You might as well give up on Money Essentials immediately (ME), and save
yourself a lot of trouble.

No one here thinks much of ME. It's mostly designed to attract people who
just want a checkbook register. It won't import or export data.

I recommend you return ME and get a more capable version of Money.

What's the most basic version of Essentials that would offer these two
features?
