money 2003; advisor; "FYI details" error message
I've noticed a little annoying thing that happens when I click on a Money
2003 advisor. The "Review the Advisor FYI details" page will come up, but
when I click on any link I get a pop up window which will have a message
"The parameter is incorrect".
Is there anything I could do to repair these links?
If it makes a difference, my main hard drive is "F:"

MSN Money Synchronization
I've been unable to synchronize with MSN Money. I get the following error
message:
"Your update could not be completed because it took longer than the maximum
time allowed. This may be because your update contains many transactions.
Try updating when the Internet is less busy (early in the morning, or on
weekends). If your update includes accounts you don't use any more, and you
don't want to keep records of their old transactions, consider deleting the
unused accounts from Money."
Of note, I do have a large file (now running about 57Mb. I also have not
been able to synchronize for about the last four months using Money 2004.
Anyone else having similar problems? I've seen other posts regarding large
file sizes.

Matching DL Deposits with Invoice Payments
I have setup Money 2004 Small Business to download transactions from my
bank. This is working fine. Most of the deposits are payments received for
invoices.
When I download the deposit record from the bank, it does not match the
transaction with the existing transaction that was created when I run the
"Receive payment for invoice" task in the Accounts Receivable window.
Furthermore, when I try to manually match the downloaded transactions, the
deposits created manually do not appear.
What is wrong here? Is there something I'm missing or is there a problem
with the program?

401k / Vesting / Company Matching
Hello. I am looking for a way to track my employers vesting dollars in
my 401k account. They match the usual 6%, and this company matching is
vested over 3 years. My company buys their own stock with these
matching dollars, and as my time in the company increases, I gain
access to those dollars.
I am 1+ year at the company, which means that I am now 34% vested in
my employers matching account. How can you set up an investment in
Money 2004 to show this? This is legit money that is included in my
overall 401k balance, but I cannot figure out how to handle this in
Money.

Been using Money 2003 for years on XP system. Now, when

system info" and asks for disk so it can install itself.

Stock Symbol Limits on Money
I have stock I will refer as ABC Co. and the symbol is
(ABC) I have this stock in multiple portfolios. Example
one in my 401K account and the same company stock with a
separate broker account. MS Money only allows you to list
a stock symbol once period. Once I use that symbol it
does not allow me to use it elsewhere.
Is this a bug or am I performing this all wrong. Thanks

I've recently needed to add a another hard drive (going to
reformat the old drive due to numerous problems). My Money

rate of return for options "N/A"
I am using Money 2004 Deluxe. I sold some June call options months
ago, the value of the call options have steadily dropped since then,
which means profit in my favor, so Money has been correctly
calculating the returns (annual, YTD, etc), up until Friday, when June
options epxired. So on Friday, I entered a transaction for the call
option to expire them, but now, under the returns, there is "N/A"

After a system reinstall I was having the dreaded "sign-in unsuccessful"
problem with Passport. A Google search turned up several suggestions, none
of which worked until I found Dick Watson's post on Feb 7th which, among
other things, suggested re-registering msxml3.dll (regsvr32 msxml3.dll).
This fixed me!
As to what may have screwed up the registration in the first place, I can
only speculate that it may have had something to do with the fact that I
installed Visual Studio.NET 2003. Knowing how big VS is on XML, it may have

for some reason, my money 2003 file when opened says that

I've found out that Money 2004 has "Child Support
Received" listed as an available income, but I am unable
to find something like "Child Support Paid" in the

All right first I was getting the cannot enter transactions
then I reinstalled money and then did the checksku and it
said that those 3 .dll files are missing. Could that be the

When closing Money 99 it always asks me if I want to
disconnect from the internet, if I am connected. How do I
stop it from asking? I don't use the internet with Money,
but if I am connected at the time I am using Money it asks

money in the mail! I was shocked! I figured it would end soon, but the money
just kept coming in. In my first week, I made about $25.00. By the end of the
second week I had made a total of over $1,000.00! In the third week I had over
$10,000.00 and it's still growing. This is now my fourth week and I have made a

Matching Downloaded Transactions
MM02 inists on changing the payee for downloaded transactions. How do I
stop it from doing this?
Let me try to explain better...
I have a bill set up for my ISP. This is for $24.95 and is from AT&T. This
is auto-entered.
I also rent cars and get charged $24.95 by my credit card provider for
insurance. This is NOT set up as a bill.
Money insists on matching Insurance payments to AT&T payments and then
entering AT&T payments as new transactions. Why does it not match against
the payee?

Transfers between accounts
I am having a problem with transferring money between accounts at different
banks, when I transfer money between accounts at my primary bank (BOA) the
transaction shows up at the same time in each account, money in money out on
the same day, however when I transfer to accounts at other institutions (or
pay a credit card) there is a lag between the time the money leaves BOA and
when it shows up somewhere else, usually about 1-3 days. This causes
problems when I download statements from both places, if I mark the money
leaving BOA as a transfer to the other account then the money is added to
that account register immediately, then when I download the statement from
the account that I am transferring to it shows up twice in the register...
this can be a real hassle to track down and fix. Any suggestions?

I know I should've known better, but I made a back-up before I had to erase
my hard drive but and I used 4 floppys. I went to retore my file and one of

Upgrading to Money 2004 from Money 2000
I downloaded the USA version of Money 2004 Deluxe tonight but when trying to
convert from Money 2000 Deluxe I get an error on import stating "Money
cannot open this file because it was created with an incompatible version."
The version I am running currently us Microsoft Money 2000 Deluxe Version
8.0 I have been using this for a few years and figured it was time for an
upgrade. I do not want to loose the last couple of years of data. 2000 still

Budget Problems in money
When I setup the budget amounts, they show incorrectly in
the budget screen. If i put in $50 for cellular, it will
say $100 in the budget screen. This happens in several
categories. In credit card, it is supposed to be 155, but
it shows 240. I tried creating a new budget, but that
