I downloaded Money 2007 trial and used it until the day it expired, so I
purchased an upgrade. I purchased the Money Essentials, but after installing
it and trying to open my existing Money 2007 file, it says it cannot open
existing Money files. I did not read anywhere that it was not compatible
with my existing Money file. I don't want to have to start all over and
enter all my information into the new one. What can I do? Isn't there some
way to import or export the data? Please Help!!

Essentials will not work with a file from a previous version.
Return that using the help address in your confirming email.
http://www.microsoft.com/money/ProductDetails.aspx?pid=002 says
"** Important note ? Microsoft Money Essentials will not be able to
open previous Money (Money Deluxe, Money Premium, or Money Home &
Business) or Quicken files. If you are upgrading from a previous
version of Money or Quicken, Money Plus Deluxe may be the right
solution for you."

You want Deluxe. You can start with the free trial if you like.

Well, I guess if I had read the fine print I would have seen that huh? Sorry
about that. Well then, can you tell me if the Money Essentials has the
projected cash flow view? I only use the check register and bills feature of
Money. The other stuff I don't have a use for. But I do like the projected
cash flow that was in the Money 2007 Trial. If Essentials has that then I
might just keep it and once again start over. I kind of browsed through to
see if I could find it, but it could be named something different so I
thought I'd just ask. Thanks for the help.

I don't know. File->New->NewFile should let you create a new file
with a different name to check that out. I think you have 30 days to
return Essentials.

Consider this: Essentials expires online data sooner (1 year vs 2).
http://www.microsoft.com/money/ProductDetails.aspx?pid=004&active_tab=Compare
says "1. For Money Essentials, online services are available for one
(1) year after activation of Microsoft Money Essentials or September
1st, 2008, whichever is earlier."

Maybe somebody will know about that.
