Money 2003 ".mny" and ".mbf" files are saved by default to my My Documents
folder. Because this is a very busy folder on my computer that regularly
gets synchronized with a backup CD it is risky to keep my key Money files in
this location. I feel sure that I could just move the files to a new
location and still run Money but I would probably have to point the system
to the new location each time I opened Money and I don't want to go through
that hassle.

I can find no options to change the default path to the core Money data
files in Help. This probably means that I will have to go into the registry
and change the path.

If anyone knows how to make this change I would love to hear from you.

(1) Move the file to the location where you want it.

(2) In Money, use File->Open to find it.

(3) If you double-click the money icon, Money will open the file that was
most recently opened when Money was last shut down.

(4) Alternatively, you can set up a shortcut to a .mny file and double-click
it to open the file you want.

Use Windows Explorer to move the .mny file to where you like. Then
from Money you can do File->Open. Money will default to that
most-recently-opened file location the next time.

<windowsKey>+E is one way to bring up Windows Explorer.
