I wait to see a press release on the Intuit site. Money UK 2005 hasn't had
the problems fortunately that the US version has had this year, but there
will be less impetus to innovate IMHO.

Is the market situation in the UK different than here in the US? I.e.,
Quicken has way more market share than Money over here. Competition between
them has drive prices down to barely the cost of the materials in the box
plus the retailer's margin. Was the Quicken UK version just a slight mod
from the US or was it very highly unique? I guess I'm wondering why Intuit
blinked first in your market. I've half been expecting Microsoft to blink in
this market for several years now.

It's about 50:50 over here. Not sure on the specifics of Quicken, but I
would guess it is similar to Money - Money UK is like a cut down version of
Money US, without most of the online stuff thats broken ;-) This is partly
because virtually all of our banks (that provide it) only allow statement
downloads directly from their websites and not any other way.

I can see the level of 'downloadability' over here dropping also.... without
the competition too, the future is uncertain for all financial products
here.
