    - DRP Paying Debt Off Too Quickly This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ------=_NextPart_000_0026_01C4DC73.F2172790 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable I am using Money 2004 Deluxe. I currenlty have the Debt Reduction = Planner set up and have included my loans and mortgage. I specified that = I want to have my debt paid off by September 2030 (the date my mortgage = will end). Yet, when the DRP calculates my out-of-debt date, it says it = will be in 2018. A look at the proposed payment schedule for my debts = shows that my mortgage payments are going to double in 2009 (when all my = other debts are paid off). Why is the DRP doing this? When I added the mortgage to the DRP, Money = even recommended that I not pay off this debt early as my interest rate = is lower than my current rate of return on my investments. This early = payment is then throwing off my Lifetime Planner. When I loaded 2005 it attempted to convert my backup files but then gave me a message that the file was password protected, or the disk was write protected neither of which are so.     - M05 issue Okay, I recently downloaded M05 Deluxe and converted my files from M04 Deluxe. Like other folks here on the board, I'm having problems with Money locking up after the sign on screen. The interesting thing is that this only happens when I'm online. If I remove my wireless card from my laptop I can start up Money and access my account with no problem whatsover, but if I am connected or attempt to connect while Money is open, my CPU usage goes through the roof and Money locks up faster than my high school girlfriend. I've tried to disable the Passport login, but it'll lock up before I can accomplish that feat. I've tried when I'm not online, but it won't let it happen (I guess you have to be online to disable your online password...). I've run all the repair and salvage files and everything is fine. While offline, I've gone in and disabled all the online features that I could find, but it still locks up and is utterly worthless. Definitely not worth the price if you ask me.     - Accepting Downloaded Transactions I am using MM05 (w/Nov update) on XP Pro and I have (finally!) been able to get several of my accounts downloading transactions in a somewhat stable manner (quite an accomplishment!). One annoying problem that I have is with transactions are downloaded for my Credit Union Checking/Savings accts (done via Yodlee). They download correctly and usually match up with my manual entries so I then ACCEPT the matches in my register. The problem is that the next time I update those same transactions that I have accepted ask me to match them all over again. It is like it doesn't remember that I already matched them! After a couple of days it finally stops asking for me to match those and the whole process starts again with a new set of transactions. Is anyone else having this problem? I tried searching around to see if this has already been discussed but I couldn't find it. ...just wanted to get as much info as possible before opening another MS Ticket. Thanks for your help!     - when will it ever stop well, this is a problem which is indicative of the many problems with this program. Today when updating information in MS Money, I was told that it couldn't sync with the MSN site and that I should exit MS Money and then come back in. When I did that, I was told that I had to stop MSN Bill Pay and then I could sync with the MSN site. I stopped MSN Billpay and then was asked if I wanted to use the data on MSN Money or my machine. I opted for my machine, since I had been updating it. I immediately noticed that I then had to go back to Setup Online Services and redo my connection with online update for my credit cards and for my BofA account. I also know that when I do that, MS Money will create new accounts for me, and then I will have a problem with having duplicate accounts where one is linked to online updates and the other isn't. However, I am not even able to get to this point. Instead, when trying to setup online services for my cc's or for my BofA, I get the following error message: "Account setup is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later." Does anyone have any suggestions about how to get these accounts reconnected? This is really unacceptable. The program is so full of these problems, that I've now had to re-enter information over a dozen times. I really want get MS Money to a place where I won't have to re-enter all of my data once or twice a week. Do you think that such a thing will be possible? How could Microsoft release a program with so many problems? As an old programmer, I have a lot of patience with computer programs, but this is getting old, fast. -- Cheers, Tom G.     - using money 2005 from two different user accounts Hi, I just upgraded to Money Deluxe 2005. My computer is using the Microsoft XP SP2 operating system. My wife and I have user accounts on the computer customized to our preferences and we would like to be able to use Money from either user login. I installede using My login and configured Money. Then later when using her login to open money it started with the screen as if it were a new install totally seperate from the one I had previously done.     - Password Requests I lost all my money records after a computer crash. I have reconstructed my details and have backed my money to floppy disc.     - How much initial price history? I've recently rebuilt my money file to resolve sync problems. When each investment was added, the price updates were limited to 6 months of history data it seems. This prevents the ROI calculations from working properly because I have buys much earlier. For instance, one investment was purchased 7 years earlier with no transactions since. The only history is the price of the buy and the last 6 months.     - Money 2002 Sys Pk: Error 1606 I need some help. When starting Money 2002 I get an error message with a window title of "Microsoft Money 2002 System Pack". The error message is "Error 1606. Could not access network location (a box that indicates an unprintable character):." The error interrupts the Windows Installer. After "X"ing out of the error (twice). Money opens again "Error 1606. Could not access network location (a box that indicates an unprintable character):." Occurs. After "X"ing out of the error (twice) I can do some work in Money but the error pops up when I am moving around. I have done a number of things but have not been able to clear the problem: 1) I tried to un-install Money 2002 and Money 2002 System Pack. Money 2002 un-installed. Money 2002 System Pack would not un-install. The same error message would appear. After "X"ing through them I would get a "Fatal Error" and the un-install program would abort. 2) I removed the Money 2002 and Money 2002 Service Pack from the register. I could still not un-install the Money 2002 Service Pack. 3) I tried to re-install Money 2002 from the CD. The same error message appeared. 4) I rolled back the system to September 5, 2004, the earliest date I could, and it did not correct the problem, However, I am not sure that it was working in September.     - Money 2004 shows more cash in Portfolio and Acocunt Views than in the Cash Account Itself I transferred some money to my brokerage account from checking. Everything was OK initially, but since I downloaded from the broker: the cash balance in the cash account is correct but the cash balance for the same account, as displayed in the "Portfolio" and "Account List" and "What I have" reports, is higher than the balance in the cash account by the amount of the funds I transferred. Anyone know how to fix it? Deleting all the recent transactions and re-entering them did not work, nor did changing the opening balance by a penny and changing it back, nor did -repair.     - Payee name field too small When downloading transactions from my PNC Bank account, all check card purchases appear as, "CHECK CARD PURCHASE XXXXXXXX1583". Obviously the purchase amount appears as well however, unless I go to the banks website and pull up my statement, there is no way for me to know who the actual Payee is. Is there a way to make Money 2005 IGNORE these first 32 characters when reading the downloaded transactions?     - Current Transactions don't show. Hi there, We are currently testing Money 2005 and love the automatic updates. Everything works fine but the downloaded transactions are not current. We have a current balance but the latest transaction to download is from 11/22. We don't have any filters set and when we go to the website there are certainly far more current transactions recorded online so I am not sure why Money is not updating those.     - MSN Bill Pay account after upgrade to Money 2005 (Merge accounts) I upgraded from Money 2004 to Money 2005, converting my 04 file that had MSN Bill Pay set up as being associated with my checking account. After the upgrade and conversion, I had an extra separate account for MSN Bill Pay in addition to my checking account. The MS support pages give instructions to merge the duplicates accounts, but on attempting this, Money said I had no duplicate accounts to merge. I have read on this forum that others have had this same or similar problems, so I thought I'd share my findings. It turns out that you have to install Money 2005 AND perform the online updates that get invoked on starting Money 05 for the first time BEFORE you convert your 04 file to 05. If you run 05 for the first time and let it open your 04 file, the conversion is done before the online updates. I reinstalled 05 and ran it with a new file, allowing the updates to be installed, then re-ran 05 with my 04 file. I suppose that as long as the updates have installed, then you could just reopen your backed-up 04 file and have it converted again.     - Performance - Big files after archiveing? I'm using Win98 and MSmoney 2003. In order to achieve a little better performance I archived the MS file. Performance did improve a little. However, the file was 24,660KB before the archive and after the archive it is still over 20,000KB. And I archived up to the present date. The File did not get much smaller! My question: what makes the file so big? I assume that the size is proportional to the number of accounts and length of the account name.     - Bank account in Money not current I bought and installed Money 2550 Deluxe this week, and am having problems with my checking account being up to date. The first isue is that I choose to display 3 months of transactions for my Citibank checking account. Well, it is only showing transactions since the date I installed. Not too helpful if I want to do some analysis of several months so I can start a budget. Is there something I'm not doing correctly? The second issue, which is most important to me, is that after updaing my accounts, Money is not showing the most current transactions. Today is dec. 4, and Citibank online shows me that there are 3 transactions today. Money is only showing transactions up through Dec. 3, and even then it's not showing every transaction from Dec. 3.     - Credit card payments When making a credit card payment I understand that the only expense noted is with the individual credit card expense line item. The transfer of funds to the checking account to pay the bill and the actual check to pay the credit card balance are noted as Special transactions and are not considered income or expense. Is this correct? On the reports the transfers are shown as both a transfer in (income) and a transfer out (expense) from budget categories.     - Account transfers When I transfer funds from a CD account to a savings account (at CD maturity) the funds show correctly in the new account but rather than the CD account showing a $0 balance, it shows a negative total. In other words instead of transferring $100 and showing zero remaining it shows the CD account with a minus $100. Why and how do I correct this? There is little downside other than seeing the message. If you
download Money Updates again right away, the error message typically
goes away. You could choose ignore the error message.

Using money 2003, I'm getting this consistently. Also won't download
investment pricing updates either.
