Money 2004 Trial Import issue
Microsoft Money is not recognizing data imports from the
month of sept, 2003. The application is inverting the
date and any date with a DAY less than 12 is brought into
the system with day = month. Any transaction with a date
greater than 12th day of month is not recognized and
errors are provided. Changed regional settings on
computer to US-MM/DD/YYYY format to see if this would
resolve, but same error occurs.
It is important to note that all other transactions from
August 2003-January 2004 have been imported successfully
with correct date.
The other important point to note is that I have
downloaded the "Trial" version, so I cannot log a bug or
get Microsoft to identify or validate this as a bug.

Money 2004 Setup
I am trying to setup Money 2004, during the install
process it asks me what languange, and gives me about a
half dozen choices, including Singapore, Ireland, Hong
Kong, and other odd choices, but no USA English. I have
to choose one of them. I select 'Other'. Then on
account setup, I only given about 8 financial
institutions, all either Spanish or South Americans.
The spelling in my installed version is very UK English.
Any idea how to fix this either during install or post
install?

"Date" column right-justified?
WinXP-Money2002 Standard OEM-minimalist user
Hi: Often using Reports my "Date" column becomes
justified to the right (including the word Date) and
mashes up against the Payee column where it stays locked.
Tried adjusting column widths etc., doesn't help--in fact,
using this feature is one of the causes of the problem.
Also, Income categories and Expense categories invert, so
that all of my income appears at the bottom of the
report. Tried clicking arrows in headings but that only
affects the individual transactions.
These things seem to happen randomly and I've yet to
discover what I am doing to cause it. I end up resetting,

Portfolio Default Page
When I open my Portfolio I would like for my custom page
to open ( be the default page ). How to I make my Custom
page my default page. Also, sometimes when I open my
Portfolio it may display currency other than $-most often
the Euro & Ph. I have the $ as the default currency. How

Odd problem
The balance in the Account list for my Pending Account does not agree with
the balance that is displayed when the account is selected.
The Account list shows a balance of $38.50
The Account balanced when you open the account is $5.00
Actual account balance is $5.00

Microsoft Money 2004 Balance Error
When I change a CREDIT CARD account from "sorted by date
(Increasing)" to "sorted by date (Decreasing)" the
balance display messes up (try it, the math doesn't make
any sense, create a credit card with 0 opening balance,
and creater 3 transacations of $50, the math just doesn't
make sense). The math doesn't add up? Any idea how I

Problems sync to MSN
I have my MSMoney 2004 Deluxe set up properly to sync to
MSN. After sync with MSN, I continually have two
accounts that show up with entries to be acknowledged.
The same few transactions show up every time as new,
regardless of how many times I 'Accept' them in MSMoney
and resync to MSN.
Additionally, one of these is a duplicate - shows up
twice when reviewing the account details in MSN, shows up
once on the provider's site. I've updated the account in
MSN, same results.
Not a real problem, but annoying enough that I might turn
off MSN Sync...I get all the MSN-based portfolio updates
and tools even if I don't sync with MSN, right?
Any thoughts?

Applying Payments To Invoices In 2004
I currently have Deluxe & Business 2003. One of the main things that annoys
me in this versio is that when I am in the receive payment window when
entering the payment in, I cannot just double click the invoice in the list
and have that amount apply. I have to click the checkmark and then manually
enter the amount to apply. Does 2004 have the ability to just double click
and stop the double entry?

Spending by category
I'm using Money 2004 Premium.
I'm trying to accurately capture how much I'm spending in
each category, but am running into problems in a few
areas:
Scenario 1: Say I borrow 100 dollars from my savings
account, and put it in my checking. The following month,
I repay the money back into my savings account.
This will make it look like I'm contributing more money
to my savings account than I really am. It will appear
that I contributed an extra 100 dollars to savings that
month, when in fact, I borrowed the money from savings
and am mearly paying the money back. Any ideas on how
to get around this problem?
Scenario 2: Every month I transfer a fixed amount of
money from my credit union, into a joint account with my
wife (at a different credit union). We use the
transferred funds to pay our monthly bills, mortgage, etc.
When I go to analyze spending by category, won't it look
like I'm paying twice as much per month for bills as I'm
actually paying? i.e. My first account will show a debit
to another account for bills, and then the account that I
actually pay the bills out of will show the same.

I'm trying out Money2004, and don't need to use the pre-programmed
categories. I just want to add a specific memo note to each credit card or
check entry. But when I print, it doesn't seem to print Memos. Just

money 2000 restore
I have back up floopys with 2 differant money accounts.
After a system crash and completely restoring my hard
drive, one Money account restored just fine, the other
says I can not restore without a password. I don't
remember putting in a password when I started this
account, and if I had it would be the same one that I use
for EVERYTHING, but it doesn't work.

a disc, I'm told "the disc is full" and it will not
archive my records to the floppy.

I have "Money 2000 Business & Personal" - When I try to
open the program I get the following error message:

Msft. Money 2000 checkwriting question
I am using Microsoft Money 2000, vsn. 8. Whenever I write a new check
in the
checkwriting feature, the PAYEE is automatically entered into a PAY TO
list that
enables me to write future checks to the same payee by scrolling to
the name & highlighting it.
This is a useful feature, but there is a drawback in that some checks
are never written a second time to the same payee and the number of
payees listed in the PAY TO list is getting longer & longer.
My question, therefore, is: is it possible to edit the PAY TO list
and delete
names of some payees?
If so, how is it done?

Payee Rules Manager
Can you use wildcards as part of payee name variations?
I have several stores that when I do a purchase via my
debit card, the payee name has a store number associated
with it, such as "Rite Aid #123". I don't want to have
to put in a variation for each one I may use.
Also, is there a way to have the rules manager ignore
case? I have several others that one store comes through
as "Atm WalMart Super" and another as "ATm WalMart

How to earn money with a very little inversion!!!

money is still coming!!! My wife and children help me=20
opening the envelopes, and I spend my time posting my=20
reports in more newsgroups. This becomes very serious!=20
Definitely it was good worth inversion!

convenient in this report. Just try to keep it the closest=20
possible to the original. Now post your report in, at=20
least, 200 newsgroups (exist more than 25,000 of those=20
newsgroups just in America). But you only need 200. Of=20
course, posting your report in more newsgroups will bring=20
you more money.
Here are some indications about how to introduce this in a=20
newsgroup:
How to handle the newsgroups
1. You don’t need to rewrite this report again to=20
have your own. Just highlights it. To highlight it go=20
(with the arrow) to Edit and make a click in “Select All”.=20
The text should appear highlighted. Then go again=20
to “Edit” and select “Copy”. This will make the =
text=20
copied in the memory of the computer in the file you=20
previously select for that purpose.
2. To select a file in which you will copy the text,=20
you can open a document in “Microsoft Word” or=20
in “Notepad”. Then go again to “Edit” and select =
“Paste”.=20
Now you have the report copied and you can make the=20
arrangements you wish. Remember to add your name and mail=20
address in the last place (#6) as described in the Step 2.
3. Safe this document permanently in a file in your=20
computer, for any change you wishes to do in the future.
4. For the NETSCAPE users: go to “Window Menu” and=20
select “Netscape News”. From the submenu select =
“options”=20
and go to “Show all Newsgroups”. In your server will=20
appear a whole list of those groups. Just select any of=20
them. Then, in the upper left side make a click under “TO=20
NEWS”. This will send you to their news box (or message=20
box). Fill this banner with an interesting title. This=20
title is the first thing they are going to see when=20
someone is looking in their lists.
5. Then copy the text in their program “Posting” with=20
the following the same instructions in #1. Go back to “TO=20
NEWS”, and you are pasting the report there.
6. Press “SEND” which is probably in the upper left=20
side, and you have finished with your first job!=20
CONGRATULATIONS!!!
7. For Internet Explorer users, go to Newsgroup and=20
select “Post an Article”.
8. Paste your report (you know the procedure already=20
by repeating #1).
9. Then repeat # 6.
10. Press “Post” button. And that’s it! Now all what=20
you have to do is post your report in different=20
newsgroups. When you have gotten enough practice, this=20
whole procedure will take from 15 to 20 minutes each=20
posting.
***REMEMBER: As much newsgroup you gather, more answers=20
you will get (money!!!). Also remember that you should=20
post your article in at least 200 newsgroups***. And=20
