    - Change epay check number? I just switched banks (because my previous bank upgraded their on-line system and dropped two-way transfer!), and I don't know if this problem is an artifact of that switch. Now when I make an epay, the payment is automatically given a check number (previously, no number was given). I don't mind that, but the numbers are very close to my current paper check numbers.     - Microsoft Money 2002 Deluxe & Business I am having a problem with Money Deluxe & Business 2002 and the MoneySide security component. It does NOT require technical support, because I think that it is an upgrade problem. The problem illustrates a significant change in software development. My computer's OS is Windows XP Professional (Office 2003 is also installed). Since the debut of Money 2007, the MoneySide security component has not worked properly. For example, when I visit my bank's website the side pane that appears posts an error message. To make sure that Moneyside is functioning, I have to click on the HELP button, click on the SETTING button, and finally click on the ALWAYS button. The functionality should happen automatically.     - MONEY 2004 OEM Standard Hi... How frustrating! When I bring up my FAVORITE REPORT, 'Monthly Budget' , it does not include all the accounts that have balances, and gives me inaccurate totals that don't balance to the total where my checks are posted, I went back to the original entries there and they are posted correcly as to Categories, Subcategories and amounts.     - Moving Back to Money 2004 I "upgraded" to Money 2006 sometime last year, but have had nothing but problems since then. In particular, performance is worse (lots of waiting) and Money has a recurring problem with not matching downloaded transactions to existing transactions.     - gone forever? A friend who wanted to move all of her info from money on an old computer to a new computer (without the benefit of a flash drive, cd burner, network, cursory computer knowledge, etc) tied to move the file to a floppy. When the floppy ran out of room, she cancelled the transfer, and the file itself has since seemingly been lost. She performed a systems restore to a date before the screw-up and was still unable to find the file. Then she called me. I've tried good old fashioned searching the entire hard drive by date for .mny or .tmp files, FileScavenger, Undelete, etc, and cannot find anything resembling that file. I do have one file of interest that is a "xxx.mny.xml" but cannot seem to rename it and save it as a money file to open. Is that even appropriate? I'm either in over my head or missing something simple. I don't need to be told how stupid it was to depend on a single file in a single hard drive. Please help?     - Auto Loan shows as credit Help, I've set up an online update for Chase. My account includes a credit card and an auto loan.     - moving a mny file from XP to Vista I bought a new laptop with Vista loaded (business edition). Installed my copy of Money 2005. Copied my .mny file over to the new laptop. When I try to open it, Money says it wants to convert it and upgrade it to 2005 (it IS a 2005 version). Click OK to convert (anyway). Error: Money cannot locate...     - Wrong balances in portfolio manager I am using Money 2007 on WinXp. At the bottom of the portfolio manager view (grouped by investment type) it shows the cash balances in various currencies.     - M2006: Account Balance History Report When I select Account Balance History under the Assets and Liabilities section of Reports, the report which comes up is called Cash Accounts History. When I select Customize Report and the Account tab, only cash accounts or cash portions of brokerage accounts appear.     - some transactions not downloaded? My apologies if this is already in play, but I couldn't find it. When reconciling my recent credit card statement I found several transactions that were on the statement, but had never dowloaded to Money 2007. I queried the FI (1st Tech) and they said "Money will miss transactions that are backdated to a date in the past after a recent download. For example if you download today and tomorrow a transaction is posted with an effective date earlier in the month, Money will not look backwards for the transaction.     - Help! Installing Money 2006 with Vista Trying to run Money 2006 with Vista has caused nothing but problems. On first installation, the program appeared to start, asked for me to accept internet compatibility, then shut down. After that, I could not open the program from the start menu, nor could I open my data directly (data is stored in Documents folder fyi). I tried Microsoft's dll solution here... http://support.microsoft.com/kb/814144/en-us?spid=9213&sid=global (had to disable user protection for it to even work). This did not solve my problem, so I uninstalled Money altogether, then tried to reinstall the program with user protection turned off. Again, it seemed to start normally, but then after asking me to accept internet protocol, the program shuts down immediately.     - deleting duplicate bill Hello, I am running Windows 98 with MS money 2001. One of my bills is for cable television. I upgraded my service so the amount went up. I have two bills now one coming up for the old amount and one for the new correct amount. How do I delete the one bill that I will not be paying now that shows as a bill coming up?     - money 2006 problems importing from bank whenever I import information from my bank uccu, it says that the import is complete and that I have one statement to read with 150 transactions to review, but when it opens to the account register, none of the new transactions show up. It shows the correct amount and date from my bank in the left hand corner, and it says that I still have 150 transactions to review. I have tried changing the online settings, emptying the temporary internet files, repairing the money file, and setting the account register to show all transactions, but so far nothing has worked.     - Upgrading form Money 99 Spanish version into any Money US Version I am a Money 99 Spanish (Chilean) Version and I want to upgrade to any Money 99 US Version or later, because there isnÂ´t any newer Spanish Version. If I tried to read my Money file I get the following message: "Money cannot open this file because it was created by an incompatible version" After I have tried exporting and importing QIF file, but I loose many account and register information, maybe because I have a large file with many and differents account.     - Update invoice so it shows partial amount paid and new amount due Does anyone know how to update an invoice after receiving and applying a partial payment, so that you can print out the invoice again showing the partial payment made as well as the remaining amount due? We often have people pay us 1/2 up front and 1/2 when the work is completed.     - Still Confused About ecoring Online Payments I just instlled Money 2007 and activated an online payment account. I cannot get online payments to automatically get recorded in the check register. I askeds about this here last wek and thge response I got was that if I made the payment through Money, it would get recorded. Here is what I am trying to do.... I get a bill in the mail from Acme Wigits for $34.95. I want to pay it using online bill pay. I start Money and select Account List/Checking/Make a Payment/Make an Electronic Payment. (I am still in Money according to the title bar). I then enter a payment of $34.95 to Acme Wigits and process it.     - Money 2007 Deluxe and Vista Home Premium 32 Bit Hi, I have not yet been able to successfully update my bank account information with Money ever since I switched to Vista. Money will crash with the "Microsoft Money has stopped working" dialog every time I update the bank account information, and periodically even when it's closed it will toss up something about how Money Background has stopped working. I checked around and so far havn't been able to find anyone else who has similar problems. I've reinstalled Money twice so far just to see if that has helped, but no go. It is fully patched up via it's own launcher so I assume it's up to date as it can be. If theres any more info you need out of me in order to help, please ask.     - Cash account vs Portfolio view Using Money 2004 Deluxe. Never had this happen before but in Portfolio View, one of my accounts shows a negative cash balance of $1100.84. When I switch to the Cash portion of this account, it shows a zero balance. Huh??? If I add $1100.84 to the Cash account, it shows $1100.84 in the Cash account but in the Portfolio View shows zero balance in the cash part. I have done the following: Insured that the starting balance in the cash account is $0.00 Voided every transaction in the cash account which leaves a $0.00 balance.     - Bug in Invoices vs. Categories I think there is a bug in Microsoft Money Small Business 2006. To trace it I made a simple mny file that you can find here: http://pwp.netcabo.pt/gorod/test.mny 1- Download and open the attached test.mny file; 2- Go to the Annual Budget report and verify that the value for March Actual Income for the category "Rents" is 100; 3- Right-click on the word "Rents" and select "Go-to category: Rents". Verify that there is a payment received from customer "Peter", value 545, dated 17th March, that is not being included in the report. The difference between the two payments (100 and 545) is that one is a simple transaction, and the other is the result of generating and invoice and then receiving the payment for that invoice. for some reason, payments for invoices get recognized as belonging to the correct category in some places in Money, but NOT in others like budget reports or Transactions by Category reports. (these budget reports are critical to us because we use them to export data form Money into other applications we have). When a payment is received from an invoice, its category should be changed to the Invoice Item's category for good (in this case, item "March Rent" is specified to be of Category "Rents", so the payment should get that category too). I would appreciate any help with this, and some feedback from Microsoft as I wasn't able to find some kind of support email address where I could report a bug (a free service, I would expect, since it is in their interest).     - Canadian Mutual Fund Updates - some symbols work and some don't I hold a Canadian Mutual fund with a back load, with the symbol TCM201. Money 2006 never updated the prices automatically. As a workaround, I changed the symbol in Money to the no-load version of the same fund, TCM202. Now the prices, which are the same as the back load version of the fund, DO update automatically.     - new error message whern closing out of Money 98 New problem lately., When after I finished editing the money 98 program, , when I go to exit , ( the program is set to backup with out reminding), I get a small error box that pops up that says: " This operation cannot be performed." If I set the backup to navigate to individual folder on C: drive, it then wants me to save to a differant name, so therefore I have two files, in there one called '07 and the other called 07a'. BUT the 'save' button of backup with reminding me will save the backup to both files., one about a few seconds earlier than the other. No error message there. I tried to do a complte uninstall and reinstall but same problem. I then removed and ran regedit and removed money98 files within regedit, rebooted , but same error again.     - How I successfully installed Money 2007 on Vista I was able to successfully install Money 2007 Premium on Vista Ultimate, although it wasn't without a few hiccups. I thought I'd share the steps I took to hopefully help others. This includes several tips I picked up by reading many of the posts in this newsgroup (thanks to Cal Learner and others). Perhaps not all these steps are necessary, but in the end I have Money 2007 running on Vista, downloading financial updates, and backing up successfully. These are areas where many others have hit problems. In total, this took me about 30 minutes. Installation Steps: 0 - Turned on "Use SSL 2.0" In IE7 options (Tools, Internet Options, Advanced, scroll to bottom of list). (This is a tip from other posts) 1 - Copy Money files from CD to computer (Note: I always copy my software to a drive on my PC and install from there. This probably isn't necessary for others to do, but I recall someone in the newsgroup discussing an issue installing from CD. This method would prevent any issues like that.) 2 - Right click on Money 2007's Setup.exe and chose Run as Administrator (another tip) 3 - Message appears warning of incompatibity issues with Money 2007 & Vista (if you open the details of the message it tells you to be sure to install the latest Adobe Flash update) 4 - Click on link which takes me to the Adobe Flash website and installed latest Flash version 5 - Back at incompatability window, I chose to continue running Money 2007 setup. 6 - After setup completed I attempted to run Money from Start menu, however Money said it needed to download and install updates. 7 - Downloaded and installed updates in about 3 minutes. 8 - Started Money from Start menu successfully 9 - From File menu on Money welcome page pointed to my existing Money 2007 money file which I had been using under Windows XP. IMPORTANT NOTE ON LOCATION OF YOUR MONEY FILES: I have always kept my Money file in "My Documents", which works under Vista. However, Vista restricts access to some folders, such as Program Files. From reading other newsgroup entries, it seems older versions of Money by default would copy backup files to the Program Files\Money folder. This won't work in Vista. One user said Money kept hanging every time he tried to backup. Bottom line... keep your Money file and Money backup files in a folder that Vista provides you full access to such as My Docs, your desktop, another folder you create, etc. 10 - Tried to log into my money file, however received message that I must be connected to Internet to signin online. Retried 2 or 3 times with same error. NOTE ON COMMON PROBLEMS LOGGING IN ONLINE IN MONEY: I like many others hit problems with logging into Money online and downloading financial updates. I tried and failed several times. In the end updates worked only after I rebooted my PC. For completeness and to show what didn't work, here are the full steps I took, but I would suggest just trying to reboot your PC immediately (Step 20 below) if you run into problems logging into your Money file with the online access option. 11 - Tried to log into my money file withOUT (yes without) online access, and it worked. 12 - From "Common tasks" side menu, chose "Update now" 13 - Money asked me if this computers is connected to the internet 14 - I chose yes, and it attempted to download updates, but failed after several minutes. 15 - Closed Money. 16 - Reopened Money. Still received message that I must be connected to the Internet. 17 - Closed Money. 18 - Reopened Money by right clicking on icon in Start Menu and choosing Run as Administrator. Vista UAC prompted me to allow "Money 2007 QFE2 Binaries" to run. I choose yes. 19 - Money started, still prompting me to connect to the Internet. 20 - Rebooted computer 21 - Restarted Money using traditional left mouse click (not using Run as...). This time it allowed me to sign-in online. 22 - Chose "Update now" and accounts updated successfully. 23 - Closed Money and backup made successfully (again I put my Money backup files in My Docs). 24 - Opened Money, signed in online, downloaded updates, and closed Money 2 or 3 more times successfully. Just wanted to be sure. :) I know this is long, but hopefully this helps some people. MS is definitely dropping the ball here by not publishing the proper steps or a tool. Good luck.     - 2007 Keyboard Shortcuts Stop Working After downloading transactions from my bank, I go into the Register and Accept the transactions. Then I want to mark these as Reconciled. I like the keyboard shortcut CTRL/Shift/M since it's easier to use this then to click through mouse shortcut menu. But often, the keyboard shortcut is not responsive. I've figured out that to "wake-up" the shortcut I go into Help menu and click MS Money Help, then just close the Help window and the keyboard shortcut suddenly is awake and works. I use Money 2007.     - Most transactions Missing in Reports I have Money 2007 =running on a windows media center machine. Whenever I try to report transactions by category, transactions by payee or account, the overwhelming bulk of the transactions are omitted. Investment income seems to be one of the hardest hit areas in the preceding reports - but they show up when I turn the investments transaction reports. Summary reports at least appear to be reasonable. Yes, i have repeatedly checked the date settings, the categories, accounts, payees and amount settings to make sure that nothing is being filtered out - even going so far as to select them all, And yes, I put the file through repair.     - QIF or PCIF did not recognize M07-I starting getting the following error this week when I am trying to import my 401K information. "The QIF or PCIF file you are trying to import has some information Money did not recognize. The information will not be added to your Money file" I have contact Principal and they say that they have changed their system but all I have to do is created a new account and go from there. Unfortunately I do not get a chance to select and account before the error pops up, so creating a new account does not help. I have deleted temp files and did a Level 2 file repair (no broken records) and so far nothing has helped. Has anyone run across this problem before and how would I fix it?     - Money 2004 Deluxe does not work with windos vista business (32-bit) I have money 2004 Deluxe (standalone version) and bookkeeping all my financial stuff there for a four years. I just upgrade to wondows vista business 2004(32-bit) and install the money 2004 deluxe. The installation is smooth. But it report some problems and vista close it once I click the icon. Is there any workaround or have I upgrade to a new version. Hello,

I'm just starting out using Money. One thing that's annoying me is
that I can't see how to customise the monthly report. I have income
and expenditure from a small business which I don't want to see on
this report. I've removed the relevant categories from other reports,
but I don't seem able to do it on the monthly report, and consequently
the figures are skewed and pretty much useless to me.

I'm I stuck with this?
