To really appreciate Money, you need to either investigate, or actually
try for a while, the convenience features that it provides.
My personal favorite is the ability to sync with various financial
instutions (FIs), such as banks, investment/brokearges, and credit card
companies. If you FI participates (see Money home page for list), you
can get all your transactions to 'download' in the 'background'
(whenever you have an internet connection open) and then the next time
you open an account in money with new transactions, you can accept,
reject, or change the matching entry (against what you manually
created). This is very nice when it works with credit cards, for
example if you charge gasoline purchases to a credit card, a few days
after you make each charge, the entry shows up in the account register.
Balancing things at the end of the month is very quick and
straightforward.
Second most useful feature, in my opinion, is the ability to pay bills
and do transfers online.
Having said all that, I believe if a FI participates 'online' with
Money, it will likely do so with Quicken. I can't speak to how user
friendly the screens are in Quicken for doing this, though.
