    - Pay bill from paycheck Hi, everybody! I have a recurrent bill that will end someday (23 months from now). This bill is automatically debited from my paycheck, witch I track cent by cent in Money07 Deluxe as well. Is there some way to track the bill (creating a bill in the BILL PAGE) AND make it payable from the paycheck details? I mean: 1. Create a bill. 2.     - some quicklinks in Money UK do not work How are the quicklink shortcuts generated in Money? I have "Home, Accounts, Bills, Reports, Budget, My Money, Investing, Banking, Planning, Mortgages, Insurance, Students" as my quicklinks, but only "Home, Accounts, Bills, Reports and Budget" actually do anything. If I click on the others, I just get "The webpage cannot be found". If I look at the address in the browser bar after clicking on the links, I see that it shows up as a French link - ie if I click on "banking" the browser window shows up as http://money.msn.fr/bank_plan/default.asp However, I am using Money UK - so why is it defaulting to a seemingly French page?     - Moving Money 2000 to new computer needs password Hi - I received a new computer and I am moving all of me software from the old one before I get rid of it. I installed the copy of Money 2000 that I had on the old computer. When I copy my msmoney.mny file to the new computer and attemt to open it, it says I need to enter the password for the file.     - Clear 'Update Unsuccessful' message in Account List A bunch of my accounts have the "red exclamation point in triangle" icon to the left of the account name, and "Update unsuccessful" in the "To Review" column. These have been there for eons. I stopped trying to auto-update these accounts long ago; now I log on to each accound and do a manual download.     - Money problems My copy of "money" was upgraded to 2005 Delux edition in 2005. Las year I purchased the 2007 edition whioch stated that "data on previous editions would automatically be converted: but attempts then .and again now result in a message to the effect that it could not install data from pevious editions. Due to lack of capacity on my old computer I have purchase a new one and as I no longer have the 2005 installation disk I intended to add the old hard drive on the new machine. Unfortunately the New machine runs on "vista" and is incompatable with the XP system. So today I searched for and purchased a 2005 edition of money,loaded it on my new computer and tried to restore the data from back up on a memory stick, The program appears identical to the old one but all I get is rubbish when I try to restore the data.     - How does money get its data? I bank with Navy Federal Credit Union and I am *trying* to adapt to MS Money plus (demo right now) from scattered use of Quicken. I'd like to learn how money gets my bank information so I can make an educated call/complaint to the credit unions technical group about the data I am getting. I am currently testing two mny files, one automated and one manual. Today with NFCU, when I do their recommended manual method by signing on to the website, selecting a date period then importing a QIF file, all the transactions show up as "POS Debit Visa - Acct#last4" and no other information. If I managed to enter the transaction from the receipt before the download, I prompts me to match it. All is good except I don't always, rarely actually, get receipts from my wife, nor do I often enter receipts as soon as they happen. Having just entries for POS Debit Visa - Acctlast4makes it very difficult to use Money to its fullest potential unless I manually fix each and every transaction which is equally as frustrating and each account is a seperate download to boot. On the automated downloaded file, all was great up to today, for the most part. However, today NFCU updated their online account portal so users can now see pending transactions (authorizations) plus cleared transactions in one browser window to explain to the user the difference between available balance and current balance. Before todays website update, when I downloaded transactions, they would show up with regular payee names like Home Depot, Seven Eleven, etc. As of today, each download is doubled with one transaction showing the payee name as usual and a matching transaction showing only "POS Debit Visa - Acct#last4" and you have to watch for and delete them. This happens on every VISA/Debit card transaction. I would like to call them and complain and ask them to fix it, but is it really their issue? It will be an uphill climb as they do not support either money or quicken, just imported files. How is Money getting the file on the background downloads? Does the windows live account actually log in and cull data or is the bank providing some sort of file they can correct? If I cannot get them to fix either the duplicated entries on the downloads or the lack of payee names on the imports, money is useless to me and I really like this program and would like to use it.     - Monthly spending analysis Hi I'm a UK user, using Money version 14, but I don't think this question is particularly country-specific. In order to help me analyse my *monthly* expenditure I want to see spending by category averaged out on a monthly basis over the last twelve months. This is really helpful in smoothing out peaks and troughs and setting a monthly budget. I've done this so far by exporting data from an annual-expenditure-by-category report into Excel. I set up Money to produce a report for, say, the year ending 30th June. Then I paste these figures into Excel as a column against the list of categories. I'll also have columns for expenditurein year ended 31st April, year ended 31st March etc. Because these are annual figures I then have another worksheet in which all of these figures get divided by twelve to give average monthly expenditure over the twelve months in question. To get to the point, this is all a bit clunky, with plenty of scope for difficult-to-trace errors being introduced, and I'm wondering whether there's an easier way to set up such a report within Money itself.     - customize home page Layout? And while I"m here... I'm using Microsoft Money Plus Deluxe. I'm guessing there is no way to edit the "Spending by category" pie graph that shows up on the home page. I don't like the info it shows.     - Rebuilding the payee list? Somewhere along the way Money 2007 rebuilt the payee list - that is all the payees that I had deleted from the payee list have returned. Since over the years I had spent a lot of time getting rid of old payees (especially after moving from the east coast to the west coast), I'm not too happy with having all this stuff reappear. I know the names are always there, but it seemed easier to match new transactions if all those old names were not being considered. Does anyone have any idea what might have caused this?     - Money 2003: Can't import I've read tons of knowledgebase stuff, but nothing helpful so far. I'm desperate and MS won't help bec my version is "obsolete." I got e-mail from MS last month that I had to delete the Passport credentials. I didn't care because I just import files and work on them on Money- I don't use my bank's website, except for exporting transactions. Since I deleted the Passport credentials, I have tried importing .qifs into Monry. I get a message that the import was successfull, but the transactions don't appear. PLEASE help!     - How to stop downloading a certain transaction. Hello, I have 4 student loans, all with the same lender. So I pay them all in one check (say $400). In the past I tried to pay each loan seperately, sending the lender 4 different checks, but there were a ton of headaches with this as they lender never applied the payments properly. so in Money, I am forced to split this single transaction into 4 different ones because using "Split" will not allow me to transfer to a Loan account like it might with checking, savings, etc. Since the payments are all different amounts (though they may add up to $400) I use 4 separate transactions (which of course add up to my single payment that i made to the lender). so I really don't want to use the (automatically downloaded) single bank payment, i want to use my 4 manually entered payments. how can I get this bank statement to stop downloading?     - Unable to load the registration library Money Plus Deluxe has suddenly stopped working. When I start it, I get a message about Accepting the Online Services Agreement (which I already did when I installed it - or so I thought) and when I click Accept, it says "Money was unable to load the registration library (dll)" and boots me out.     - Market Value = Cost Basis in optionsXpress When I do Update Online Information on the weekend (and some other times when markets are closed), my optionsXpress account shows that the Market Value is erroneously equal to the Cost Basis and the Gain is equal to the commission paid. As far as I know this only happens with optionsXpress. If I do the update again on Monday during the day, Market Values will again be correct. When I look at the Price History, some of the entries are marked "Update" and some are "Online." Today's price is marked Update but I did not manually update the price. It is equal to my cost in the stock. This is the case today (7/26/08), last Sunday (7/20/08), 7/13/08, 7/12/08. It is also the case on 7/24/08 but I'm not sure what time of day I did the update. Can anybody explain why MS builds different versions of MS Money for different markets - which each assume that the user only has accounts in that market, only pays taxes in that market, and only uses the language of that market?     - Can't apply update to MS Money 2005 hello, I can't apply the automatic update to MS Money 2005. It tries to apply itself every time I start MS Money 2005, but fails. I have followed the suggestions on the MVP Money FAQs - ie tried to open a new administrator account on the PC - but none of this worked. I *think* it may be because I previously had MS Money 2005 France installed on the PC.     - category for IRA purchases I'm using Microsoft Money Plus Deluxe 17.0 When I log an entry for an IRA purchase, it's currently categorized as "Buy Investment/ CD". This category is found under "special" in the transaction form drop down list in the account. I'm thinking about recategorizing IRA purchases as an expense instead. When I go to the list of categories "special" isn't displayed. When I try to edit individual transactions in the IRA account. a window pops up for price and total etc., but categories aren't included. I'd like to move all transactions to the new category.     - Unreconciled Accounts? Hi All, I have 5 bank accounts every month that need to be balanced, plus 3 credit cards. Does Money have a way to show which accounts need attention?     - MONEY 2000 I have used MONEY successfully for many years but now I'm stumped! Within my (small) Investment Portfolio I have my WRAP Superannuation/Pension fund. In this fund I have a number of investments spread over various asset classes. I decided to cash out one of them and use the proceeds to buy a Bank stock. I have a small investment with the same bank outside the Super Fund but MONEY will not allow me to identify the new investment with the same symbol. An error message appears saying...'XXX is already being used as a symbol for 'Bank Name.' Please enter a different symbol. Any body with ideas how to overcome this problem?     - Your sign-in information doesn't match the bank's records Money is having difficulty connecting to my bank (First Internet Bank of Indiana) to direct download my transactions. This was working until about a month ago, but then suddenly stopped. I am running Money Plus Delux 17.0.120.1415 on XP. My other accounts (AmEx, brokerage accounts, etc. work properly). I have tried following the steps: 1) support message http://support.microsoft.com/kb/905695/en-us 2) uninstalling zone alarm 3) uninstalling microsoft updates for the past 2 months 4) booting in safe mode with networking 5) having my bank delete my online account, and reestablishing but in all instances I recevie an error that my account # and/or Pin is incorrect. I think I am actually reaching the bank, because after several attempts to connect my bank locks my account due to too many failed login attempts.     - Can't start Money 2007 Deluxe I have been using Money 2007 for 1.5 years with no problems until about 2 weeks ago. Now I can not start Money at all. It takes me straight to the sign in screen and it looks like it will connect and then I get an error that says "Microsoft Money has encountered a problem and nees to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." It says to click for more information about this error and the reference information there is: AppName: msmoney.exe AppVer: 16.0.0.1303 ModName: msofd.dll ModVer: 16.0.0.1303 Offset: 00040a50. There is another click for technical info but it is extremely long. Based on the msofd.dll reference it seemed like a registry error to me. I uninstalled and reinstalled Money several time and different ways with no luck. I've reinstalled Windows Explorer 7 to no avail, I have no idea what else to do and I'm not finding help on the Microsoft website. Help!!! I can't handle my checking account without this program!!     - duplicate transactions I am seeing several duplicate register transactions in my bank account listing in Money 2008. I've checked my actual bank statement and that is correct, however here is what happens: -- my debit card transaction with first come thru as a VISA Purchase, etc, then it will show up as the same exact transaction but it will be listed as CHECK CARD Purchase --if I used my debit card with the PIN at the register then the transactions shows as DDA Purchase and then a few lines later it shows as POS Purchase -- for the exact same transaction! Now you might think it just does this for my debit card transaction - nope. Money will even list an ATM cash withdrawal, twice for the same transaction. I have also seen it for my automatic withdrawals for my student loan payments as well. How can I correct this ...I don't even know where to start.     - Switching Accounts on Download To Whom Can Help: MS Money 2007 has started downloading account information into the wrong account--it is swapping it with another account. This happened in a previous version of Money and I don't know how to correct it. In the previous version it was with a Banking account--two savings accounts from the same institution.     - Portfolio Deluxe, wrong Cost Basis display Dear all, I have switched from Classical Protfolio to Deluxe Portfolio on MSN Money, and found out that since this change all Cost Basis values are wrong and much higher than the initial costs. For example a share bought at 88,16 ( Quantity 100) and Commission 0.0 displays a Cost basis as 8905,93 . All investments in the Portfolio have only one 'buy' transaction. I tried to play with the Commission value, but never could get the right Cost Basis Value, which remains much higher. In Classical Portfolio this problem did not occurred.     - MSM Plus Problems Hello - I just upgraded from MSM 2006 to Plus, and now my Portfolio view is having problems. 1. One of my biggest stock holdings has gone away in all of my accounts, and I cannot get it back. But if I go to Investment Activities all the transactions are there. 2. I get no totals at the bottom of my portfolio, only 0's. Or sometimes I get text displaying. I had these problems previously with Plus and went back to 2006 where all was OK. But I had to rebuild my computer so I thought I would stay with Plus and try to make it work. I tried to do a repair, but no change. Whenever I close the program, I get the following message: We're sorry, but Microsoft Money has experienced an internal error and will have to restart. Please tell Money about this problem...     - Account Balance Wrong I just opened a new investment account and put it into MS Money 2008 H&B. The account was started on 7/10/08 and I started it with a zero balance and confirmed that the zero balance shows in the account settings as the starting amount. If I go to portfolio manager and look at the account the correct balances show from 7/16/08 through today. If I look at portfolio manager for any earlier date the amount of cash is shown incorrectly. If I look in portfolio manager for the account and change the date to 6/15/08 (before the account even existed) it shows a large positive cash balance. I even went into the account and made every transaction as void and the same large cash balance shows. I did a detailed and quick repair with no fix. How can it possibly be wrong until 7/16/08 (when I made a sale of a fund) and then magically the cash balance and everything else is now correct.
