Has anybody a solution to the problem of the Citibank statements where the
deposits are downloaded as payments?

You can download OFX from their website that will have no such
problem. Perhaps you already knew that...

I am aware of that possibility. It would be nice to be able to use the
automatic update feature though. It works perfectly with AmEx and other
credit cards, just not with my Citibank accounts. Do you know if this will
remedied sometime in the near future. I am using the trial version right and
am waiting to buy Money 2005 until this is resolved.

Bert,

It's not an issue with Citibank. It's a known bug with Microsoft Money
2005. See http://www.jguidera.com/money_2005_bugs.htm for more information.
Microsoft is currently pointing their fingers at their partner, Yodlee,
claiming it's a bug in their service. In any case, this is a potential
problem for ANY non-direct connect FI (American Express is a direct connect
FI and therefor does not have this particular issue).

According to my support tech, Yodlee will be correcting all accounts
having this problem over the next two weeks. All accounts should be
working correctly by 11/1.

That's good news. Did your tech indicate whether or not they were also
fixing the issue that's preventing those downloaded items from being
matched?

No. However, I've found that if I enter the transactions in the Bills
area instead of the account register, they do get matched (after I
change the sync'd transaction to have the correct payee instead of
blank). Not a big deal, as I use credit cards for day-to-days, then
pay off at the end of the month and all my regular bills are already
in the Bills section. If you write a lot of checks (or use a debit
card) entering the transaction as a one-time bill in the Bills area
could be more of a hassle.

Oh, and my paycheck deposit yesterday came in as a deposit (and
matched to the deposit set up in "bills").
