appears that this is a violation of the Truth-In-Lending Act -- "No
credit card shall be issued except in response to a request or
application therefor. This prohibition does not apply to the issuance
of a credit card in renewal of, or in substitution for, an accepted
credit card."
Please reply if you have been issued a credit card from Bank of America

Credit card due dates
Is it possible to view due dates with money 05? My accounts are set up for
online updating. It downloads the recent transactions, but it doesn't seem
to show due dates for payments.
Also, is there any way to set up a credit card with bank of america? It can

Credit card payment due dates?
Is there any way that money 05 can track the due dates of my credit cards? I
have the accounts added to money and the online banking set up with automatic
updates. It downloads new transactions fine, but it doesn't seem to make any
mention of when my next payment is due. I can't set up payments because the
due date changes every month.
Also on a side issue, anyone know how to add a bank of america credit card?

Possible to clear autocomplete cache?
I'm wondering if it's possible to clear out the contents of the
autocomplete cache. After several years of MS Money updates, there's a
good amount of old junk in there. I'd like to start fresh. I assume

Split Transaction Annoyance
I *think* this is new in MSM2006, but am not sure. When entering a split
transaction, once the split categories and amounts are entered, you click
"Done" if it all adds up to the total amount of the transaction. No
problem. If the splits don't add up, you're given popup choices to fix it.
Fine. So, by opting for "Done," you've told Money you're finished with
entering the split information and that it's correct.
This takes you back to the main transaction page, which now has "Accept"
bolded for action. However, if you press "Accept," you lose all the
information you've entered under the splits! You must first press the
unbolded "Enter" and then "Accept."
While it's not at all difficult to press the extra button, since there is no
warning pop up about it or bolded text, I often forget and press "Accept."
I then have to go back and re-enter often very long lists of data.
Is there some place to set an option to be warned about this? Or someplace
to set Money to enter this information automatically when pressing "Done" on
the split field? If not, does anyone know of a cheap flight to Redmond, so

Category spending report duplication, etc.
MONEY 2005 STANDARD EDITION: I entered my category info in my checking
account register, then when looked in reports several showed up as
unassigned.... so I assigned them categories AGAIN... and then they appear as
duplicates in the intended category. It seems they are originally in BOTH
categories... unassigned and the intended. I used an older version of Money
