    - Money 2005 UK to Money 2005 Financial Suite UK Hi, I've been running the standard UK version of Money 2005 on 64-bit Vista Business with no problems. I've just got a copy of the UK version of Money 2005 Financial Suite, and have installed it - as far as I can tell, the installation proceeded normally. However, now I can't open any of my Money files. When I try, it tells me it needs to convert them, then says that it can't find the file it's trying to convert or that it may be read-only or I may not have permissions to access it. I'm running Money as administrator. Should I have completely uninstalled the standard version first before installing the Financial Suite?     - CEFCU Updates Since the July updates, I haven't been able to connect to get updates to CEFCU. They claim that I need to contact Microsoft, but I've made the connection the same way that I have with other banks (and those work).     - 12 jumps to start Money Plus Hi, I just downloaded Money Plus - wanted to try before buying. It installed OK but when I tried to run the s/w it asked me to login on Windows Live ID, I did - got error message that my credentials couldn't be verified. I started to look around and found an Article ID891338. It offers 12 steps to fix the problem. I started to wonder if it's some kind of a game. Unfortunately -no, it's not a game according to CS rep I talked on the phone. I'm stuck on step 5: register msxml3.dll - it gave the following error message: The module msxml3.dll was loaded but the call to DllRegisterServer failed with error code 0x80070005...... Anybody knows what it means and if it's the problem? I didn't go any further - what kind of software is this that you have to fix it before even being able to start it?     - various problems with automatic account maintenance I've had really quite a few problems with investment account updates over the years, with different brokers. I can't say that any of them really work well. Recently there's the problem with MMF prices being reported incorrectly. I also have accounts with many spurious "Add shares" transactions, followed a few days later by "Remove shares" transactions, all entered automatically. Dividend reinvestments are routinely added as purchases, followed by dividend received. Same for capital gains. I have account adjustments added from I don't know where, which I have to fix. And miscellaneous other troubles. I had to remove one broker completely from updates because it was constantly getting hosed so badly. Frankly, paper statements were a lot less trouble. Is it just me? Or is automatic online account maintenance really not ready for prime time? (Perhaps I shouldn't ask this here, but is Quicken any better?) I need to change the former address to my new address but when I enter it into the user panel after deleting the former address, the "address and/or pin doesn't match" dialog box appears.     - Working with recovered Money files Does anyone have advice or experience working with Money files recovered through a complete format restore recovery? I have recovered 68 .mny type files from a Harddrive that had a PC restore image overlayed on it. This was MS Money 2007 under Vista Ultimate. The recovered files are semi-genericly labeled with "Recovered_MS-Money_##" they just show today's new save date and range in size from 60KB to 23,300KB. When viewed in Wordpad the largest files have an opening line that says "MSISAM Database" before the gibberish code begins. I tried the Money standard repair but no luck. Money does come up with a demo database when I open one of these recovered files, but so far not the one that contains my critical data.     - Money Plus trial doesn't launch I've tried installing both the Deluxe and Home & Small business versions, but Money fails to launch after completing the installation. When viewed from task manager, the "money" process stalls after loading about 5 MB worth of data into memory. I'm running on XP, and I've installed the Money 2007 trial version without any issues. From a previous posting involving crashes with Money Plus Deluxe on Vista, I've tried turning on/off the Data Execution Prevention (DEP), but there was no difference. Any ideas?     - Color Scheme changed Using money 2006, Vista Home Premium. Recently had a 'not responding' shutdown. When I restarted Money 2006, the color scheme had changed. The Tool Bar (file edit etc) is white letters on white - invisible until mouse hover causes highlight. The menu bar is very pale blue on white - almost unreadable. I have wandered around in the tools area trying to find a color scheme setting but can't find one. As a further clue the corners of the Money 2006 window are square rather than rounded in other Vista windows. Not sure if that was the way it was before or not. I have changed the colors in Vista screen personalize options without effect on the money window. Any help in reseting colors would be appreciated.     - how to exclude transfers and credit card payments from pie chart? Hi everybody, I'm sure I'm not the only one having that question / issue, and perhaps it has been talked about, but I couldn't find the answer. Microsoft Money includes transfers from one account to another as Income / Expense transactions. The same is true with credit card payments. It categorizes all the transactions I made (with a credit card) as expenses (and that is right, of course), and then, on the top of that add the credit card payment for those transaction as another payment, which in effect doubles (falsely) the expense amount.     - MMF Money Market Fund prices jumping all over I have holdings in a money market fund whose price is kept always at $1. Money 2006 Premium keeps downloading "updates" for this fund that make the price jump between $1.00 and $4.94 - $4.98. I delete the bogus prices from the price history, but they keep coming back. There are no transactions recorded at this price, but it sure makes my net worth jump around a lot. What's going on, and how can I make it stop doing that?     - Money Plus - slow execution on converted file? If you are upgrading (have an existing money file) I highly recommend you download the trial version and test it using your file before purchasing. I have purchased this product annually for over 10 years now and this is the first time I have uninstalled it and resumed my use of the previous version. My money file contains 2.5 years worth of history (17MB) and as usual when first invoking the new version of the software it required my existing money file be converted before proceeding. The conversion process took less than 15 seconds. After acknowledging the conversion (click Finish), it took 2 minutes 45 seconds for the software to display the home page, then another 4 minutes 50 seconds before the "I'm Thinking" icon allowed me to navigate the software. A grand total of 7 minutes 35 seconds to open the file!! Of course I saved then re-opened the file (same results), booted my system, uninstalled, re-installed, repair file, etc. all resulting in the same frustrating end. (For comparison, Money 2007 on my PC takes 18 seconds to open the same file) I did create a new money file then added a few accounts and some transactions, and the new file worked quickly and flawlessly as you would expect, so I can only assume either my Money file has problems, or the software has conversion or large file issues of some kind. Hence the recommendation to download and test the trial version first. Has anyone else experienced this same problem and figured out a remedy?     - importing investment transactions I'm importing investment transactions in qif format for the first time into an investment account. Per the instructions, I save the qif file into my computer first, then use File -> Import to import the transactions. The problem is that I get the dialog "Select Import Investment". The investment itself is not on the Investment List. But when I go to Work with investments -> Choose a specific investment, it is there, with the correct investment symbol.     - Money 2006 Update Brokerages List Does anyone knows if there is someway to update the brokerage list for Money 2006? I have the Principal Brokerage Investments that shows in 2007 and 2008, but in 2006 I get is Principal Fincial Group(which also shows up in 2007 and 2008)and when I try to log in it says the username and password is incorrect. The password works fine when I add Principal Brokerage Investments in MSN Money. I tried to create a new money file and pull from MSN Money and it pulls all accounts except Pricipal Brokerage.     - Plus - Net Worth Over Time Report Wrong Hello, I'm using the new Microsoft Money Plus. Everything seems more or less ok, though not much of an upgrade at all. My only problem, and a big one for me, is the Net Worth Over Time report has a mysterious gain and fall in one of my investment accounts. I don't see anything odd in the register so all I can guess is that it has some bad pricing info for my investments over that time. In the report over those months it shows my total account (can't find how to show individual investments) earning an annualized 400 percent - which, sadly, just want the case.     - no "update account manually" when creating redit card Hello all, In Money Plus Premium I try to add a credit card account (Diners Club) and "update account manually' is never an option. It just tells me that I have to sign up for the MSN oline service. Even if I cancel, it will leave a "complete setup for online services" and when I download a statement from their site the account is not an option to get that statement imported into (which worked on Money 2005).     - The stock split that won't go away Every time Money 2006 downloads transaction from Ameriprise Brokerage, the same stock split appears over and over (7/2, Flowers Foods). No matter if I accept the transaction or delete the statement, it appears again the next time the pull occurs. This does not appear in the transactions for the account, but does under the "Update Prices Manually" for that security as a stock split (at least it does not duplicate over and over).     - Deleting an account/bond investment Version Money 2006 Deluxe I created these before I had read how to do it properly here on this forum. Now trying to correct... When I attempt to Delete them (Portfolio Manager->'common tasks'->'work with investments'-> 'delete an investment') They disappear from this list and show up as â??Closedâ?? in Accounts list. And they still show up in Reports/Bond Performance. When I now try to delete them (Account List -> change account details -> Delete an account) I get this error message: Details Product: Money ID: obres:34 Source: 15.0 Version: 15.0 Symbolic Name: errUnknown Message: This operation cannot be performed. Explanation Usually caused by a corrupt file. User Action Run the Money File Repair tool to fix the problem.     - Curious problem with share quotes I am having problems downloading Australian Stock Exchange share prices. I have been doing this for years, but recently I have been getting messages saying: For Shares: "Money was unable to retrieve a quote forAU:ARG. There was an error reading from, or writing to, your Money file. Please exit Money, then restart the application an try again." The same applies to ARG, PMH, PEN, EIF, GIR. The only thing that these have in common is that they have all had a split at some point. For Options: The symbol AU:UTOO is invalid. This applies to all my options eg PENO, PMHOA. I had this problem a while ago, but it disappeared and then returned. These are not a problems with my files. The same thing happens using old restores and other computers.     - Money Plus Deluxe auto update I just installed Money Plus Deluxe last night. I did use Money 2004. In the 'Accounts', my main checking account has a "Last Updated 10/4/2004" and a Bank Balance $700, (the balance supposedly in 2004) and Adjusted Balance $1400. MoneyPlus thinks I formerly had automatic Online updating on my older version but I didn't, I had to manually download a file from the bank and import it. I hated doing it that way, I like to manually enter ans balance my accounts. I did go through the set up for online account updating by clicking the links but it didn't get rid of the erroneous date and balance showing. I canceled the update feature and deleted the duplicate accounts it created and still have the "last updated ...2004..." How can I clear it?     - 'Use current Advanced Budget' greyed out for Cash Flow Forecast I'm trying to get the Cash Flow forecast to use my current advanced budget instead of trending past expenses. M07 has this option on the 'Change Cash Flow Settings' page. the prompt reads "For cash flow forecasting, use:" and then 2 options - (1) Amounts calculated from past trends, (2) Amounts from my current Advanced budget. The first option is selected by default on the page. The second option is grayed out. And of course, that's the one I want. Yes, I DO HAVE an advanced budget in play (not Essential Budget).     - Has anyone purchased a retail version of Money Plus (2008) yet? Following through on the title, from a B&M store? And if yes, which store? Since spotting Money Plus Premium 2008 on Costco's website at the very nice price of $40, I thought I'd wait until the release date and pick it up at a Costco B&M warehouse. So last week at a local Costco, I asked if it will be available in store, and they said no. Called a different warehouse today, and got the same answer, but with a more detailed explanation. They said "it's not showing in our inventory system for the store". The further explanation was an item shows up in their inventory sys at least four weeks before it is carried in stock at the store. So buying this at a local warehouse is not an option in the next term. And my current M04's online services will expire a few days after the Aug 27 release date.     - Money 2007 Reports Money is terrible in the way it prints reports. I can't tell if I should print in portrait or landscape mode, if the fields are too big or have any idea of how it will look. Each time I modify the look of a report and save it, it still appears the same the next time. Print preview does not work for any of my printers.     - Tracking money market funds with Cashflow I've recently decided to start transferring my checking account funds from my bank to my investment brokerage account. The funds will be transferred into a money market fund where I will use this fund for day-to-day expenses. However, herein is my problem. I rely heavily upon the Cashflow tool with Money, but Money only tracks cash accounts, bank accounts, the "cash" balance of an investment account, etc. Since money market transactions are treated as purchases from the "cash" portion of the investment account, then I'm unable to accurately forecast my cashflow. Given this, does anyone have any suggestions of how I might be able to track the value of the money market fund, in conjuction with other cash accounts, inorder to forecast cashflow?     - mscvr80.dll problem with MS Money 2007 Deluxe I'm having an issue with my home page and a mscvr80.dll file. Just recently (it coincided with the August 17 networking issues, so I thought it had something to do with that, but now I'm not so sure). When I sign on and go to my MS Money home page, it will crash with a problem associated with the above file. I report it to Microsoft and when I close that box, it crashes the program. If I'm fast enough, after signing on, I go to anywhere else but the home page and the program will run fine - but if I do select, even then, to go to the home page, it will crash again. Everything else in the program seems to be working fine. I went into settings and set it now so that it doesn't open up on my home page when starting the program, but I would like to be able to use the home page. Any thoughts? I have no idea why this happened. Everything had been working fine before.
