    - MS Money Trial wont die... Prior to installing my purchased and downloaded MS Money 2006, I uninstalled via Add|Remove, the 90-day trial version on my PC. (WindowsXP|SP2) However, with the new, non-trial Standard version installed, I still get a warning on application launch that the Trial version has expired etc., and the application disappears from the screen. Within 7 days, I started getting money in the mail! I was shocked! I figured it would end soon, but the money just kept coming in. In my first week, I made about $25.00. By the end of the second week I had made a total of over $1,000.00! In the third week I had over $10,000.00 and it's still growing. This is now my fourth week and I have made a total of just over $42,000.00 and it's still coming in rapidly. It's certainly worth $6.00, and 6 stamps, I have spent more than that on the lottery!! Let me tell you how this works and most importantly, why it works.... also, make sure you print a copy of this article NOW, so you can get the information off of it as you need it. STEP 1 Get 6 separate pieces of paper and write the following on each piece of paper "PLEASE PUT ME ON YOUR MAILING LIST." Now get 6 US $1.00 bills and place ONE inside EACH of the 6 pieces of paper so the bill will not be seen through the envelope to prevent thievery. Next, place one paper in each of the 6 envelopes and seal them. You should now have 6 sealed envelopes, each with a piece of paper stating the above phrase, your name and address, and a $1.00 bill. What you are doing is creating a service by this. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY LEGAL! This program remains successful because of the honesty and integrity of the participants. Simply put your cursor at the beginning of this letter and drag your cursor to the bottom of this document, and select 'copy' from the edit menu. This will copy the entire letter into the computers memory. Step 2) Open a blank 'notepad' file and place your cursor at the top of the blank page. From the 'edit' menu select 'paste'. This will paste a copy of the letter into notepad so that you can add your name to the list. Step 3) Save your new notepad file as a .txt file. If you want to do your postings in different sittings, you'll always have this file to go back to. Step 4) Use Netscape or Internet explorer and try searching for various newsgroups (on-line forums, message boards, chat sites, discussions.) Step 5) Visit these message boards and post this article as a new message by highlighting the text of this letter and selecting paste from the edit menu. Fill in the Subject, this will be the header that everyone sees as they scroll through the list of postings in a particular group, click the post message button. You're done with your first one! Congratulations...THAT'S IT! All you have to do is jump to different newsgroups and post away, after you get the hang of it, it will take about 30 seconds for each newsgroup! **REMEMBER, THE MORE NEWSGROUPS YOU POST IN, THE MORE MONEY YOU WILL MAKE!! Now, those 125 persons turn around and post the MINIMUM 200 with my name and address at #3 and only receive 5 replies each, I will make an additional $626.00! OK, now here is the fun part, each of those 625 persons post a MINIMUM 200 letters with my name and address at #2 and they each only receive 5 replies, that just made me $3,125.00!!! Those 3,125 persons will all deliver this message to 200 newsgroups with my name and address at #1 and if still 5 persons per 200 newsgroups react I will receive $15,625,00! With an original investment of only $6.00! AMAZING! When your name is no longer on the list, you just take the latest posting in the newsgroups, and send out another $6.00 to names on the list, putting your name at number 6 again. And start posting again. The thing to remember is, do you realize that thousands of people all over the world are joining the internet and reading these articles everyday, JUST LIKE YOU are now!! So can you afford $6.00 and see if it really works?? I think so... People have said, "what if the plan is played out and no one sends you the money? So what! What are the chances of that happening when there are tons of new honest users and new honest people who are joining the internet and newsgroups everyday and are willing to give it a try?     - Portfolio not updating stock prices properly Some of my stocks in my portfolio do not update prices throughout the day. Some do, but most do not, including HD, T, ... ones that I know have the correct symbol inputted. For instance, at 7PM, when I look at my portfolio, most of the stocks list the days gain as unch, and still list yesterday's closing price (which didn't update until sometime late the night before).     - Broker statement downloading I find that some of the OPTIONS downloaded from the broker statement do appear in the list of transactions but are absent from the Portfolio summary of that period. Apparently Money did not recognise those transactions as OPTIONS and therefore did not record them accordingly. Please advise how to fix this problem so that Money recognises these transactions as securities. Further more please advise if it is possible to edit the properties of any particular security i.e. change the ticker symbol or change from PUTS to CALLS et The dialog "More ivesting tasks - View all investment activities" presents a list of securities to choose from.     - Access away from home Hello, I was wondering if someone could tell me if you can access Money from somewhere other than the computer it is downloaded on. For example can I access it from work or a friend's computer? If so, how do you do it and can you still retrieve the same info? I'm not sure what a pocket PC is but saw somewhere you can access Money from it, is this all your personal info too, like bills due, payments made, etc.?     - Unsuccessful statement updates One day about a week ago, my Home Depot and Sears credit card accounts would not update although I have had them working for the last six months. After going through the process of online setup, Money appears to download my acount information then an error message box pops up saying the information could not be updated from your bank or brokerage. When I send the error message into Microsoft, the bleow data is presented on a web page but without any guidance. Anyone have the same problem?     - Portfolio - updating funds I am suddenly experiencing problems with MSN Money updating certain fund prices properly. I think (but am not sure) that the problem is that it is putting the decimal point in the wrong place (for example, Â£9,560.95 is being shown as Â£95.60 because the price is wrong by two decimal places). Hi guys- I have an investment account with MB Trading and it used to be that I could update by account automatically through Penson Financial Services (online.penson.com). MB Trading just recently updated their site so I no longer need to (or can) log in directly on penson's site and now my info won't download either.     - Archive Question Hi, archived my transactions in Money 2004, I had tried to restore them using the method in the help file, but had so many duplicates I gave up. I have since up graded to 2006. I was wondering if its possible to restore these archived transactions into 2006 or if I'll have to reinstall 2004 and do it there?     - Account Type Hi, I had an insuranc epolicy in India before coming to Canada. There the premiums are invested in various funds. Every day the unit rate of the fund fluctuate. Now which type of fund this would fall so that I can track my funds in India. Similarly I opened another Universal Life Account, premiums paid on monthly bases.     - 401K Mutual Fund Manual Price Updates I have a 401K that tracks NAV of the funds differently than the prices auto-downloaded by Money for the same symbol (don't ask me why???). I have turned off Auto-Update of those funds so I can manually update the fund prices myself. The problem is that no matter how many times I try to delete previous on-line price updates, they remain with the Fund. This is kind of minor, but also kind of annoying. I've learned when I add a new fund to this account to disable price updates before my next update and this works for new fund additions, but the old funds are still maintaining those on-line price updates. What's weird is a lot of the prices are from dates before I even initially purchased the funds in the account. I have run the Clear Historical prices and everything else I could find.     - Deleting unncessary stuff How do I delete payees who are no longer active? Similarly, how do I delete the autofill for accounts that no longer exist. For example, I used to have something called "Old account" and now, it is closed. Now, I have "Old OSHA account." Everytime I type "Ol..." it starts with "Old account"--I have to keep typing all letters until "Old O..." shows up. It's just annoying.     - Deleting Investment accounts from Fidelity I was able to download my 401K and IRA from Fidelity to Money but the info was not correct. Fidelity told me to try and start over so I tried to delete the the accounts by going to "change account detail"--"delete account" and it seemed like it was gone. When I went to "Add a new account" and went through the process it not only created "IRA" but also created "IRA #2". I thought I could merge the two accounts but that didn't work either.     - Bank One merger to Chase I have online billpay through my bank, formerly Bank One, now JP Morgan Chase and loved that I could schedule the payments in MS Money and upload to my bank. Since the finalization of the bank merger around the end of March Money has not been able to connect to my account and in fact when trying to resolve it ended up canceling the feature (online banking) within Money for my Chase accounts. In trying to fix the problem I went so far as to add a new 'dummy' JP Morgan Chase Checking account in Money. When trying to connect to the bank's website during this online setup I get this message "Verify that your user name and password are correct, then try again". It is correct, so I am back to scheduling payments online with my bank and downloading. Since this all started I get this message each time I open Money "There may have been problems processing your online transactions.     - Ofx file import and "aliased" transactions In Money 06, I find that some transactions imported into my checking account from Paytrust as ofx files get "aliased" into completely unrelated transactions -- for example, a payment to Jeff the lawn guy gets =EFmported as a payment to Greg the occasional housesitter. Hi,

I try to install MS Money on my PC and I get immediately the following
error message:

"We're sorry, but you do not have power user or administrator
privileges on this computer. Please have someone with power user
privileges on this computer install money."

It makes no sense, because I'm an administrator and it must be a
common problem because I get this message with Money 2005, 2006 (trial
versions too).

I tried to install Money with some other power user but I didn't
succeed.

And what is interessting I know the reason (from the user side) of this
problem.
I get this error ONLY when I change the default "Program files"
drive letter form "C" to "D" during unattended WinXP (SP2)
installation.

Can anybody confirm this unexpected "feature" of the Money installation
program?

I don't know that error, and I don't understand the sentence above.
Money insists on being installed on the same drive as is the OS.

The Money data file can be on any drive.

Hi,

It is quite simple. I have 5 partitions on my HDD and on my first
partition I've installed the OS (Windows folder) and on partition D
I've installed 2 folders "Program Files" (ProgramFilesDir = D:\Program
Files) and "Documents and Settings" (ProfilesDir = D:\Documents and
Settings).

If I after OS installation change registry field ProgramFilesDir back
to "C:\Program Files" I can install MS Money without any problems
(after restart of course) .
