Exclude asset account from total net worth

I wish to have asset accounts to keep track of spending on my home and car -
but I would prefer to exclude them from the net worth balance at the bottom
of the Accounts page. Can this be done?

I'll assume you're talking about the "Account List" page.

This page shows every account you have and the total. You *can* change
whether closed accounts are shown, and you *can* change the order in
which the accounts are listed, but you *cannot* change the total at the
bottom of the screen. That's the total of all your accounts.

Try running a "Net Worth" report from the reports screen. You can
include and exclude whatever accounts you want. When you get the report
customized the way you want, save it as a favorite report.
