I set up a new investment account and the transactions like buys, sells and
dividends are not be recorded in the Cash Transaction section of that
account.

The Track Cash Transactions check box is selected in the Account Settings
section.

Help is appreciated.

Check to see that the TransferTo section of the Buy is set properly.
Ctrl+T will switch to multi-line mode from single-line mode, and
that would let you see the TransferTo for the transactions in the
register.
