Howdy,

I 'm hoping to open up a new checking account, and use MSN Bill Pay "epays"
for approximately half of the checks that I write. However, since Microsoft
Money requires that all the check numbers be unique, I want to make sure that
the epay check numbers do not overlap with the printed check numbers. When
signing up for Bill Pay, can I specify a starting number for the checks? Or
is it best to request from my bank that the printed checks begin with a large
number?

Thanks for the help!

Microsoft Money does not require that all check numbers be unique.
There is a warning by default when you enter the info, but it is
only a warning. It may not even apply for bill pay. I don't know.
Tools->Settings->AccountSettings(global)->DisplayAWarningWhenUsingDuplicateCheckNumbers
lets you turn off the warning if you like.

I don't know about that. I understand why you would want no
duplicates, even if Money does not complain. Somebody may have that
info for you.
