Hey All,

I have been having a problem for the last couple of weeks (and I'm sure sure
if it has to do with the 2005-2006 upgrade) or its something else, but my
Fidelity Accounts stop downloading transactions for no obvious reason. The
position data and cash balance comes down, and Money wants to adjust the
positions, but Buy/Sell and Deposit/Withdrawal transactions on the cash side
are not downloaded. The strange thing is (aside from the fact that I don't
have any problems with the rest of my accounts) if I disable downloads,
renable them, and download the last 7 days of transactions, everything comes
down fine, matches correctly and I'm set. Its just a bit of a pain to have
to do this on a weekly basis. Any ideas?

Money 2006?

Does the problem occur each time, or is it some percent of the time?
If it is only sometimes, you could try updating Fidelity only every
few days to reduce the opportunities for the problem.

If this problem only occurs at a particular time of day, you could
try a different time of day.

I have this problem form time to time. Usually after the download, when I
look at the details it says that Fidelity failed to update and then offers
me a chance to re-enter the online username and password, which I do, and
then it works. I think it is a problem on their end, but . . . I have a pw
manager (roboform) which may also be enterning info in those fields
inappropriately, so if you have such a manager, try disabling it for a few
days and
see if that helps. If it does, delete the roboform pw files relating to
fidelity.

I have this problem from time to time and don't have a password utility. I
suspect it's on the Fidelity side.

Inconsistent with your description, it doesn't lose my password. It simply
works okay later.

I have a Fidelity account and use Money 2006 premium. I do all my data
input manually. Although I really don't have much activity there as far
as buying and selling, I do get dividends and monthly interest for both
my Net Benefits and my regular investments. I determined a long time
ago that the so called automatic updates to Money from various FI's
don't always work and even when they work there is timing issues. I
want to look at my Money personal finance data and KNOW it has the most
up to date information about my finances. The only way currently I can
know that is to do the data input myself. I do that and because of that
my Fidelity accounts at Fidelity web site agree TO THE PENNY with my
balances in Money. And if they don't agree, I can immediately check the
web site and find out what the problem is. Seems to me this is much
easier than going thru the continual exercise of trying to MAKE the
automatic downloads report RIGHT. Steve

I don't continually try to MAKE the automatic downloads report right. They
always catch up correctly on their own with no effort on my part.

For many it just is not practical to do it manually any longer.
It is still easier to have a download failure periodically than to manually
input everything all the time.
Why would you think otherwise. Apparently you just don't trust the system,
but you check your manual input against it.

I have Money 2003 and do manual updates -- by that I mean that from time to
time, I select the Update Internet information function and let it update Fido
(and multiple other accounts).

I have not checked it recently, but there is a timing problem with this combo.
What happens is that Fido does not update the files I download until sometime
late in the evening. If I do the download before then, I may miss a
transaction and, because of an issue with how Fido figures out when you last
downloaded, it may never get downloaded.

I solve this by only doing Fido updates once a day early in the AM -- before
the market opens.

I dunno if they've fixed this yet, or not.
